Yo I completely forgot about that Reds game! Thanks for posting this! That 2010 Phillies team was 48-46 at that point in the season. They turned it on after acquiring Roy Oswalt at the deadline. Go Phils!
The Phillies and Reds played a 4-game series in Citizens Bank Park July 8-11, 2010 (Thurs.-Sun.). Each of the first three games went to extra innings, with the Phillies walking off in all 3. But each got to extras a different way. Thursday, Phillies blew a small lead (twice). Friday, the Reds blew a big lead (shown here). Saturday, the teams were scoreless after 9. Reds starter Calvin Wood took a perfect game into the 9th. Ruiz broke it up with a leadoff double but was stranded. The Phillies pitcher who went 8 shutout innings that night only to get a no decision (was pinch hit for in the 9th) had a far more memorable game the next time he faced the Reds at home - Roy Halladay. By Sunday, everyone must have been exhausted The Phillies won their second straight 1-0 game, but instead of in the 11th inning, that run was scored in the 3rd. This time, Ruiz also led off an inning with a double to become their first base runner, but this time, he came home on a 2-out single by Rollins
You know those random games from your childhood that you somehow remember? This was one of them. That game was kind of his coming out party. He never looked back.
That first triple play came in the 1st inning of a game the Phillies lost 12-0. Ironically, it was the 2nd game that decade in which the home team lost 12-0 despite turning a triple play. The White Sox lost to the Angels in the other one. Another coincidence - Aaron Rowand was playing centerfield during both TPs. So, those 12-0 losses could have been even worse.
IIRC Howard hit those tying and go-ahead HRs off the bench

Amazing 😘
Love these
Damn, completely forgot that Juan Pierre played for the Phils.
Now that is an obscure piece of trivia.
Worth mentioning we lost that Dominic brown game :/
2:25 thunder sticks
2:27 pin drop
I love how Dominic Brown hitting a go ahead homeroom is an obscure highlight, never forget he was an all star some how 😂
Fun fact: that triple play at 3:14 was the only inning of a 15K complete game by Hamels that he was unable to strike someone out lol
