thankyou i am watching u your lessons on this cmd over and over as i got such a bad memory which makes it harder for me to learn but you teaching is very good and understandable to a absoloute begginer like me so thanx again xx
Welcome back Bucky! This series is awesome because you help break the fear of "oh shit, what if I make a mistake". Used the >> with an absolute path. Thanks Bucky!
Bucky, sending my appreciation your way. I hope you continue to add more lessons to your Windows Command line. May I had I would like to see Git tutorials by you. You are fun to listen to even though I get distracted when you burb... Hope you keep this channel alive for a long time, my friend!
Man, you are cool I kind of wish if I understand everything you say though lol. I mean I am beginning to learn stuff from the absolute zero and so somethings seem to be "common knowledge" to everyone when you say them and I go like ooh wtf was that ? anyway your videos are cool, useful, easy and funny. especially how you jumped in your train of thoughts from lala land to boston and then to tunafish lol.
I tried tree > bacon.txt. It worked. But the characters is not the same when viewed on a notepad. But it is the same when viewed using cmd with type bacon.txt command.
Hey man. Love the lack of structure in the videos. Its fun not knowing what you are going to learn next. I do have a question though... echo command works when creating txt or doc files but not docx. Why is that?
What is the difference between using “echo” to create a file, folder and using “mkdir” to create a file? Or they are the same in functioning the same results?
Hey, I've been following your tutorial up to the point where you overwrite and append txt to the bacon.txt file. It give me access denied where I try those commands even though I'm using cmd as admin. I also tried the following change permissions command: CACLS bacon.txt /G User:F
+JuiceWater then your computer is broken, that shouldnt happen. make sure youre not just logged in as admin, make sure you hit Run Command Prompt as Admin
why am i getting access denied every time i try to echo something to this bacon.txt It worked the first time and i echo hey just like the tutorial but after that i have been following the same and suddenly erroe
it gets deleted permanently. it can be restored using third party softwares, but only a shortly after deletion and if its a small file, because as soon as you "delete" a file, your OS marks that space on your hard drive as empty space, and allows other files to be written over it. So the longer you wait, the more likely it is that something will write over it and make the file unrecoverable. Also, the larger it is, the higher the chance of it being overwritten in the same span of time.
if you type "echo ayush " in the cmd -> ayush will be displayed in the cmd ................ that means after echo anything will be displayed on the cmd ..................
I have a question I'm trying to fix this problem maybe you can help problem (2 Unlimited - Get ready for this FD.mp3.i1tyz2) as you can see I have a file with 2 ,exts I need to remove the last one lucky. Thanks Bucky!
you did not include echo command in your previous videos, i think it is a command to create files "echo [content of file] >[filename.filetype]
i just like this man.. in how he is teaching and explaining the points.. may God bless you

Thank you so much. I have learned how to use my computer. That sounds weird but it's true.
love your clases....
i think bucky really loves bacon
great fun banter😊
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if you delete a file through the cmd, it does NOT place that file in the recycle bin for later recovery.
Most deserving guy for lottery. :-)
Hey buck I want to ask if there is a way to store trees in text files the way you stored the directory results?
I tried tree > bacon.txt. It worked. But the characters is not the same when viewed on a notepad. But it is the same when viewed using cmd with type bacon.txt command.
Hey man. Love the lack of structure in the videos. Its fun not knowing what you are going to learn next. I do have a question though... echo command works when creating txt or doc files but not docx. Why is that?
when i try to delete my old windows folder in other drive after some some proccessing it says access denied can get some help please
If you made the other lesson, you probably made it read only. Try attrib -r bacon.txt (or whatever your file name)
What is the difference between using “echo” to create a file, folder and using “mkdir” to create a file? Or they are the same in functioning the same results?
I tried to create a text file using mkdir but it created a folder. I don't think you can create files with mkdir, you can create directories only
Did you win your 1.5B powerball :)
this guy is probably the best
may you teach us how to make programs?
hello sir , i'm having problem when using this command as ACCESS DENIED .
please help me how do I overcome this error.
just remove the read-only attribute (check last video) and try deleting the file again !
did he ever mention echo and >> in his previous videos?? Feels like first time im seeing them.
I tried deleting a file, but it says "Access Denied" how do I get rid of that?- it also denies access in typing something in the txt file
I think you're not the administrator user in your computer. And the administrator locked it or something.
hey man where are you I just went through your channel where are you!!??????
whAT is the difference between remiove directory and del directory
did i miss the " echo" part ? I'm assuming its a command to write in text
What if someone wanted to remove a specific word from that file, how could you do that?
Bacon, tunafish, someone was hungry.
Just a doubt.. Can we append and delete only text files???
Any videos on how to run a command line program?
thank you is not enough
hi! could you explain the significance of echo?
Why are there always 2 directories as . & .. shown? What are they
4:00 tried it with other commands. it works with "path" but don't work with "tree". with "tree", came out some weird characters.
very useful!
when i either try del or echo > it tells me access is denied
Hey, I've been following your tutorial up to the point where you overwrite and append txt to the bacon.txt file.
It give me access denied where I try those commands even though I'm using cmd as admin.
I also tried the following change permissions command: CACLS bacon.txt /G User:F
It's probably in readonly.
@@ZSd4cT does it have to be hidden for it to work? Because I've been getting access denied too
same time I am taking this course 1:45am
What echo stands for??
sir i have tried the delete bacon.txt command but its giving me reply that the access is denied pls can u help me with me that
When I tried to delete the file, it said access denied. Any help with that?
youd need to be an administrator
What if I am administrator? Nvm I just removed the read-only attribute 5 seconds after writing this comment.
+JuiceWater then your computer is broken, that shouldnt happen. make sure youre not just logged in as admin, make sure you hit Run Command Prompt as Admin
Josh Wirth
Did you read my edit? Lmao and my computer would be fine just my OS would be messed defective.
from last video Bucky made bacon.txt read-only. In order to delete it you need to remove the read-only flag
*attrib -r bacon.txt*
5:18 how did he get normal text on notepad ++, I get garbage text instead of | and - characters? Anyone knows?
What if you want to append a result
can you remove the first 40 seconds of this video then reupload it?
If i type in echo Shit > mytext.txt
it says access is denied
How to compare 2 files?
it didn’t let me delete the file it said access denied
How do I append to the same line?
When I type ".txt" to a new mkdir, it creates a folder not a text..
As dir means directory, not file.
You can save it to your clipboard by typing dir | clip
why am i getting access denied every time i try to echo something to this bacon.txt
It worked the first time and i echo hey just like the tutorial but after that i have been following the same and suddenly erroe
you're in an innaccesible place
when you delete a file in cmd promt, it doesnt show up in thew trash bin, where does it go?
it gets deleted permanently. it can be restored using third party softwares, but only a shortly after deletion and if its a small file, because as soon as you "delete" a file, your OS marks that space on your hard drive as empty space, and allows other files to be written over it. what's the difference between rmdir and del?
one removes a directory the other removes a file
isnt directory and folder are the same?
LazyVFXGuy indeed but a directory and a file are not the same look it up
www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001320.htm (i've checked)
goddamit i said FILE not FOLDER
why 2 Dir are shown alaways after all files are deleted in any folder
+Subhojit Pramanik
. (one dot) means the current dir
.. (two dots) means the parent dir
every dir has these 2 members
there also copy con sample.txt and add add more text for end- ctrl c
what if I wanna add text betwen 2 lines?
What's the different between rmdir and del?
rmdir is for removing a directory and del is for deleting a file. Files and directories are not the same thing.
what is echo?
its basically a command to add files in the directory..
thats what i know nopt sure about it-
if you type "echo ayush " in the cmd -> ayush will be displayed in the cmd ................ that means after echo anything will be displayed on the cmd ..................
I tried deleting a file and I was given a response: Access denied plz help
3 years ago but... Probably it was your readonly file. Try to remove the r attribute from it, and then you'll be able to delete it.
Bacon... tunafish... porky... are you hungry by any chance? haha

One question tho... Why always bacon?
+Nobel Dahal It's not always bacon...sometimes it's tuna
PRECISELY! Too much bacon causes cholesterol. Tuna gives Omega 5! ^_^

Yeah whether he teaches html css javascript java or whatever bacon tuna are like his keywords
how to read the exsiting file?
same. cd to file location and do type on it
little did he know that 4 yrs later Agressive vegans may not approve of his .txt names lol
how to show the contents of the usb drive
diskpart
you can change the current drive to the USB drive
by typing D:
assuming that ur USB drive is D
then type dir or tree
pls wats the difference btw rmdir and del
David Olaboye rmdir is use when we want to delete the directory(folder) and del is use when we want to delete any program or picture or anything else
rmdir = to remove/delete a folder/directory , del = to delete any single file
First #1
Not only is it redundant, it's also completely superfluous.
