Every time I wanted to remember my grandmother, I always watched this show as a young person I used to sit with her and watch this on tv every Sunday how I miss those days rip Nan
Why hasn’t Netflix decided to produce a modern remake of this masterpiece like they did with Lost in Space still upsets me to this day. A modern remake would be just as epic in scope and execution.
As an 8 year old, growing up in Chile, I would not miss an episode of Land of the Giants on Sunday mornings, just before the Banana Splits came on and after the Thunderbirds... Use to love Sunday morning tv.
I watched this and all Irwin Allen shows during the original broadcast, and it actually inspired and spurred on the "Space Race" and inner/outer space research here on Earth. I loved shows like these because no "simulations", and no 'CGI" either! Peace
to this very day, Spindrift is my all time favorite spaceship, closely followed by the Jupiter 2 and the flying sub. I would be jazzed to actually go aboard all 3.
Irwin Allen was truly a tv innovator. No one has ever come close to has output of tv science fiction shows. These shows inspire a whole new generation of fans.
Stefan Arngim and cast really GOT IT! The global, political overtones were ahead of their time 4 sure, but in a very REAL way. Look at the 🌎 🌍 world(s) generally today. Thanks!
even as a child, i innately knew that it was weird to have thunder crashing in outer space. and don't pay any attention to the fact that the giant vehicles in the land of the giants were provided by chrysler.
I was 8 when it aired, I loved it, one part that scared me, think they ran into a cat, and the thought of a tiny person in a cats mouth freaked me out.
It's great how they put it together. The actors playing the giants and the actors playing the earthlings were filming in different studios and never seen each other. I seen a photo once of a old convention of the actors together and Kevin Hagan who played the giant inspector kobick was pictured with them just looked funny seeing him with the actors who played the little people
Don Marshall and Kevin Hagan were reunited on Little House On The Prairie in Season 8 "Dark Sage" which aired on October 26th 1981. Don Marshall played Dr. Caleb LeDoux M.D. who came to Walnut Grove to assist Dr. Baker.
I just imagined they had been through a vortex that had made them smaller and had simply crashed back on earth. It made all the English speaking giants and all their cars and similar earth like lifestyle more sensible.
This show could not decided which direction to go , the giants acted strange in the beginning, it became very kiddie fast. The Allan formula got old very quickly. Only voyage in the first season took a very serious approach but was still fun later on .lost got silly when focusing on the smith character which started halfway in the first season. Saw a few of tunnel and this show and both had a simple child formula. Voyage was fun , this show was a struggle to enjoy.
Irwin Allen, one of the greatest ever!
One of the most underrated shows of all time.
For whatever reason, my parents were just fascinated by this show. My dad just called it "The Little People" and wouldn't miss it each week.

A lovely memory to treasure ❤

Genius idea!
Land of the Giants was definitely my favorite show at that time so much that i actually had a Land of the Giants lunch box.
Those & TIme Tunnel were the coolest ones because they didn't go to syndication everywhere so you had to be "in the know".
This was the greatest Irwin Allen series ever made.
He would say it was time tunnel🥰

I loved the Spindrift. That spaceship had no wings but it had a rudder and that was important🤣

When I was nine years old, I thought this was the greatest thing on TV but even at age 9 I thought the hand look like a giant inflatable life raft
This was such a great show.
Land of the giant's is awesome TV show I enjoy watching too love it 👌👍😃😎♥️♥️
I bought the DVD set a few years back. I am watching them a 2nd time now. Effects were well done for the time.

One of my favorite shows from the 80s ❤️
from the 80s ???????
Love all those series as a kid still do after all these decsdes
A fantastic show and ahead of its time, the premise hasn't dated. The first season episodes especially weren't like anything else on TV at the time.
i LOVE IT. SENSATIOANL, MAGIC....!
I was 8 when it aired, I loved it, one part that scared me, think they ran into a cat, and the thought of a tiny person in a cats mouth freaked me out.
Heck yeah, if you've ever seen a cat vs a field mouse... we don't even have a layer of fur for help.
Deanna was my crush.

@@TheTheo58 i remember that episode of Little House when Kevin Hagen and Don Marshall were in the scene together i thought that was a lovely episode.
This film was distributed in all countries in early 80s
Classic
is somebody else pointed out? One of the cars of the Giants was exactly the same brand as the ones here on earth the sponsors of the show
Used to have the box set
They must have altered hand to change from male hand to female hand.
Hey 👋 wait a minute when this tv show ever been official released on DVD 📀 as a complete series?
Yes both seasons
That show was different from any sci-fi show. Have you seen any show with giant people similar to our earth. They ought to do a remake of it.
I want to know if Fitzhugh is actually a commander in the U.S. Navy. Or did he rip off that identity to somehow get away with that briefcase?
I've never wanted to be a pencil eraser more than at 6:08. 😊
Have you got a rubber?
@@spikephotography😂
"from Los Angeles to Lonyun" What?
Funny how cowardly Fitzhue tried to pass himself off as a US Navy officer 😂

During the original run when I was a kid, I thought they were on Mars. That’s the only thing that made sense to me 🤷♂️.
Kitch
I think the giants were more than 12 times larger😂
Betty was much hotter than Valerie, I have always though.
Ginger vs. Mary Ann…

They need to remake this series on Netflix?
Don Marshall stole the show
he always looked like he resented taking orders from whitey !
Somebody must have held a gun to his head and make him hire somebody black Lord knows he was against hiring black actors for his other shows
Is it me, or did Deanna Lund get hotter.
