Omori has gotten so powerful, even the tofu is running
the deal with space ex husband is that you have to pay attention to the memories with sweetheart that he recalls during the battle, and use the skills and toys to make him feel an emotion that corresponds with that memory, the fight itself is not that hard, understand what you have to do is the hardest part
Yeah sometimes I wish developers could add something to figure it out easier lmao I saw lots of people still trying to understand the battle after 30 minutes.
SXH and Sweetheart mention = Happy
SXH alone =sad

@@soulknightmaster2960 i mean, they do give us a little clue from the text though. SXH did say something about no one understanding his emotions, so we have to use a specific emotion changer to him
@@DZTWoo The problem is when people don't understand the mechanic they try a random emotion for SXH and when it doesn't work it makes people think "oh emotions aren't working?" which creates a big confusion. It's not a problem for me but maybe developers could make it kinda more clear
I figured it out pretty quickly. I don't know why some people even have so much trouble with him. Same with the Sweetheart fight.

i always thought about what the snowy angel could represent, because they give me the same feeling I get from the stone statues, something "church-alike"

solutions and info for the space ex-husband fight below:
1: the memories he describes always have one emotion associated to them. you need to make space ex-husband feel that emotion to make him lower his guard
2: the reason he didn't take damage in that one sadness phase was because you made him miserable, where the user will not take damage and will only lose juice. I HIGHLY recommend that you only put space ex-husband in phase one emotions ONLY

all the wholesome conversations between our headspace friends feel so bittersweet in the Hikikomori Route; the feeling that this isnt how its supposed to be and how everyone thanks Omori for being there for them when in reality sunny is the one who needs them really makes it feel empty, especially after playing the true route
I want to see an omori mod where everyone except omori and something in headspace are invisible, to see how empty it is
It feels off right? Like, because Headspace and the people in it aren't real, it feels forced, or scripted.
Fun Fact: From a stream Omocat did very recently for the occasion of Basil's birthday, she kind of brushed off the fact that "Kel" was originally named "Kelsey" and "Hero" was originally named "Henry" early on from a draft she showed. We still don't know why Omocat gave them nicknames but it's nice to have some kind of confirmation about their real names.
P.S. What happens at 3:15 is a WTF value related event.
Also, for the Space Ex-husband fight you have to give him a different emotion based on his dialogue. If he's describing an event where he would be happy, make him happy, an event where he would be sad, sad and so on...

So Hero’s real name is Henry. Awesome.
To add to the Space Ex-Husband tips, Merg didn't do damage when he was sad because he wasn't sad, he was miserable (Merg used the poetry book 3 times), when you are miserable, you can only take juice damage
you can tell what emotion space ex husband needs solely based on how he starts the sentence:
it's my sweetheart... but she's... = angry
it's me... and my sweetheart... = happy
it's me... alone... = sad

You couldn't deal damage to sxh when he was sad because you made him miserable, so all damage was converted to juice. You had the right idea though, just make him whatever emotion he gives you and you can damage him

Another fun fact: the part where omori turns into a potato, it’s a reference to the original blog that omori came from. There was one entry where it said “life would be so much better if i didn’t look like a potato” or something like that

On the Game Over screen, picking “yes” to continuing restarts the fight. You have to say “no” to go back to your last save.
A hint for the SXH fight: You have to control his emotions based on what he says. For example when he says ''She's throwing my things across the room'', you have to make him angry. Hope this helps!

@@KarmaticFluff A lot of people do, because for some reason in a game where literally no boss ever says anything during the battle unless it's something you have to look out for, like a change of phase, people think SXH looping his dialogue with different memories is just flavor text.

Fun fact: Space Ex-Husband is one of only two enemies who can feel all three tiers of all three emotions. It’s one of many interesting parallels between him and Omori, actually.

For the SXH fight, you need to make him feel an emotion based on the memory he sees.
You only drained juice when he was sad because you made him miserable, which converts all damage to juice. you only need him to feel tier 1 emotions to be able to deal damage.
Also apparently, Mari is pronounced with the stress on the first syllable, not the second (that's how OMOCAT pronounced it in a stream for Basil's birthday).

It's up to you how you want to play the rest of Hikikomori, no matter how you do it, I'll still be looking forward to watching your strategies and exploration of the maps. Come the _actual_ DLC, you'll have even more options!

Hey Merg, not sure if I’m putting two random things together. But when SXH has a memory happen, he says that no one understands his emotions. So maybe you have to use an item or ability to make him feel what he SHOULD feel for that memory. Not sure if this is accurate but maybe it will work. Again can’t wait for the next episode! Keep up the great work Merg!

It’s very interesting to see how many references are made to religion, the church that is in the style of the mountain, the angels, the judging statues. As if this is a place people retreat to when they want to find a reason behind what is happening.
Merg’s adventure is getting so deep, Sunny’s mind is changing into a worse state.

I like how he couldnt figure out the gimmick and was doing 0 damage the whole time, and then he accidentally inflicts the right emotion but he makes him miserable so it still does 0 damage (because miserable makes them only take damage to juice).
damn, this game has so so much content, every time i think i already know everything about it something new is brought to my attention. like the somethings after flooding rain town, i am pretty sure ive never seen that before

Great video as always! For the boss fight, you gotta make him feel the emotion he is talking about. If he says something like "I remember when we looked at the stars with sweetheart" it is happy, "I remember Sweatheart throwing all my stuff" it is angry etc.

At the time you're done with this fight, I recommend you check out the space path place that leads to the junkyard. There's a special guest there.
Basically what you do is make space ex husband feel emotion that his talking about, for instance, if he makes a sad sentence, you make him sad, and your able to do damage, if his angry, you make him feel angry, same as before, your able to do damage, its one of the hardest bosses yet, maybe even the hardest, good luck.

You say Perfectheart is harder... but with Entire Chickens, everything is possible. You can even one shot Perfectheart with a glitch, or two shot her WITHOUT the glitch.

200 speed (Via any method outside of Coffee and Ecstacy, so Chicken Ball, Fox Tail, whatever)

Doing the math... it may actually be a two shot with two lowered defense tiers...
But nonetheless, you'll have to act FAST in the second one. If Aubrey is slower than Perfectheart, you can get Aubrey and Hero to make Kel Happy, each, and if he's taken a break to Flex, you can do it again and wreck half her hp, or all of it idk.
Nonetheless... it's easier just to have Hero and Kel spam AOE heals.

As for doing it in one phase, I just know it's the speedrun strat to use Abbi's eye, and that negates her second phase, meaning she can just be one shot (likely only on that turn, and idk if it's patched yet)

the reason that SPACE EX-HUSBAND took no damage at 45:00 is because when a friend or foe is MISERABLE, 100% of their damage taken gets converted to JUICE instead of HEART (30% and 50% for SAD and DEPRESSED respectively)
doesn't help that being SAD increases your DEFENSE, too

Spaceboy can feel emotion, you just have to find a little crack in his emotional defense to wedge in something, his memories are that little crack... you just have to wedge in the right emotion at the time.

The reason why you weren't dealing any damage when you put him miserable in 45:08, is because the sadder someone is, they take almost no damage but instead they loose juice
Who are you talking about ? Space Ex Husband was Neutral. You're supposed to read his dialogue and make him feel the appropriate emotion

Well done! This is where the game shows how hard it can really be.
If you end up struggling, just stock up on group heals and use them every turn with Hero, turns the game into easy mode.
SXH is 1 of 5 "superbosses" of this game, with this one being the easiest, you have a long way to go lol

In the SXH fight, you need to inflict him with the emotion related to what he says when he recalls a memory.
You gotta make SXH feel an emotion based on his memories. Happy = Staring at the night sky or into each others eyes
Sad = Standing alone with his picture
Angry = Throwing things across his room
Aw maan, you got really unlucky at the fight with the emotion mechanics there lol. The fight itself isn't hard, but it's just hard to figure out what to do. Try focusing on SXH's dialouges! You will eventually get it. Also another fact, when he is miserable, miserable emotion makes ALL damage to turn into juice. That's why he confused you right there :) I really love your Omori content a lot. Please keep it up!
You should defeat Space Ex Husband before anything else you should still be able to explore afterwards so don’t worry about that

Based on what I saw of the SXH fight you have to make them feel the emotions that correspond to the memories they mention. Since Kel is your fastest character make him use one of the toys and attack with the others. Also remember the sadder a character is the less damage they take, so when you get them sad, don't go any further.
I have been here from the start and seeing merg near a million subscribers makes me happy for once

a tip for SHX without spoilers
try to use the text in the battle for your advantage, if for example SHX says "i see a memory of sweetheart treating me like crap" he'd probably means "I'm angry with sweetheart" so you should probably make him angy
also, try not to make SHX a third level emotion, that will probably make him very dangerous
