This is the kind of trailer that reminds me that FF7 is like an entire franchise of its own, apart from being a part of Final Fantasy, this looks incredible.
They've called FF7 a compilation a long time ago before.
The comment section is filled with literal bots. They ruined FF7, changed the feel of it too.
They added Advent Children style bosses which is where everything really started going wrong.
This game used to be a serious Corporation vs Freedo fighter game with some occasional curve ball goofy stuff.
Now the director got all butt hurt and has to keep changing stuff with the game.
He's a true narcissist. He can't pay tribute to the old FF7, instead he has to make 'his better version.'

Dude, it was stated years back that the original will always be the original, and while the remake may go down an alternative road, the overall plot will roughly remain the same.
When Nomura was director, he stated multiple times that for the fans, such as yourself, if you're looking for an updated Final Fantasy VII, with gorgeous gfx/visuals, they've already re-released it; It's called, _FFVII Remastered._
This game was coined a, *re-make* for a reason, and they've specified why, relentlessly. Though I'm probably just a bot, so you shouldn't take me seriously.

It's up to people which version they will play, originals always remain untouched, remakes are a new creation altogether
And besides some outliers, majority seems to love part 1, the question is will part 2 and 3 be successful as well

Red XIII's narration is amazing, his voice actor needs an award. I couldn't believe when I first heard his real voice. Excited for Rebirth!

Agree! He was my favorite character in the original and I love how they’ve revitalized him in the remake.
His VA is amazing. If you hear him talk normally you wouldn't guess he was Red's VA which goes to show how talented he is.

When you look back on their ps2 titles like kingdom hearts 1 and 2, ff10, dirge of cerberus, etc their CGI cutscenes are way ahead of its time!

@@Ahmed-og2jm I don't agree with that, to begin with, Who wants to play a story based game starting in the second game, and even if you did, the details should be in the first game, not on this summary, the reason you dont show them is so new players that watch this video buy the first game to see those details, this gives you the context you need to understand what happened in the first game. Anyways I could be totally wrong and maybe there could be a extended version like someone pointed out above.
The rendition of "You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet" at the end of this video, which was the theme played in Forgetten Capital in the OG, gave me goosebumps.

This whole remake project; having Sephiroth be aware of the events of OG FFVII and actively retrace his steps to avoid his downfall…is so unbelievably cool and genius, I can’t believe how awesome it’s turning out to be! 🙌❤️
I really hope they connect everything and break through the idea that this might be “Nomuraed”
If only Square would actually embrace that instead of continuing to try and pass this off as a remake.
@IcyAuron it's not a remake, it's a sequel. The first part being called "remake" shouldn't have been taken literal. The term "remake" refers to everything after the game being remade because they killed the destiny heartless from kingdom hearts.
@@jacksonstubbs2999Why can't just be as a proper remake with expanded narrative and with new side characters? Reimagined gameplay and level designing? Why they needed for this wacky parralel universe bullshit? I think the OG's storyline the best and thanks for that storytelling the Square became success for its name. Everyone rememberred for the moments of the game. Each character's destiny was important for Cloud and his companions to fulfill it. Zack's death, Aerith's death. It wasn't a writing out from the story, they're fate was an important move. Now if Aerith story would be closed by Sephiroth in the Rebirth, would be a trigger move for the newcomer fans. And call me boomer, I don't really care but forgeting what story made the creators and companies to creating more acclaimed games it's a blasphemy. They can't repeat the same success by changing the whole story. By including the whispers is a bad move for the plot. I was disappointed after remake however I am a newcomer and I played with the OG FFVII too just because I was hyped about it. And I was hyped about the Remake too. I thought I get what I wished for. But no. It doesn't matter they wanted to satisfy the old fans. They just took an inspiration from us and took it into the whispers and spitting on our face. Maybe I'll consider myself to buy the Rebirth with PS5 if I have enough money but I don't think they wanted to target the old audience too since every companies goal to grab enough cash from today's trends. Back then they had self-appreciation to make unique stories and they were independent. That's why it's important to have more care about the source material. I trust in the creators will be make a better trilogy about remake and I respect them for their choice. But this game is maybe not for me despite that I enjoyed the Remake.
@@4CH4T1USG4M3S sounds like your complaints about FFVIIR is that it has provided the expanded narrative, new side characters, remained gameplay and level design you believe Remakes should have. Just not the way You and the angry whiny ones who can't breathe and think first wanted it.

God, I can’t wait for Rebirth, loving everything they’re doing so far with the story.
Also, ‘Seven Seconds till the End’ needs to be an extended track of an hour or so. Literal goosebumps as it just builds up in intensity, possibly my favourite track from the game.
I am looking forward to Rebirth for sure like everyone else. I have finished Remake 3 times and proudly earned the Platinum Trophy.

I Wish I could be, don't have a ps5 🤷♂. I had a ps4 pro by random chance already so I could play ff7 remake, but can't justify a console for one game. My ps4 has mainly been my media device for streaming, netflix and stuff. It's been awhile that ive been a pc gamer, but its also been awhile since I upgraded my hardware it doesnt like new games that much lol.

@@udalix I was excited but apparently it shows that Square Enix doesn't care about fans but only putting it on the next best thing. FF7 Rebirth, as well the entire FF7R Saga, was supposed to come to PS4 as well but instead they gave PS4 1/3 of the remake while fans have to shell out for a $500 console just to finish the rest of saga after Square Enix basically lied.

I didn't think y'all could invoke those feelings again that I had in 2020 when Part 1 was dropping. Yet, here I am, watching this video with the brewing feeling the same day way again. Kudos, I bought my hype train ticket.
This voice actor is so highly underrated! Max Mittelman also voiced CLAUDE WALLACE in the amazing Valkyria Chronicles 4 !!!
He did such a phenomenal job in it!
I couldn't even recognize him in FF7 Remake as Red XIII - he has such great vocal range!

It reminds me how I wish for the Valkyria Chronicles series to hopefully continue. Perhaps Max could return as Claude in some fashion. I can never forget his great performance as Ryuji in Persona 5 as well. He's got the talent for sure.

they've said that advent children is still cannon and the story will end up there, so we actually do know what happens lol
@@regulator18E True, Advent Children kind of retcons the whole "humanity died" from the original. I believe this is due to the fact that FF7's popularity rising high and fast like hotcakes. Square knew they when looking for gold, they found diamond. Love the new story Remake has created and can't wait for Rebirth.

This is just like in 1997. A serious, sinister voice telling us why we need to be hyped for this game while epic music plays in the background and over the top visuals hide the fact that this is a role-playing game.
They said it couldn't be done in a major motion picture. They were right.

Is it safe to say I got emotional when they played Sephiroth's theme AND that beautiful Seven Seconds Til The End {City of the Ancients} music from Edge of Creation? DANG IT! Square Enix made me cry a whole river when I heard those two familiar pieces of music! Can't wait until FFVII Rebirth comes out in February 29th, 2024! It won't be long now! I've been counting down the days! Max Mittelman {Red XIII} did an AMAZING job giving us a recap of what had happened previously. I shivered when he said 'We came face to face with a man thought dead, the war hero, Sephiroth'.
HOLY CRAP! I did NOT know Max was the voice of Ryuji from Persona 5! That's insane! So now we have him voicing Red XIII in FFVII Remake/Rebirth?! INSANE! He's KILLING it playing the role of Red XIII!
I like how Red didn't mention Zack once 😂
I think its because they're planning to end the series with Red XIII telling the story to his children. He was talking in past tense the whole time and he never met Zack or know the Zack part of the ending.

I remember when the original came out but never had a chance to play it...experiencing the story for the first time and loving it. Beyond hyped for this.
Point is, you didn't experience the story, you experienced great graphics with crap story. The original story was amazing and the build-up of emotions was intense. This is just a lousy fan service. I'm glad I never bought this and keep replaying the classic. A marvel of story-telling.
The "remake" (call it what it is, a reboot) has bastardized the story. Aerith didn't die, leading to the group to seek revenge, the whole plot has turned to shits because of these decisions.

It just cant compare itself to the classic. I know the graphic sucks to todays standard, but the story man, the STORY! So damn good!
@@bifrostbeberast3246 Mate, the Story of the remake even fleshed out several parts, midgar is significantly longer and has much more depth and no major plot point is changed so far. Nothing is supposed to happen to Aerith at this Point and they already said that the 3 Games will fit into Advent Children which means Aerith Fates must stay the same regardless. You are just gatekeeping and being bitter. The Original is still there to enjoy but its equally fine to enjoy the remake and so far it's not a lesser product.
@@ultrachocobo4795no major plot points have been changed? In this very video Cloud faces off against fate itself (the original timeline), defeats it and opens up a completely new future. There was no fate or timelines or time travel or anything of the like in the original. I'm not shitting on remake, I'm just saying it's not the same story and the changes aren't small. Like the Evangelion films, they're sequels masquerading as remakes.

Even after watching this I still dont understand what exactly happened at the end of FF7R. Timeline reset occured so Zack didnt die and now he will be alive in part 2 but the game continues from leaving Midgar as in original timeline?
I don't think the timeline resets. More like the battle against the Arbiter of Fate created a branch of alternate timeline where Zack survived judging by the difference between Beagle Stamp and Terrier Stamp. I don't think we'll get to see Zack from another timeline meeting Cloud and Aerith from the original timeline in Rebirth. I think they will see each other on the last part of the trilogy where they have to beat Sephiroth at the crater.
Theres two different timelines being shown in the games.

I wonder if this is supposed to be Nanaki recounting the story of the party's journey to his offspring long after the events of the game... in the OG ending the last thing you see is Nanaki and his offspring 500 years later, with the ruins of Midgar overtaken by nature

for those who never played the OG FF7 having Red XIII narrate the story makes sense considering he does outlive his fellow party members by being seen in a post-credits scene labeled 500 year later.

@zackkeogh3515 Oh, for sure. This could also just be a snippet of a much bigger story (which would include things we the audience are not privy to, i.e. the events between the end of VII and the 500 years later epilogue), hence why it isn't going over certain key details. Also, why not a fairy tale? From the scant information shown, the cubs are young and Red has lived for so long that the things he's seen have passed into myth and legend anyway, if they're even still remembered.
It probably will be, considering the scope of Rebirth. It was just a fun thought more than anything.

The narration was given by Red though he might've not known another timeline was created and who Zack is however It's easy to just elaborate,
"After we returned the highway from being in the portal, my whiskers sensed something was different... scent of a member of Soldier was strong then dissolved, I hope to investigate further on my journey with my company."
Then the video could provide a blurry video footage of Zack from the events after FF7remake. I agree it definitely needed to be addressed, I feel so bad for the newbie audience.

Just started Rebirth, and to be honest, I'm already a bit confused with the timespan of events so far if someone could help me out.
Spoilers for the first couple hours of Rebirth...
So, five years ago, Cloud has the events in Niblheim with Sephiroth, etc, etc, that all makes sense.
So at what point is the whole sequence with Zack at the start taking place? Is it after the first game? I thought they were all standing peacefully after "defeating" Sephiroth, so why is there disaster and rubble, with Cloud being hurt, and why are the rest of the party and Aerith there?
Not only that, but in "present" day in Kalm, how have Tifa, Cloud, and the rest of them been apart for five years? Is there ANOTHERR 5 year gap between the end of FF7 Remake and this game?
Overall just confused about the time gaps.

This game was sooo unexpected for me I was about to give up after not knowing how to defeat first boss, but I'm glad I did not! It was such an adventure! Time to buy PS5 to experience Rebirth - it will be twice epic as Remake and we know it!
