I think that is an old ticket booth at the end! I’ve seen vintage photos of little stands like that outside the park. Great video! I will always treasure this ride-cancelling it was a HUGE mistake.

Splash Mountain had a huge following at Disneyland, so it will be interesting to see if the replacement can replicate that. My issue with Disney "reimagining" an attraction is that they are trying to shoehorn something into a space that it was never designed for, and ultimately just doesn't fit. The storytelling, theming and overall experience is just lessened. The poster child for that is what they did to Tower of Terror in DCA. That was one of my very favorite rides. I rode Guardians once and I was done.

@@MDSPresentsTotally fair. I hope the emphasis on quality storytelling and memorable characters can come alive again in the American parks. Yay for original ride concepts!

This is such a fascinating video!! Thank you so much for sharing, that evacuation footage is so awesome to see, and it's interesting to see the subtle differences on the ride at this time in its life that I did not know before watching this, like how the storks in the Laughing Place scene had no mouth animation or vocals, and the volume of the Laughing Place hen is much louder and clearer, finally allowing me to hear what her verse in the song sounds like! It doesn't sound like the goose in that scene has any vocals either. Also interesting is how the porcupine's drums and the raccoon's harmonica still quietly play their audio when everything else is silent.
On the big drop, you can hear "the only way out is a long way down", which was the marketing term used for Splash. Do you know if that was part of the ride, or was that something you said while recording? I can't tell!
Would you happen to have any surviving photos of the evacuation? In the video, you told whoever it was you were with to take a picture of the riverboat. If you still had these photos and would be willing (and if its no trouble, of course!) to produce them, I would be forever grateful!
Once again, thank you so much for uploading this footage. This made my week!

Thank you so much for your great comment! So pleased that you liked my humble efforts. My biggest challenge with my videos is trying to make these old videos look better. I have learned a lot about video editing since I started my channel in 2017 and continue to learn. I did say that iconic line, but I never noticed until you pointed it out, so thanks for that. As for the pictures of that day, I will have to search through my collection and see what I have. Thanks so much for watching and please check out some of my other videos!
