►MIKHAIL PLETNEV is recognised as one of the finest artists of our time. He won the Gold Medal and First Prize in the 1978 International Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 21, which brought him early recognition throughout the world. In 1990 he founded the Russian National Orchestra, joined by the best artists, and later founded the Mikhail Pletnev Fund, which supports major national cultural projects. A member of the Russian Cultural Council, in 2007 he received the President’s Award for his contribution to the country’s artistic life. The cumulative roles of pianist, conductor and composer are all important aspects of his life as an artist. However, he has the humility to always consider himself as a simple musician.

►I have had an international career as a musician for 44 years - this is my passion, inspiration and my whole life!
►I have worked with many stars such as Zubin Meta, Daniele Gatti, Theodor Kurtenzis, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Anna Netrebko.
►I've performed on stages such as La Scala, Berliner Philharmoniker, Mariinsky Theatre, Opernhause Zürich.
►Since 2000, I live and work in Switzerland with my family.
►In 2012, the idea of creating the ArtDialog project was born. ArtDialog Festival is a festival that brings together music, painting, the art of winemaking, theatre and dance.

Thank you so much! You are absolutely right. The questions were very simple and primitive, but it is not always easy for intelligent people to answer them. Our goal was to speak the language of youth, and it seems to have worked! Mikhail Vasilyevich is incredibly scintillating and accurate!

I am crazy of him directing the Schumann 1853 violin concerto with Gidon Kremer. The quality of the video is not nice, but... for me the best piece of music ever, although me being mainly a piano music lover ;)

Спасибо большое за интересное интервью с маэстро. А есть где-нибудь его комментарии по поводу того, что у него отобрали оркестр из-за того, что он не поддержал СВО в Украине?

На вашем канале я оказалась только потому, что люблю творчество Плетнёва и наблюдаю за ним с тех пор, когда он ещё жил в России. Надеюсь, вы понимаете, что не из-за вас. Также меня волнует судьба РНО, так как случайно узнала, что оркестр разорвал контракт с маэстро. Где маэстро живёт, я в курсе, но это не мешало ему регулярно бывать в России с концертами. Я действительно переживаю за судьбу оркестра, созданного Плетневым, в отличие от вас. Вам судя по всему наплевать на то, что лучший оркестр мира терпит бедствия и может прекратить своё существование, если не найдут замену Плетнёву. Я не верю в то, что музыканты добровольно отказались от сотрудничества с маэстро, поэтому задала этот вопрос, но оказалось не тому адресату. Насчёт СВО погуглите, если не в курсе. Всего вам хорошего. И да, я не подписана на ваш канал. Надеюсь, вы удовлетворены моим ответом. Было бы здорово, если бы вы больше не беспокоили меня своими вопросами

Maestro Pletnev is not old! Sixy- six is not condidered old in 2023. Some people don't understand age. It is a healthy mind and body. Mikhail Pletnev's brain is that of GENIUS and he has good health. Who can play, conduct and compose like him?😊

He changed his style a lot after returning to playing piano. Its much calmer, thats true. One might like it or not. But that's definetely not physical limitation but musical decision.
