Kalaripayattu is one of the oldest martial art forms in the world that originated from the state of Kerala. In this video, we explain the use of Gadha in martial art. This heavy wooden weapon is also known as a mace or club. One has to follow strict rules and regulations while using this weapon and the body needs to be strong and agile. This video demonstrates the use of Gadha by the combatants as they spar at the Kalari.

I think, the Gada is more of a showfight weapon. Too heavy for actual war.
Onehanded flanged maces and twohanded Polehammers were used in wars instead.
