Hey I was doing some research on hermetic qabalah and I came across a video on tiktok where this Jewish person was saying that it is cultural appropriation of the faith by using it's belief systems without being converted. Not accusing you or anything I just haven't had luck finding more stuff about it.
I’ve been concerned about this myself. Judaism is a closed religion, and even if it wasn’t, it’s still not a great look to pull from other religions willy-nilly. From what I’ve read, the Kabbalah was appropriated from Judaism hundreds of years ago, and it’s evolved into other forms since, and I don’t know what the consensus is on whether the various evolutions of Kabbalah are still tied to Judaism or if they’re functionally distinct enough to be their own thing. I’d appreciate more Jewish occultists weighing in on this matter, since I tend to see primarily non-Jewish occultists or Jewish non-occultists talking about this.
Ah, so their God is not for everyone? I would therefore think that it's a RELGION, closed to 'unbelievers, un circumcised etc'. Religion is the scourge of humanity.
Kenneth Grant and others contributed to Qliphothic Qabalah based on the Kabbalistic concept of dark antipodes to the Sephiroth. I spent a lot of free time working with the Draconian Current and pathworking the Qliphoth while I was working on a Religious Studies MA focusing on yoga and traditional tantra; it’s quite intense but very primal and empowering for some. I’ve got a tree with Sephiroth in the branches and Qliphoth in the roots on my back

When we see a picture of the Sefirot, we see it from behind . or ,how should i express myself more clearly: it s like you want to wear a tshirt, and you want to wear it properly ( the front side of the shirt, that usually has some text or image, to face the world ) . An interesting point in regard the qabalah since it got the planets attributed to it is that now in structure it is almost the same as the old geocentric model of the heavens, which was our model for the physical universe. Thus there is this perfect example of psychic projection seemingly. It's crazy that our old physical model is our new model for the interior planes pretty much. This point may even confuse beginning students to the Tree of Life. It's just because after Saturn there was the Fixed Stars and then the Prime Mover, which conveniently can be 1 & 2. The reason the planets are related to 3-10 is that in 1100 c.e. they got correlated to the magic squares for talismanic purposes. That is a core development in occultism actually: 4/5 of the structure of the Tree are the 8 planets (with planetary earth as Malkut as 10).

So a couple years ago, I got into the hermeticism rabbit hole, but purely in like a research way. Just listening to this one scholar talking about alchemy, it's roots in history, and hearing a lot about Qabalah, but only about how it's important. Eventually I lost interest, but as I'm going back into my interest in witchcraft, I scroll all the way down the playlist and what do I see other than this very video? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but this is kinda freaky.

I’ve been looking at this for years and I don’t see how it helps… I don’t care what planets or what chakras… How can it practically help affect my reality… I’ve never been able to find out anybody who can explain it clearly it’s always this rabbit hole of jargon
First of all you are brilliant, especially for your years (although I'm sensing many past lives, and so I'm sure there's an ancient soul that resides in you ). I am completely new in this world, have only been exploring this side for about 2 months or so. I do however have a strong background in Judaism and some Jewish mystic teachings, as well as good groundings in Philosophy, Mathematics and Science. I belong to a Jewish sub-sect you could say, called Chabad, and the majority, if not all of their teachings are based on Lurianic Kabballah, which is one of the streams of Jewish Kabballah you mentioned. I'm sure you are aware that for many centuries there was (possibly still is) a prohibition to study these kinds of ideas. I'm now looking at this seriously for the first time. Apologies for the ramble, but I wanted to give you context. Long story short, I can sniff BS a mile away, and I know enough in these areas to know that you are 100% on the level, and what you are saying is 100% correct and in line with everything I have learnt over many years, in disciplines that orbit the mystic arts. As a 51 year old Qigong practitioner, Reiki Healer, Lightworker, shamanic student of world religions and the occult, I would say there does appear to be some sort of long, ongoing battle taking place between forces of light and forces of darkness. There seems to be lineages of both light and dark masters contesting over humanity. Be careful. Protect yourself from individuals and organizations (both material and spirit entities) with malevolent, predatory intentions.
