also one thing I realized I forgot to mention in the Myeongkyun vs Youngjoon drama is the anonymous chat rooms. Basically anonymous chat rooms open up for everyone, one at a time, so in Myeongkyun's Youngjoon takes over the chat asking Myeongkyun why he asked such a cryptic "anonymous" question and Minseon gets upset with this bc Minseon wanted to use this time to text Myeongkyun. Youngjoon eventually apologizes after Minseon brings it up at a later time that this incident hurt his feelings. But anyways my thoughts on this are still on Youngjoon's side. Some people found it selfish, but from Youngjoon's perspective this was his only opportunity to really interrogate Myeongkyun (is the 5 minutes that meaningful for minseon? I personally think eh not rlly) I'm sure Youngjoon is dying to know what Myeongkyun's thinking and why he did that. I also agree with Youngjoon that it's good for Minseon to know what he's getting into, but from the other perceptive (which is Minseon's) is that you don't need to know the past which is valid as well. All in all wanted to make sure I mentioned this moment bc I don't want to skip anything that could make Youngjoon look bad, you gotta know the entire picture to make a decision. Youngjoon is maybe not my favorite person ever (like shun from the boyfriend) but I still stand by liking him the best amongst His Man 3 cast.
bcs of all the reviews i was very conflicted before starting s3 , yesterday i finally did , mostly cus i had nothing else to watch ( i knew the reviews were bad , still.) honestly i enjoyed the first 4 episodes but seongmin began to annoy me with the love triangle ofc not blaming him entirely but yea , so i came up to look for a summary and your video literally gave me all the tea i needed lol 😭😭😭 you perfectly narrated it all and i was able to connect all the dots even tho i didn't watch 10 next episodes. it was fun listening to you and your povs cus i genuinely agree with most of them so yes. and ugh the season ending actually sucked i hope the next seasons will be better. ALSO I MISS S2 ROOMIE BBS
Aww I'm so glad this was helpful! Tbh I made this video exactly for people like you because I'm also the same way! Sometimes I just need an entire show spoiled just so I know if a show is worth investing my time or sometimes I don't want to watch and still want to know what's going on Totally made my day that you liked the video ty for watching!!
In his man 2 what I liked the most except junsungho was the cast's bonding with each other..they were literally like family.. but in this season I couldn't find that at all..
i didn’t completely watch his man 2 to know but i definitely felt like the editors missed out on the friendships like ive always felt like youngjoon and minseon were close but we never got to see it 😩
Before watching the video, I saw a comment here talking about how The Boyfriend is better than *His Man* Season 3. It's not just this comment, but I see the same type of comment a lot-people love comparing and saying The Boyfriend is better. But the thing is, I’m really curious about what type of logic people are using to compare it to The Boyfriend. The Boyfriend is a month-literally a whole month-while *His Man* is just a week. How do you think you can compare them? It's like comparing someone who has a bicycle to someone who has a car. If you think it's the same, that’s crazy. People think it's cool to compare them without logic. I hope that common sense finds those who compare them soon because that’s wild to me. If they want to compare them so badly, then His Man-despite having only one week to figure out their feelings-did their best and ended up with a couple and friendships between the cast, despite the short time. But no, the audience still doesn’t care. Since the people they shipped didn’t work out, nothing else matters to the audience. And if the show has some people misunderstanding each other, or they get loud, fight, get confused, or have a change of heart because of the overwhelming emotions they experience in this short time, then this show is bad for them. And for *His Man* Season 2, if Seonwoo had been a little more affectionate and straightforward with Seongho, then Seongho would have definitely chosen him, and people would have been hating on Seongho for the next ten years. But since Seonwoo wasn't trying hard, in the end, Seongho chose Junseung, and now people love him because that's what people want to see. He is considered a good person now, and everyone loves him. But I know very well that if he hadn't chosen Junseung, he would have been hated, and people would have made him a villain. I think if you can’t appreciate and be empathetic with the types of emotions the contestants expressed, and understand it's not a drama and you can’t put yourself in their shoes, then it’s better to stop watching reality shows. Because that’s the beauty of reality shows: they show real people with real behaviors, with all their flaws imperfections-normal human beings.
I definitely agree you can’t expect the same things from His Man 3 and The Boyfriend because even stylistically they’re different with The Boyfriend omitting so much detail relative to time frame whereas His Man 3 includes A LOT of detail considering the time frame, it’s literally longer than The Boyfriend despite having a week in comparison to a month and a half of content 💀 but i personally find no problem with comparing the two and saying one is better, since they are both dating shows. i think my issue with his man is the fact THERE IS a couple and there’s friendships that we didn’t get to see on the show, I genuinely think we are missing seongmin and jaeseung moments and even if there aren’t moments to show their interest at least interview them to hear their thoughts! like i said in the video i didn’t mind the love triangle or the argument bc it wasn’t even that crazy, the argument was even interesting to me bc it rlly was exemplifying two different communication styles with no clear right or wrong. for his man 2 i think if seonwoo and seungho did end up together people would’ve still liked it bc they would’ve been like a fall in love first sight (ish) trope but idrk bc i didn’t read reactions for his man 2 that much lol i think my issue w his man was more the production team. with better casting (not about individuals but about finding people who would click friendship/romantic wise regardless of how things end) better editing or a better missions i think the show could’ve been enjoyable. even the week long format is a production decision and with the one season ive watched it doesn’t seem to be working well unless the production team has a different vision than what i would’ve enjoyed.
I think your analysis is about 90% spot on. This show, compared to “The Boyfriend,” is no way near close. I couldn’t get involved with any of them and why Seongmin was so popular (sorry), I couldn’t see it. I also liked YJ and I was actually hoping he and MK would resolve their differences and like each other. Actually, for me, that was the only interesting drama on this show. Watching some of the latest videos on YT, there’s still a chance. Problem with YJ is that he’s not very introspective….well, a lot of them aren’t looking at this….but, as you pointed out, the editing is everything…..I think what MK did was because he was so frustrated since he didn’t get closure. Also, with people in general, so much depends on their background, which makes a big difference on how we are perceived…not just our own perspective watching them. Hyunmin ended up being why worse for YJ. Did you also watch “Sparks Camp 2?”
I actually would’ve been interested in seeing a loveline between Youngjoon and Myeongkyun as well, but he didn’t make any moves and kept going along with Minseon and angering Youngjoon I eventually lost interest especially bc they seem bad for each other with their communication styles 💀 also did not see sparks camp 2, probably won’t any time soon bc the boom of kdramas has been keeping me busy!
