      When you say pass it on, having no idea of Sorted's programming, I'm just imagining this style, but the number of fake dishes doubles and is passed on ("double it and give it to the next person") until a single real food is found.

    • @ghillies4life
      @ghillies4life 2 months ago +28

      @metaleggman18Sorted does a thing where 5 or so people go one at a time into the kitchen for a short period of time (10 minutes or so), and they have to continue the dish from the previous chef with no context or instruction. It is chaos. But lovely chaos.

    When Ebbrell said that people use the oyster shell to eat the food as a way to feel at one with it, I quickly thought that was the fake. With the backstory of it being hundreds of years old and from the UK, I felt that people would've cared more about making sure they weren't hungry than about connecting with food on such a deep level

    That poptart lasagna is actually really similar to something my grandma would bring for Thanksgivings a decade ago. However, she would use unfrosted blueberry pop tarts and lemon pie filling for the layers, then the top would be a typical lemon meringue whip and refrigerated until the pop tarts got super soft.

It's been some time since I have had it, but as I recall, it was a favorite among the various lunch menu options at our school. Though I don't think ours had canned mandarin oranges or any sort of nuts, or chopped celery - just the other ingredients. It was warm, simple, and filling.

    wow, i cant believe the kitcheneers would create a very spesific regional dish from my hometown! Tinutuan as we locals call it, and the rest of indonesians just called them Bubur manado (Manado's porridge) many indonesians dont know the name of Tinutuan, so im still surprised the dish got a spotlight with the original name on this channel💌

    • @ebobhazard
      @ebobhazard 2 months ago +1

      @cookiesncreme2491so, it has lots of textures. It's crunchy, it's soft, it has a thick gravy. You also get the saltiness, usually it has Chinese pork strips in it, so it gives it some sweetness as well. The best is when the gravy soaks into the bread, it it just pops it up.
