I prefer the video version because I enjoy watching the expressions on everyone’s faces when they talk and interact with each other and the audience. This is my opinion.
Me either. Watching them in listening at the same time is the best 🙏
I my husband had a serious car accident 6 weeks ago. He can no longer work. Over the last 6 weeks, our lives have been turned completely upside down. But, as we are both minimalists and have been for 5 years thanks to you guys, this extremely challenging time has been just that bit easier to navigate. Over the last 6 weeks due to not being able now to financially cope on just my small part time income from being a private guitar and piano teacher, we had to: 1) break our rental lease and move in with our daughter 2) sell, donate, throw out 70% of all our belongings so we wouldn’t need to rent a storage unit and could fit only what we needed in our daughters home. 3) sold both our cars 4) I’m now about to make the biggest change of all, change careers from some thing I’ve done all my life and truly identified with- being a music teacher. I now need to work full time to support us and have just been accepted to work as a medical receptionist ! It was the first job I applied for in an area of interest that I’ve always said I’d enjoy if ever I needed to change jobs! So I feel it was meant to be. Today’s podcast hit a home run for me, when you all talked about the most difficult things people have let go of! After the events and massive changes I’ve faced recently, this podcast was invaluable in helping me realise that it’s possible and ok to let go of anything and everything and still live a good and happy life!! Thank you!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Wishing you both the best🙏🙏and sending big hugs and love to you❤🥰❤
Wishing you, your husband, daughter and loved ones all the best. You have faced immense challenges, so it should be smooth sailing from here, as they say. Thank you for sharing your story. You deserve all good things coming your way.
I let go of societies idea of a perfect mother and started the journey of being the mother my 3 year old daughter needs.
That little m bumping everything out of the way is mesmerizing to watch.
What was the most difficult thing to let go of? The idea that I was poor. Getting rid of a lot of stuff made me realise that I don't need to be able to afford the latest shiny thing, because I don't actually need more things. I have enough to live comfortably with what I have. I have managed to save more money now than I have during my entire working life. That's saying something when I am now living off a couple of (I was going to say, "small") comfortable pensions. The word I keep using is 'comfortable' and that is one that perfectly describes my life now. I am not 'poor'.
This is unbelievably relatable to me!
I love how Ryan refers to simplifying as a practice just like prayer. That really put the concept into perspective for me. Well said!
Got rid of all my cheerleader memorabilia and stripper outfits & shoes. I'm a Landscaper now; traded heels for work boots- talk about a lifestyle change.
I can never give up my pleasers. 😂
Whu wouldn't you sell it for cheap
@@julieu9692bet your good at dancing
😂😂😂
Like seeing you much better.
I have heard it said this way that pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice. It is really the story that we tell ourselves about our pain that determines if we suffer.
The perspectives you have brought into my daily life are extremely useful. I have donated and trashed so many things i didn't use/need, and it feels like those things were hiding the ones that are actually valuable to me. But this is also the case mentally : getting rid of useless worries made me able to have more time to concentrate towards things that are important to me... It is very scary and very freeing. I am so very grateful for that, thank you.
When I was told my liver was failing and I would eventually need a transplant. I started decluttering and purging. But in the middle of it I got rushed to the hospital b/c my body was shutting down. I spent alot of time thinking if I died how is my teenage son going to deal with my stuff?? After almost a month in the hospital and spending another month in a rehab after my transplant I returned home determined to purge things I don't need. It's a struggle to not to have a connection to belongings. 😢😢💖
I love love love the audio version. The more I let go , the more I become my true self :)
I love this episode and especially the Dance analogy!
Hey wait TK never got to say what he was going to say...now I'll never know
Two of the hosts are well prepared and concise. The third just rambles and does not add much anymore.
we still love him.
Nice one ❤
Ryan is such an applause hoarder! 😉 😂😂😂
How bout Kevin James dancing in 'Hitch'? 😂
Minimize inputs to multiply focus
Tom York. King of Lim video, Lotus Flower, 2011. Simplifying =dancing. Enjoy it. No "destination".
Reminds me of the Garth Brooks song The Dance.
"I'm Listening"👂on YT.
Wait why is there video versions right now?
😘
And here I thought Schenectady was a town in New York.
İ missed your cute faces 😢❤
I don't understand anything, why is there no video anymore?
I'm not trying to be rude but the moving M on the screen makes me so motion sick that I can't watch this anymore. It's too distracting to not look at it, and then I get sick 😅. Is there somewhere else I can go to listen to this without having to be tortured? Lol
@katie187 It doesn't allow me to scroll down on my phone or TV? My phone still keeps the youtube video almost pinned to the top. I found them on Spotify, so I will be listening over there instead! Problem solved 😂
I think the point is that there's nothing to watch 🙃
I have RUclips premium, so I forgot people have to sit and watch the you tube screen. I can listen and exit out of RUclips while texting, scrolling on other apps. Oooffff grateful for premium!
I didn't realize that youtube premium offered that as well. I just thought it removed ads! I'm going to check it out, thank you!
Will we ever see Malabama's face?
What I would do…Simblyfyimg more. Sorry for my English.
Wasn’t it hard to let go of your long hair as that was “ identity” oriented?
The ultimate minimalist was Jesus Christ! He sacrificed himself so that we could be saved.
Please take the Ryan of the comments in the show , he has no clue what he is talking about
What do you mean?
Im moving in two months n half!! N im trying to minimize my life with husband n two kids! 8 and 2 :) any advice is appreciated!! ❤
Wow… this episode without the video while i decluttered was like therapy. It left me emotional. 🥲 Great stuff, thanks guys!
I understand the argument for getting rid of the camera and switching to audio only, but I can’t do it😢 I’m not able to focus my attention when I have nothing to look at, this is the 4th episode I’m trying… My mind instantly wanders off🫧
The perfect set up to pop on the video in the background whilst getting on with some decluttering. 😉 There's nothing to watch, but lots of motivation.
