- Lyca had always felt that it was the power granted by the stars that allowed her to thrive on the battlefield, repelling the Hypogean threat. Now, with that power taken from her, even if she escaped this ordeal, she dreaded facing the hopeful eyes of her clan members. Could she still lead as their commander, protecting kith and kin?

The voices in her head are the players saying another wilder should have ascendend first
the way they not only serve beautiful cinematic but also good plot that not every other games can do it. I've seen many cinematics that just filled with full complexity and I was like "huh?". but this, this is perfection!
My biggest revelation from this is that I've been mispronouncing Ogi for five years 😂

As always Great hero cinematic, love her story, and love her design, idk if y’all take suggestions, but I think there should be a system where we could swap awakened heroes with their non awakened counterparts. It would make obtaining them much easier for players that are Free 2 Play, kinda like the scroll that we get for completing Chapter 24
As a F2P myself it's actually quite easy to get the Awakened heroes. I've only been playing a year and I already have 5star ascended Talene, and about a dozen other Awakened hero copies. Heck just the other day I was super lucky and got ABaden from one of those purple cards with the gold emblem (forgot what they're called). The devs have been super generous with giving out Time Emblems so I can't personally complain with how much in handy they've been ❤

She's insanely strong now. I have her on trial run and I just went from 650 to 700 in King's Tower with her in the formation!😅

oh wow I didn't think I would relate to a character so much. I even got all teary eyed at the part when she was in the fetal position wanting to give up. Well I think I know who my 2nd fav. hero is (Nevanthi is first) :)
To be honest, despite how I like Lyka, in my opinion this trailer isn't as good as the trailers for the other ascended heroes.
It's too cliche, maybe? Don't know, but I'm feeling that something is off.
Everything about awakened Lyca feels very low budget, low effort. Her model is almost the same as her gladekeeper skin and is nowhere near as fancy or detailed as all the other awakened heroes. Her story is very cliche and cheesy-not to mention…. She just… awakens herself? With the power of friendship? Lmao Overall, in-game-strength aside, Awakened Lyca is extremely disappointing
@@popington4674 Ye. I would prefer something more dark. For example, if the illusion did break something in her and she would cease to be a captain, but would instead awaken as a spirit of vengeance. No longer the protector of the forest, but the enemy of those who dared to attack it.
The hypogean succeeded to corrupt her, but that that awakened in her, make him regret his actions.

While not the best or most original storyline, I like what this gives us in terms on insight into Lyca. From the start, she was someone who became the prophecy not because she was born special but through her hard work. The idea that instead of being proud of that, it weighs her down because she doubts her worth is a very interesting take on the trope. She doesn't awaken through the power of friendship, rather it is when she accepts that her effort and work are enough. That she is enough.
This is especially interesting if you look at the additional lore provided by Dolly's Corner and even the artbook lore. Lyca is the older sister of Lorsan, who is by all definitions a special boy. He's a natural born wind whisperer who got his powers at an extremely early age while Lyca had nothing. The main reason she worked hard wasn't even originally to protect the forest - it was to gain access to her brother again after he was taken away. She became the prophecy and subsequently the commander against the wishes of most of the Wilder sages. Now we're learning that she has doubts about her worth as a commander and as the prophecy because she was by no means special.
I really enjoy this take on her and how it shows her inner turmoil. That said, this trailer feels... short. Her story in-game made me think she spent days wandering sealed away from her powers and barraged with visions of everyone condemning her and playing into her insecurities until she realized that her strength was never in the special powers she got from the spirit deer but rather in her own hard work. The trailer doesn't do that storyline any justice.
@@popington4674Agree. Safiya was great with her power hungry motive, but Lyca is just... meh. Nothing interesting abut her.
@@alexandramusilova8148 it’s not really that interesting tbh. “Average guy/girl who becomes a hero through hard work/crazy event but doubts if they really deserve it-in the end only needing to believe in themself to succeed” has been done countless times. Maybe not in AFK, but in general media it’s very cliche and worn out. Also, the concept that someone can awaken themself through hard work and belief in themself tears down the entire point of what being awakened means and reduces its value. Every other awakened hero has a HUGE event that causes their awakening. Talene fights Framton, dies, and is reborn through Astar. Ezizh breaks free of tasi’s control allowing him to be free and much more powerful. Belinda, Brutus, Solise, and Baden all were gifted elemental emblems which are one of a kind supernatural artifacts that were part of the creation of the world. Safiya was corrupted by the void core that fell from space. Maetria was already a solarian/obsidian finch, but then got hypo powers on top of her already divine-being powers. The only hero who didn’t have a huge awakening event was Athalia who also seemed to just… awaken herself by choice. She was at least a demigod already by being a celestial. Lyca is also awakening herself by sheer belief, but she’s just a mortal…. It completely cheapens the awakened hero lore to be able to do that. Both her and athalia are very flawed because of this
Why not make movie? Kinda look forward if you make a movie of the whole arc. And even the dimensional character movie how they came to afk arena
