Nice, looks like you are having a fun adventure! For anyone planning this, there is absolutely no where to get food or drinks at the Istanbul side... So stock up before you leave the main city (or if you forget and have time, go two stops back on the local train)
can you tell me about the security check please ? checking passports and things, and for how long, every stop they check or every 2 stops, 3 or more, and thanks
Hi. We went to the ticket office the day before. I’m not sure you can do it online. The ticket office is around the corner from the domestic ticket counters.
We booked the tickets about 2 days before. It seemed like you could just turn up on the day and it wouldn’t be full but we didn’t want to take that chance.
You can also book in advance through third parties. Obviously it coats more but still pretty good value. I'd recommend this if you are relying on a specific day to travel and your budget isn't super restrictive.

^ this is good advice.

They checked all these things at the border crossing. 2 stops. One at the Turkish side. One on the Bulgarian side. Very easy. No luggage check.
If you do the overnight from Istanbul to Sofia expect to be awake from about 1am until 2/2:30. As long as you factor that, it's all good.
What actions have you taken? Thank you
What is the application used to buy the ticket...
We went to the ticket office in Istanbul
Hi, can i know how to u booked the ticket in advance? Thank you very much

@@Travellingtockburys thank your very much for your reply. Then maybe we should also go and buy at the counter in advance.
Let us know how it goes. You can probably just turn up on the day. We’re just cautious people and wanted to make sure we had a ticket.
How far in advance did you book the tickets?

How much was the ticket cost?
It was just under €35 each.
