      @@EatYourBackyard I have a buddy who lives about 5 to 6 miles away from me. My property is all sand with pines and turkey oaks. His is covered with hard wood trees like hickories and such. I get the golden chanterelle mushrooms, but he gets the scarlet chanterelles, I think because of the clay content of his soil. Anyways, when I first met him I thought he was crazy because he doesn't plant 1 or 2 of anything (like me, lol) he plants hundreds, WTF ?!?!? Da-uh, plant more, get more, who woulda thunk, lol.

    I bought a couple sets of these last year (sets meaning 3 to 4 trunks pet set) planted them in the ground on a protected south side of my yard, Central Texas zone 8b. Unnnnfortunately we had an unusually snowIcepocalypse and it killed all my palms, all my well below freezing palms for my zone 😞😭😭😭 I even had Christmas lights on them 24/7. Texas lost lots of palms last February, even ones 30 to 50 feet high, pretty old ones.

      Most excellent. Snow in Texas? What's next? hehe.

    • @sunnycharacter
      @sunnycharacter 3 года назад

      @@EatYourBackyard Well, it is Central Texas so occasionally we may get an inch or so in January or Feb, but it melts fast. This was unprecedented.

    So you don't have to soak and peel them first like all other videos suggest? Interesting. Thanks!

      I think you increase the odds if you remove the nut cover, however, if it is kept wet it will work either way.

    I swear I just grabbed some seeds of these off the ground the the other day out side the place I had breakfast looked like a mini date pit I did not eat at though😆

    Hello, thank you for this video. I just took Phoenix roebelenii seeds on vacation in Tunisia, but the seeds are orange. Is it possible to use them? Will they germinate?

    • @EatYourBackyard
      @EatYourBackyard  2 года назад +1

      Your welcome, stoked you like it. Yes, it is important to harvest the seeds for germination when fully ripe, more yellow or brown, then lay them on top of the soil to germinate. I hope you will subscribe to my new original music channel JediJingleMaker, check it out and leave a comment, thanks! ruclips.net/channel/UCmX3Zx6o1_g1fsmRqzfXj7A

    You give your palm trees cute little names like 🤗 Rogue-Bellini, but you call your chickens all😏 "Chicken ?
    ❤Thank you for sharing this info and yard tour✌️😎🌴
    ..... 🤔You know what? I just realized something: You just mentioned them soil you use (nothing too shocking there) and I have SO many (like TOO MANY) plant and have watched so so SO many garden videos....So I should definitely know this....
    But I actually am STILL not sure I even know what 🥴"garden soil"🤨 exactly is...🙄admittedly ...
    🤔😏hmm.😒THATS kinda embarrassing l... ☝️😐 think I might have to go look into that (like 10 years ago, err) right now!
    (Wow, haha that was long and rambling and random😅 All because of "Rogue-Bellini"🐔)
    .... k that'll be all now! 👋😃Tootles!
