- The piano concerto no 1 in E minor, op 11, is a piano concerto written by Frédéric Chopin in 1830, when he was only twenty years old. It was first performed on 11 October of that year, in Warsaw, with the composer as soloist, during one of his “farewell” concerts before leaving Poland.
It was the first of Chopin's two piano concertos to be published, and was therefore given the designation of Piano Concerto “No. 1” at the time of publication, even though it was actually written immediately after the premiere of what was later published as Piano Concerto No. 2.
The first movement of the E minor concerto has three themes, which are introduced by the orchestra. The piano then plays the first theme (bar 139), followed by the lyric second theme (bar 155), accompanied by the main motif of the first theme in bass counterpoint. The third theme is in E major, introduced in the exposition by the orchestra and taken over by the piano (bar 222). The development begins in bar 385, with the piano opening with the second theme; the orchestra then develops the first theme. The recapitulation begins in bar 486 again with the orchestra playing its opening theme.

This sounds so sad without the accompaniment, it's like someone dancing alone. They're beautiful doing it, and in the parts where they're supposed to be alone, they move perfectly and you can't help but feel joy for them there. Yet, when they're supposed to be with someone, it's only half a story. It's sad to be beautiful and alone, it's like a waste, it's so melancholy. This gave me a new perspective on Chopin's composition.
It's sad in regard that maybe you don't even exist, when nobody even perceives you. So in a sense all you is, is someone's experience and you too are in part somebody else, when you perceive them.
True... especially in coda section, it sounds so lonely and just... sad.
That's just your perception. It's perfect just as it is.
Nicely said can’t fault u.
My favorite movement. I listen to Seong Jin Cho play this, and it brings tears to my eyes. No matter how many times I listen to that movement I cry. I’m so thankful Chopin existed to create such beautiful music.
Chopin's music is an ode to beauty
The piano is singing without words!!!

🎼Congratulations PianoReader for 100M views!!!🎹💥
haha epic:D that's something to look up to!💥
To me Chopin stands alone. His music is so elegant and seemingly simple yet exceptionally complex. This work is not an easy learn and I thought after working some of his famous polonaises’ this would be a (semi) quick study... no lol😭
To me, after learning his G minor ballade, this movement feels like 60%~70% of technique difficulty, however still some musical challenging and actually very enjoyable while learning, much brain orgasm happen while learning part of the melody.
He is really a bard touching people's heart.
So beautiful!
I really like this song. Even though I don't understand piano, this song makes me feel nostalgic. About sweet and bad memories in my life. Hopefully someday I can play this song with my fingers.
Piece* and better start preparing now if you want the slightest chance of playing this. I’m currently playing at a grade 10 level, and this concerto is out of reach for me.
This movement is easier than 1st and 3rd
But for sure it still takes effort
I learn G minor ballade as my first piece for 5 months as beginner*self taught), and this is my 2nd piece working serious.
I mean, it is totally possible, if you really feel the music, you can start to study and play.
There are many good and free lessons on interent or youtube.

@@PianoAdventure just a question, if I could perform this, is it bad to just play a excerpt if I'm playing solo?
@@reimakousei793 I personally like it, you could also say a few words about why you perform this excerpt, through some personal anecdote or historical background of this piece. Just my thoughts, depends on the situation at the end of the day^^
@@PianoAdventure thank you for the advice!!
I’m loving these concertos are you gonna do Rach 2 with this sound front?

Who's here from the Truman Show?
This was in the Truman Show?
I spent so much time trying to search what that track was, it was beautiful in that film. It played during the scene where Truman went out with Sylvia (the girl who had a crush on him and Truman tried to search for after she left the show) near the sea.
May I have the sheet music you used?
Sounds like Chopin Opus 10 No 3
