It only makes sense how Simon could end up breaking up with Jackie and marrying Lynette only six weeks after they met. Being a childhood friend of Lynette's, Jackie would've been able to provide Simon with all she knew about Lynette (her interests, senses of humor etc.) so he could seduce her.

    Excellent recap
However that last scene he's not watching her rehearse, he's visiting during a performance waiting for her to finish as all the others leave, presumably to talk to her

I still can't believe how the actor who played Poirot is the very same person who played the cold psychopathic villain in _Tenet_ .

I personally think that though Kenneth Branagh is a brilliant actor, he is not an authentic Poirot. I have to say that David Suchet is still the best Poirot in my opinion.

Euphemia was such an unlikeable character to me. She hires Poirot to investigate Rosalie and Poirot basically tells her Rosalie is a great girl and is worthy of her son's love, and then inexplicably still disagrees with him and is still against the relationship and gives basically no reason for her opinion. Because of this and also considering the fact that Rosalie is black woman in this adaptation, she just came off as a racist to me. In the original book, Rosalie and Tim (Bouc in this film) get his mother's approval and they get their happy ending. Bouc could still be one of the ones who die, but it doesn't make sense why she couldn't just give her blessing after Poirot, who is meticulous in his work and whose conclusions are always correct, tells her Rosalie is a great match for Bouc.

Even though Linnet was set up by Simon & Jacqueline from day one, I don't feel sorry for her. She betrayed someone whom she considered "a friend". Linnet was an individual who thought she was a good person. Almost every decision she made was out of self-interest. For example: did she pay off Louise's fiancé's because she truly thought he was no good or because she simply didn't want to lose an assistant?

While the movie was flawed and some of these key moments were not from the book, the movie as well as the some of the scenes were good. But I prefer the David Suchet's Poirot TV movie version much superior(plus the actress who played Linnet Ridgeway on that TV version was a young Emily Blunt aka the badass woman from Tom Cruise-starred Sci-fi action film, Edge of Tomorrow).

They truly do not need to remake any of the Poirot movies. Kenneth Branagh is indeed a wonderful actor but he is certainly not the Christie vision of Hercule Poirot. He doesn’t fit the physical description and the mustache they have used for the character is absolutely ridiculous! The definitive Poirot is David Suchet, who has completed playing Poirot in all the short stories and novels in the Poirot canon. What he embodies is exactly what Agatha Christie had envisioned. In fact, David Suchet researched the character extensively and did his upmost best to portray Poirot as she described him. If you want a true version that is close to the novel, please watch the adaption with David Suchet. There were only slight changes in the storyline, where this adaption takes far too many liberties with the characters, plot and the storyline. Please, stop making these adaptations! They are a disgrace!

Movies are not books. What works well in books, does not necessarily work well in movies. Also Peter Ustinov is the real poirot, even if agatha christie did not like the humor.

I despise Kenneth Branagh’s idea of Poirot’s character. It is nothing like Agatha Christie’s character at all. Also his movies are a far cry from the original story by Agatha Christie.

I read the book and the film has nothing to do with it or the charakters. The problem is not in the details here. The sloppy making is just additional. Also in the book were no people of color and in this film half of them are (to show how nice the world around the 40' s was), but only to show them as flat, stereotyp and dirty as they can be. If you thieving property from great literature, make it a good one.
My Englisch isn't good enough to express what a spit in the face this was.
