Hello Mr. Gibson, I always loved your videos and I wanna thank you for being my inspiration and motivation to start a carrer in the network World. In the next 2 weeks I have my last exam to get my CCNA Routing and Switching certificate and I am already looking forward to start the CCNP in June. By looking your professional installs, your tutorials, it really helped me to choose my road. Cheers from Italy and keep up the great work :)
Thank you for your positive comments you are a unique individual. It takes work to get ahead in IT. I'm hoping you pass your CCNA test it is a good cert and if you don't pass it study and take it again. I have taken my CCNA test more than once before passing. good luck work hard keep learning .
Used to tell prima Donna IT guys that we do not work on their abortions. They never used fire stop even when told numerous times. I retired from a large hospital where they were very strict. Most computer cables were installed neatly by union guys. Had ladder racks in every hallway.
Love this type of video. 11:41 We have a small used car dealership and had an old Merlin 410 phone system up until 10 years ago. I went to an IP based phone system and removed the amphenol jacks and cable along with the 66 blocks. It's good to remove the old stuff and keep the IT closet clean.
Had an experience years ago. Comcast phone would default to a high loop current. This high loop current prevented the "business" phones from detecting when a line was on hold so the phone would pick up the next line to dial out. Interesting diagnosis that was a setting in the cable phone dmarc.
The USA can use orange for data? in Australia youd likely be deregistered but definitely fined, orange here is reserved for LV/HV only ( USA's LV might be equivalent to our (s)ELV. Our LV is 71v ac/120vdc to 1000v AC/1500 DC
USA LV is very low voltage, like POTS voltage or 12v DC voltage for example. Orange is the traditional color for telecom in the US for utility marking and conduits.
Wow. I can imagine the time involved to clean/de-install that room. Thanks Jim for taking the time to make this video, and your commentary.
You are welcome.
Great video. Busy redoing our server room and have been getting a lot of valuable input from your videos. 😀
thank you ! I am happy to help.
Love learning about this stuff!
Great video, Look forward to more :)

More of these! I’ve seen worse but would love to see updates!
the back of the patch panels around 7 minutes are most likely voice. those terminations are perfectly fine for Cat 3
your right!👍
Good video! I wonder how difficult it is to troubleshoot SIP services that have no dmarc at the building
Your right! Take time to do it right. Save time on troubleshooting it.
I believe the orange outlets are protected power, generator backup. You also see them in hospitals. Thanks for the very informative tour.
Sometimes they are for generators. They can also be for isolated circuits for IT equipment in an IT room..

Common ground buss bar
Interesting.
Video looks interesting, however to grab an audience it should show the problems and how they were fixed. Then people will subscribe and come back.
Good point but I do not always get that opportunity.
Identifying them is one thing, touching the equipment is another.
I agree! Never touch things that don't belong to you. Look but never touch.
Unless you have permission.
Good video. Here's the comment u asked 4. Lol
