This RUclips Channel is better than most. I love the fact that this craftsman makes tools without welding. Many of the channels assume that everyone craftsman has access to welding. You can see that this person is a craftsman, not just another RUclips hack. Well done.
That's a beautiful vise, I like it more than my cast iron drill press vise of the same size. 1 thing I would change, and already changed it on my purchased vise: The pivoting handle lever was a pain to use. I found it slow to turn, and was always grasping to find it or turn it the right direction. So I replaced it with a small crank handle, now I love it.
This is a great example of how to make stuff without a welder. Thanks for the video!

I have never seen such a clean and millimetric work in my life. I usually like all the videos I watch, but I don't subscribe easily. But I subscribed to your channel with just one of your videos. I wish you continued successful work. 😍👍
Great video. My test piece as an apprentice engineer in fitting was to make a precision machine vise using only steel flat stock bar, a hacksaw and files, a rule to mark out and drill/ream holes using a pillar drill. Oh and a lathe to screwcut the leadscrew!
I'm impressed. I am getting into machining and this is a great demonstration. It's the kind of inspiration that gets the creative juices flowing. You earned my sub. Cheers from Wisconsin.
Very nice project, especially for those who do not have a welder, or a lathe. Careful handwork. I also agree with your statement as to why not just buy one. This is the kind of project that gives you practice in measuring, filing, cutting, finishing. Is this a vise one is going to put huge amounts of force on or beat on with a hammer..? NO...! But on a workbench where one needs something sturdy fairly heavy, and easy to maneuver, this fills the need nicely. THANKS for sharing.
I really like it, I do not have a grinder yet, but I will buy soon and make a similar vise. I think the model you built fits 110% to my needs. Thank you very much for posting that nice video. I already subscribed.
Bloody Yippa M8, Will make my own also. Yeh, it might be cheaper to buy one, but, If you make it yourself, you have the pride and satisfaction of knowing it was made by YOU.
Excelente tutorial , la súper/prensa ,un trabajo magnífico , gracias por compartir tanta creatividad y conocimientos , un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón , Galicia (España)🤓 😜
Very elegant. Only seconds of viewing were needed before I knew that you are my kinda craftsman/engineer. Subscribed immediately! Now, can you show us how you will make another beautiful vise using the Kurt Angle-Lock idea, much obliged!
I just subscribed to your channel I really like your work its neat and professional looking . Another reason to build your own tools is the pride of making something yourself that will be around for generations to come. I look forward to seeing more of your projects. Really nice work brother.
Wow💥 you are quite amazing my friend !!! I can't stop thinking' imagine if this guy had a welder💥 thanks for sharing your "incredible skills" my friend 👍
Класс! Единственно что - к этим тискам нужны сменные накладки, чуть выступающие над этими зажимным уголками. Чтобы можно было в тисках не только сверлить, но и пилить, резать.
Really nice build and very good info how to recreate it. The only thing that made me giggle: UNP (the hotrolled U thingies) and 'perfectly flat' in the same sentence 😄👍 over here a straight and not bowl shaped one could be called waste at that point

Anytime you use something you built with your own hands it's 1000 times more satisfying than using something you bought. Excellent design.

Beautiful, but forbiddingly heavy and accordingly clumsy to handle. And non-yielding positioning on the drill's base looks pretty awkward.
Absolutely brilliant WDT, first class engineering and re-purposing. Love it.👍
That is absolutely BRILLIANT...

What's an apprentice engineer?
You made the screw yourself? That's so cool!
سلام بسیارزیبا وتوضیحات کامل عالی متشکرم
This vise is better constructed than ANY cast iron drill vise in its class. The materials used are far superior.
Simply SUPERB Videography ! Not a single second of camera defocus anywhere even with such close up shots !!!
Love this! I watched this months ago! Now I can come back and support. Thanks for this.
A beautiful vise Visual very pleasing . Awesome job

You are an artist!
Your handle - WDT- says it all. Very nice.
Merecidísimo like maestro!
Gracias por compartir y saludos cordiales desde Reynosa Tamaulipas México!!!

Very enjoyable. Thank you showing a non-welded version.
Excelente, un hermoso y preciso trabajo. Una joya de un taller. 👍
Now that is "Yankee" ingenuity at it's finest! Yes, it's easier to buy one ready made, but making your own really personalizes a tool.
Displayed great craftsmanship and integrity.
Brilliant design and beautiful craftmanship 👍🏼
price and non returnable time used = priceless. It's cool to learn how to make one incase
Dude, that is a great looking vise! I would pay for a vise like that. I would bet others would too.
Great job!
You can buy them at Harbor Freight for under $20
I love the angle grinder roller thingy👍
