Captains!
We honor one of the most successful Allied commanders in the Pacific theater with a special collection dedicated to his memory. His small submarine fleet inflicted heavier losses on the Japanese Navy in the first weeks of the war than the combined fleets of Britain and the United States, a feat for which he earned the "Ship-a-day Helfrich" nickname. He was present on USS Missouri, where the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed, and the picture at the end of the collection reflects that historic moment.

A very good movie over a great commander, Thank you Wows for this tribute!
Java is a key for Dutch East Indies since the Dutch came first to Indonesia in 1596. And then Dutch established their trading center in Java called VOC in 1602.
Until WW2 Java was still the center of trade and government for the Dutch East Indies. That why Conrad Helfrich is assigned to defend Dutch East Indies especially The Java Island.

Great to see the defense of the Military Commander of a colonial power. It was not till decades later that the Indonesian people could get their independence from this tyranny. Let's not forget the victors write the history books.
I think it's pretty funny Wargaming forgot that part lol.
He was a colonist through and through.
not in any way different then any other colonist
So?
At least he cared unlike the Japanese.
Will we ever see german sub commanders in the game? Thank you.
my bet is not as Special Commanders but maybe a Historical Captain Like Prien, most likely without a special voiceover...so its just a Name and maybe a special Picture
@@TimTimONE I would definitely take that, among more sub commanders like "Otto Kretschmer" or "Erich Topp", it's something the game is heavily lacking, hope they get created in the future.
