For those who are curious about the history of this song, here is what I found: The song was written by *Văn Cao* (the author of _Tiến Quân Ca_ , the national anthem of Communist Vietnam) in about 1945. (vov.vn/van-hoa/am-nhac/nhac-si-van-cao-va-nhung-sang-tac-ve-de-tai-cach-mang-545725.vov) According to Phạm quốc Nam (Obviously he doesn't like this song), the song was used as a military anthem by the Republic of Vietnam Navy until *1969* . The Republic of Vietnam Navy anthem Nam learned when he attended naval training school in 1969 was another song, _Hải Quân Việt Nam Hành Khúc_ (March of the Vietnamese Navy) composed by Commodore Nguyễn Hữu Chí. (chienhuuvnch.com/2018/01/18/bai-hat-hai-quan-hanh-khuc-nam-1969/) I guess the Vietnam People's Army Navy does not use the song, although they believe it was written by Văn Cao for the Việt Minh. The lyrics of this song is available on the Communist Party of Vietnam website "Nhân Dân", but the author's name is given as Việt Dzũng, a deceased anti-communist singer! (nhandan.vn/bai-ca-chien-si-ha...)
I remember watching an interview where Việt Dzũng was telling abit about his escape from Việt Nam after 75, and in that same interview he mentioned of another musician/composer before him also by the name Việt Dzũng.
Văn Cao’s family did say that this song that Văn Cao composed was definitely meant for the Vietnam People’s Navy, not for the Republic of Vietnam Navy. However, in 1945 , the Vietnamese navy has yet to exist and the song ended up not being sung or used in the Vietnam People’s Navy when it later formed in 1955. On the other hand, the RVN Navy in the south adopted (stole) this song as their navy anthem without permission from Văn Cao, and as you said, was used until 1969 when the RVN navy adopt a different song for their navy anthem. Hanoi does acknowledge in recent years that the Air Force and Navy anthems that Văn Cao composed was meant for their Air Force and Navy and have begun to play such songs on state-run television and other media outlets related to the Vietnam People’s Army. On the other hand, I believe Nhân Dân journalists made an ignorant mistake by mentioning Việt Dzũng’s name as the author/composer when he has no connection to this historical navy anthem song from Văn Cao.
Vessels featured are: - RVNS Tran Hung Dao (Bow marking 1), ex. USS Camp (DE-251). - Possibly RVNS Le Van Nga (Bow marking 701?), ex. USCGC Point Garnet (WPB-82310), or an unrecorded vessel. - Vessel with 251 mark, not sure what that vessel could be. - Possibly a cut 3 marking, indicating either RVNS Tran Nhat Duat (ex. USCGC Yakutat (WAVP-380)) or RVNS Van Kiep (ex. USS PC-1167), although the former is more likely. - RVNS Thi Nai (Marking 505), ex. If anyone figures out the rest, you may add your response or correct my mistakes if there are any.

@JVP 888 Vietnamese but believe Chinese propaganda?? At least, Vietnamese communist died for protecting Spratly Islands while ARVN run from Paracel Islands for protecting their own life
I mean, certainly the PVNN can retake and defend the Paracel Islands, right?! Nope! The islands are still in Chinese control, and the “Vietnamese” Government has failed to procure them within 50+ years. And take your “CoPy CoMMuNiSt” bullshit somewhere else, we quite literally *DO NOT CARE*.
@@bonktonk74 You're talking about something that hasn't happened yet. Currently, Vietnam has not recovered the Paracels does not mean that the future cannot. Your conclusion is too sloppy. I am talking about the Army of the Republic of Vietnam has sacrificed to protect the sea and islands? - No! They ran away despite their superiority in weapons. At the same time, the Republic of Vietnam also lost the island to other countries such as the Philippines and Malaysia, and Taiwan. While since 1975 until now, Vietnam has only lost the island to China once because it had no advantage in weapons and communist soldiers died for the Fatherland, different from the Republic of Vietnam. The communists have been protecting the Vietnamese territory very well
@@qu.andoiz 1. Vietnam will never recover the Paracel Islands unless a joint or coalition force assists them in crippling the Chinese Navy and recovering the Islands (which won’t happen) 2. South Vietnam was fighting a war on all 3 fronts, inside; north; West; and the Sea. Furthermore, the majority of South Vietnamese Naval Vessels were vessels intended for coastal defense, and they were in considerably smaller numbers than the Chinese vessels (The Chinese were weak, but not too weak back then). 3. Malaysia, Philippines, and Taiwan were South Vietnam’s ally, it was not taken over by force or by hostile action, merely joint occupied. To think that 4 allies would randomly shoot at eachother and ruin eachothers’ diplomatic relations for some islands is absurd. 4. The Vietnamese Military as of now, is the largest military force in the world numbering 11-12 million personnel, how can you blame South Vietnam for losing the islands when you are now much more equipped, have much more manpower, and a considerably stronger navy than the previous South Vietnamese Navy? At this point, you’ll have to face it, Vietnam is scared as shit that they’re gonna get their asses handed to them by the Chinese.
@@qu.andoiz When the RVN had to fight the Chinese Communists, they did not have modern warships. Even if they won that battle, they wouldn't be able to keep the islands if the Chinese communists really wanted to take it. Remember then all RVN warships were American junk from World War II, while the Chinese Communist Navy had frigates and destroyers carrying HY-1/2 anti-ship missiles with the range is over 40km and they have dozens of them, not to mention dozens of other Type 024 class missile boats. While the Vietnamese Communists were at war with China at the time, they had Su-22Ms carrying Kh-28 missiles with a range of 110km and a speed of Mach 3 but could not even defeat China, so how the RVN with only obsoleted cannons could against anti-ship missiles? Even now the VPN buys dozens of modern weapons from Russia, but they still don't dare to deal with China like RVN, so you don't have the right to say those words.
