hello brother my flight is from HYD to Colombo to LONDON to Calgary. I have a layover of 18 hours in london i.e. the flight is landing in london at 7:10pm on 12th dec and the connecting flight is at 1:00pm on 13th dec. You will not need transit visa. But confirm with airlines as well.

Finally got answrr straight form UK embassy has airline ppl are lazy and smart not to give answers. I directly called UK number.wasted 20 dollrs in that.
The reply is if u stay overnight take next day flight, change terminal you have to have trasit visa .the pricessing is 3 weeks they Said. Still no gaurentee. They check back balance also
You can get the visa provided you fill it correctly. I got my Visa in 5 days. Upload your flight itineraries, bank statement, canada work permit. It should be good.

If you are travelling from US. You shouldn't need transit visa. But confirm with your airlines
Do they grant transit visas easily? I mean what would stop someone overstaying? Are the requirements quite strict?
It depends on many factors. If you have legitimate reason they will provide you with Transit Visa. But you need legitimate reason+ documents substantiating that.

If someone wants to book a trip but will need to change airports in London (36 hours layover) what supporting documents are needed? Just proof of ongoing flight information? Do they question the layover time period?
@@SabrinaStrawbs when I got my transit visa I submitted these documents.
1. Travel Itinerary (My flight details to and from London)
2. Visa for the country that was my final destination.
These two are your most important documents in my opinion.
Other than this I also submitted.
Bank Statement
Also, when applying for transit Visa i clearly mentioned in the extra section the reason for my travel.

Hi bro. I have a Canadian visa and valid work permit and will be traveling back to Canada from india via London Heathrow.. but the transit layover is 14 hrs and it is overnight. I will be reaching London by 8 PM in the night and my flight to Canada is in next day morning 10 AM. Hence 14 hrs overnight transit. Do i need transit visa ?

If you need to collect your luggage then I believe you will have to go through border control. Even if it is in the same airport.

Your visa will have 3 month validity.
The validity will start from the day you get your UK visa.
The date you mentioned while you filled the form is Irrelevant here. You can change your date.

However, as per my information, you don't need UK transit Visa if you have Canadian Visa.
But you need to Leave UK before the next day midnight from the time you arrive in UK.
