I'll tell you one amazing thing, i was listening to this last night while drawing and when i slept one of his song was playing in my dream over and over. and the amazing thing is i didn't know it was his song till 2 hours ago. i used to listen to that song in 2013.
Nah people be talking bout just how theres so many sound effects but like damn lets appreciate how they be used???? Like the usage of these sound effects is actually straight art over here. Its not just mashing on a soundboard, this is entirely constructed and optimized to sound the best it can in this song. Like holy shit it sounds like they were made for this except its just their superb fuckin usage of these sound effects that give that illusion
It reminds me of a mental disease called, Alexithymia. Where you don't understand your emotions, but you're body is still functioning as if nothing happen. Tears yet you aren't sad. It's like you're living inside and body that lives on its own. The ringing and the consistency of being confused with how you feel, it's like you are going to explode. At this point, the only thing you know you feel is nothing, like a void of emptiness. It's like to everyone you are normal but you stay up all night knowing you feel empty.
IIs0mxII oh man, that sounds terrible. While I love the theory, I feel so bad for anyone who my struggle with this. You’ll get through, stay strong everyone! :)
BloodMoon heyo! I wanted to help you as much as I could, so I decided to take it upon myself and look up Alexithymia, and find more about it, what causes it, how to prevent/help it and more! I’ll also link all the website I looked at below, in case u wanna find out more! I’ll put it in a separate reply, I have a feeling it’ll be extremely long! I hope it helps! And I hope things get better by you! Just gimme some time, and I’ll type out some stuff that should help! :)
Overview: Alexithymia is a broad term to describe issues with your emotions. While it is not well known, it is estimated that 1 in 10 people have it. You are not alone. Symptoms of Alexithymia: Many people who struggle with Alexithymia say that they have difficulty expressing the proper emotions, such as happiness at pleasant and joyous occasions, or sadness at a gloomy setting. Others may also have a difficult time identifying their emotions. Just because someone has this disease does not mean they are apathetic, but they instead may not have strong of an emotional sense as others, and have difficulties feeling empathy. People with Alexithymia may experience in social events: - anger - confusion - difficulty “reading faces” - discomfort - emptiness - increases heart rate - lack of affection - panic This condition may also make it difficult to interpret body changes as emotional responses. For an example, people with Alexithymia may struggle understanding that a racing heart is linked to excitement and panic, but you are still able to acknowledge you are experiencing a psychological response at the moment. Causes of Alexithymia: Alexithymia is not well understood. There is a possibility it could be genetic. Another cause could be brain damage. The insula, the part of the brain that manages emotions, social skills and empathy, can possibly develop lesions, in which some studies link these lesions to apathy and anxiety. Other causes include: - Links to Autism There is a wide range of stereotypes linked to people with autism. Some can be associated to this condition. Some research indicates that half of the people who have autism also have Alexithymia. It is Alexithymia that causes the lack of empathy, not the Austin itself. - Depression It is possible to experience this with depression. It has been noted in major depressive and post-partum disorders, as well as schizophrenia. Research indicates that 32-51% of people with depressive disorders also have Alexithymia. - Trauma Alexithymia has also been noted for people who have experiences trauma, especially during young childhood. Trauma and neglect at adolescence can possibly develop changes in the brain that make it harder to feel and identify emotions as the child gets older. Other diseases linked to this condition include: - Alzheimer’s disease - Dystonia - Epilepsy - Huntington’s disease - Multiple Sclerosis - Parkinson’s disease - Stroke - Traumatic brain injury Diagnosis of Alexithymia: Alexithymia is diagnosed by a mental health professional. A mental health provider may ask you questions and provide a diagnosis based on your responses. You may also be asked to answer a self-reported questionnare. Another possible test is and MRI scan performed by a neurologist. The scan will provide images of the insula, which controls you emotions, social skills and empathy. Keep in mind there is no singular test for Alexithymia, much like many mental illnesses. It may take multiple tests and time to receive the right diagnosis. Treatments for Alexithymia: Currently, there is no single individual treatment for Alexithymia. The exact and proper treatment varies on your overall health needs. For example, if you have depression and anxiety, medications for those conditions may also help the emotional health symptoms. Therapies may also be helpful for Alexithymia. Possible therapy options include: - Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) - Group therapy - psychotherapy (also known as Talk therapy) How to Cope with Alexithymia: One way is to start being mindful towards your own psychological responses. Research has suggested beginning with your heart rate. Notice whether it increases or decreases in certain situations. A heart monitor or fitness can help. With time and practice, you will become better at distinguishing an increase in heart rate from excitement and fear, for example. Another way is to keep a journal. Use it to keep track of your emotional patterns and physical responses. Negative emotions are just as important as the positive ones. Learning and training your body how to work with them, rather than against them can lead to a more fulfilling life. Conclusion: While not life-threatening or seriously dangerous, Alexithymia can make even everyday tasks, such as talking to your friends or going to school, extremely difficult. Alexithymia can also cause relationship and interpersonal issues. It is important to see a doctor if you feel you can’t express your emotions or recognize yourself or others’ emotions. With the right diagnosis, treatment, and dedication, you can overcome the condition, and live a happier, better life. Ahh, sorry if there is any grammatical issues! I gave myself a headache from all that reading and typing! But I hope this helps! And I hope you get well soon! I only wound up using one website, if you are interested in finding out more! A simple Google search also works! Website used below!! www.healthline.com/health/autism/alexithymia#takeaway
Someone else pointed out the fact that "kara" means "empty" in japanese and "cara" means "face" in portugese, so i like to interpret the meaning of this song's title as "empty face"
This is actually one of veryveryvery few song that actually give me headache especially at the "cartoon" sound effect part but i still come back to it even if make me so damn nauseous lol
Kikuo really is the only one who's able to make music that gets under my skin in a really uncomfortable way while also being really good. I love it but it's terrifying
@@firewolf4824 it's often the meaning behind them while also playing with fx in a way that messes with you. This song literally makes me dizzy and I feel scared when I decide to listen to it, but it also helps me to let out emotions and confront past situations that I otherwise would have locked away. His songs mean a lot to me
I am through 10/14 albums right now. Seriously if anyone can make someone listen to so much music it's kikuo, he's constantly reimagining his distinct style, you never know exactly what to expect
For a long time, I have had depression, insomnia, and crippling anxiety. When I first heard this song, I immediately fell in love. I didn't even know the lyrics, but it still felt so...relatable. The music, the singing, the craziness. I remember listening to this for the first time late at night and thinking "This sounds like insanity." I laughed the first time I listened, but not because I thought the song was funny, but because of how it managed to capture that feeling of emptiness and desperation. The feeling of that hollowness becoming so overwhelming you can *feel* it, *taste* it. I also cried when I heard it, I think. Now that I'm finally getting the chance to properly analyze the lyrics, I'm simply taken aback. To some, this song is nothing but nonsensical analogies. To others, it makes all the sense in the world. Kikuo's songs always evoke such emotions, which is why I love his music. Every song manages to capture the exact feelings of the people it's meant for, and that's so beautiful. Thank you, Kikuo, for giving me a bit of emotion in this seemingly inescapable emptiness. Side notes about the lyrics: "So I can't sleep, I can't sleep, I can't sleep..." Couldn't relate more. My depression, anxiety, and ADHD all caused me to develop into an insomniac. "We empty ones are jingling, chiming cutely. We crybabies are like a soggy flute that's soaked with tears." These lyrics are such a smart way to depict the feeling of desperately trying to call for help, but not being able to. Especially the "Howling, howling..." part. "Cackle, cackle, piercing cackles, laughing, clip-clop, cackle cackle, how fun." No longer having the ability to properly cry, you let out desperate sob-like laughter. Perfectly depicts the feeling of being on the brink of insanity. (I'm too lazy to write any more notes, so thank you for reading.) *TLDR: Insanity perfectly put into song.*
Kikuo has this capacity of making song that perfectly fits the description of "art disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed" all his songs make me want to cry cause his songs can be interpreted in different ways he makes it so that even the background have a meaning word can be interpreted literally or in a different way.. People would just find it weird but all those sounds make me want to cry but it comforts me so much at the same time
Wow, I actually have a very similar experience with stuff like this. There’s this strange thing that has to do with either anxiety or depression or something (I don’t exactly remember because of how long ago it was that my therapist told me about it) where you can have the inability to cry. This is personally what I struggle with. Sometimes I can cry for a second but then I feel completely numb. Sometimes it hurts so much when I can’t let out my emotions via crying that I just laugh in pain. This is why I’m glad I can find music that resonates with me in ways that most things can’t. Also thank you for sharing your personal experience with this song, it made me feel like I wasn’t alone in the emotions I experience. ❤
@@TheSleepySevi'm glad i've found my people, i always seem to express my emotion in a "wrong way", i cry when i should laugh and i laugh when i should cry and every day i feel so empty, i just don't understand my emotions at all. i see my emotions like those distorted emojis playing in the video, i love how music always finds a way to make you feel less alone
From my perspective, this song feels like it's about the intensity levels of mental breakdowns. The deformed emojis, are the random thoughts and feelings that will drive you insane during your breakdown. Your emotions that you've felt before, and the situations that you experienced got mixed up/altered with your present memory/mindset. The bell ringing could mean the tears are falling faster and faster, while your heartbeat will beat faster than ever even if you're in the middle of the mental breakdown. The "I can not rest, sleep.." part is probably them trying to take a rest after the mental breakdown. Help I don't know how to explain.
I feel like none of us are appreciating this work the way it deserves to be. The production is so complex in its differing melodies for each ear to the overlapping, almost maddening tracks that feel like this isn’t one song but rather hundreds, all fighting for your attention around you. You can hear where each part is coming from giving it a very encompassing feel, like your surrounded by them. He really went all out on this. Sometimes I listen to a song and think “I could do something like that” but I wouldn’t even know where to begin with this beast.
The lyrics: actually sad and traumatic The sound effects: 💃💃💃💃 Edit: why was there a war about the 💃💃 emoji in the replies lmao Edit 2 Electric bogaloo: came after a long time, still a banger, the sound effects are also still 💃💃💃💃 Edit 3: im still alive 💃💃
Yo but can we appreciate the complete contrast in 5:00 to 5:20 where the song is actually somewhat “normal”? There’s no background noise, the melodies aren’t distorted and the instruments are recognizable and pleasing. This part that’s actually normal ironically creates such unnerve when juxtaposed with the chaos that is the rest of the song

(Just to clarify, I haven't actually been diagnosed with Alexithymia, but after researching many different articles about it, I do believe it's likely that I have it) This song is immensely special to me. For many years, I didn't know what was wrong with me - I thought I was emotionless, I was so confused because I couldn't tell what I was feeling or understand when I was feeling anything. When I laughed I could inspect myself and not understand why I was laughing or what emotions I was feeling. After coming across this song, I found a comment describing Alexithymia, and I didn't think much about it at first. But later, I researched Alexithymia and found I could relate to what I was reading. This song describes all the confusion I feel, and my inability to describe exactly what I'm feeling. I stay up at night so long just searching for something I can recognise, staring at the ceiling. Everything in this song describes perfectly what's going through my head. It makes me feel recognised. Thanks so much Kikuo for making songs like this TLDR: I love kikuo
I really love the art. It really represents Alexithymia well. Alexithymia is a mental illness where you can't figure out emotion, it's confusing for you and doesn't make sense. The disoriented emojis represent what people with Alexithymia feel when trying to define emotion. Some of the emojis you can see but most are so disoriented that we can't recognize them as faces, with eyes and mouths being on the side of faces. Kikuo uses facial recognition to describe what it's like for them, which really hits close to home. The lyrics are even better; describing the emotions they are SEEING but can't figure out. The dancers feet for happiness, the ringing for laughter, the bells for overall emotion; (the bell rings from the dancers feet hands and neck) etc. One of Kikuos best work. My favorite part is the random noises. They have a bigger meaning than what it looks like. At the beginning we are greeted with a bunch of different unfamiliar -and what seems like random-sounds. Then right after, we here a computer trying to process something (or running into an error). This symbolizes how someone with Alexithymia's brain tries and fails to process and recognize emotion. This is truly a work of art, and SUCH an underrated song.
As someone with autism who experiences Alexithymia, yeah you explained it really good! Actually, earlier today my class was talking about what we feel when we feel a certain emotion. I was just there like “oh yeah I know. oh I didn’t know that. lemme write that down-“
Isn't alexithymia more of a symptom? It could be a symptom of autism, depression, and anxiety I think. At least that it what I have read on multiple sites.
@@Miu-vw3qz fr like you see that the world isn't changing, that absolutely nobody can help, so its just funny bro. its just so funny that the world is one that keeps you running and hiding, and the pit will never fulfill itself.
for me it's the exact opposite , i used to emotionally feel so much and felt every emotion at once at one point or another . now i feel emotionally numb and empty while letting out a bemused and humorless chuckle or small smirk
the part at 4:58 is absolutely fascinating to me, the two instruments are playing parts that sound completely different but still work together and can be unified in a cohesive way, it's SO COOL
As someone with untreated BPD, this song is exactly what it's like. You feel something, you don't know what you're feeling, rage, self hatred, depression, you don't know. But it's there, dancing around in the emptiness. Your self image is distorted. BPD is like sand. Everything, your mood, perspectives, emotions, thoughts, shift to the whim of the 4 winds. Having ADHD just makes it so much more difficult too.
this whole piece explains mental breakdowns, anxiety, and overthinking Edit : just read Goodnight Punpun and listened to this. Now im having a breakdown please help. Happy late new year everyone! 2021 06-20
Kikuo has one of the most unsettling lyrics and yet he has such a way with each of his songs have banger arrangements with different textures. Kikuo is truly one hell of a kind
"kara" in japanese is "empty" but in portuguese "cara" is "face" so, the emojis make sense for the people who speak portuguese, is a different interpretation
@@_sspaxed_1926 I’m practically used to that now, but still like op said it’s something that you’d at least experience once when you find out about Kikuo
I see this song as someone deep in their depression. They have no hobbies, no friends, no family, and overall just feel empty and alone. So, to try and fix their horrid mental state, they go out and get a hobby (the first bell). Even though this is something extremely small, the hobby fills them up and gives them a reason to live. However, this hobby eventually gets boring and tedious and they fall back into a state of depression. While they are in this state, they meet either a friend or a lover (the boy). As they get closer, the person realizes this boy they met has an entire life (friends, family, hobbies, a career, etc.) and, since they are close, he wants to share it with them (the boy being covered with bells). The person remembers how happy that first hobby made them and jumps at the chance to pick up new ones. However, these hobbies don't make them happy and this confuses them (them talking about how they can't sleep). Why aren't they happy? The busier you are, the happier you become, right? So maybe they have to be patient, they think, and they keep going along with their new life. But, eventually, it get's to be too much for them. They feel way worse than when they started and they need to fix it. So, they pick up more hobbies, join more social groups, and more as they desperately try and recreate the happiness that first bell gave them (the bells filling the void). But nothing works and they just get more and more upset and stressed.
Lyrics: My happiness is never achievable. I'll always be behind and everything I love fades to no meaning until I'm endlessly chasing an empty dream and ending up a void of myself. Song: BOING BOING BEEP BRRRRT SKRRRRAP SKRRAP TINGALINGALING BEEPBOOP

I think someone’s pointed this out, but I love how the song is called “emptiness” and yet the song and the screen is crowded with emotions and sound affects.
Thanks Kikuo, because 3:28-5:32 truly helps when I'm so stressed. This part just allows me to release my repressed negative emotions and it just makes me lighter afterwards
these types of songs need to be introduced to English teachers because these lyrics have a lot of meaning and people can define it in so many different ways its very interesting

@@dasutanehineri "tho, if it does lead a curious kid to find more kikuo songs, then its great!" Maybe not great, considering the lyrics of some Kikuo songs...
True, i love when people find new music, but like, from what I’ve seen people aren’t really crediting the composer, I guess. So how are more people gonna get into the vocaloid fandom if they don’t even know what song they just heard? Especially when there’s younger kids or people with short attention spans who won’t bother to try to find it.
Graph Yeah it’s great that more Vocaloid songs are getting recognition, but half the videos where people use them don’t even give proper credit. It’s a pain in the ass to track down regular tiktok songs, but vocaloid songs are nearly impossible to find unless you speak Japanese. People just gotta treat it with more respect- give credit where credit is due.
@@catcactus1234 well, yeah, youtube recomended me mind brand so that's when i started loving the vocaloid fandom, then i knew a lot of japanesse songs, even tho, its really hard to find them on tik tok bc you will mostly find popular songs, not underground songs
@i change my pfp constantly I agree, no normies allowed lol. Personally, in my book, you have to be able to name at least 6 vocaloid songs and at least 7 vocaloids.
I'm absolutely certain they dunno what Gomenne is about. Someone named that audio of it "cute song" and I kinda stared at it for a second like "deadass? You sure about that?"
As someone with social anxiety, this song actually makes sense to me in a way. I don't know the lyrics and I doubt that this is what it's about, but the complete and utter chaos going on in the music even though the background is tame but confusing. It's like there's so much going on in your head at once but nobody sees. You're having a conversation, and you can't tell how the other person feels about you, and you start wanting to cry hence the distorted faces. I've had too many experiences like this, and it's kinda sad that I'm getting used to the feeling. I know that this probably isn't what it actually means, but I like to interpret it as this.
Remember some wise words- “if it’s a song by kikuo and there’s no eng sub and it’s a bop it’s better off not vibing to it and not knowing the lyrics.” Trust me it’s messed up The edgelords in this reply chain are cringe
So, I've seen some comments (in English that is) talking about what the artwork could mean, and thought I'd add my two cents (maybe a little late lol). So a couple of things: "kara kara" is a pretty unique onomatopoeia (in that theres no ENG translation to my knowledge) that is pretty much the "sound" of silence. The sound of silence, if you think about it, is like ringing; hence the bell motif. But in the song, at least when I was translating it, the singer repeatedly alludes to the "ringing" being inside them. I.e, the bells the singer talks about are referring to people who are empty inside. The lyrics as I understood it alluded to wanting to break themselves open, and so to me, the long string of cartoon sounds is them essentially beating and trying to force themselves open, driven mad by the "ringing". Circling back to the artwork, I think that they're both crushed bells and distorted emojis. But to be more specific, they're "bells" that have self mutilated and have gone crazy over it. And they increase in number until the whole screen is filled. This is my interpretation though lol EDIT: it came up in the replies so I'll explain a bit more my understanding of "kara" So, to be clear, "karakara" in katakana is the onomatopoeia. In manga it's when, say, a character shakes an empty canister. Sometimes, in ENG translations, there's something like "empty~" at the side. That's what karakara usually translates to in that case. However, "kara" can be taken to be one of two things: the word that translates to empty, which has a corresponding kanji character (but can technically be "spelled out" with hiragana so to speak), and to mean "from". As in, from one place to another. It can also translate to "because". Katakana in creative works, however, isn't strictly for loan words and ononatopoeias, from what I know. An analogy for it in ENG is using italics. Grammatically speaking, italics is used for foreign words and such, but in creative works, it can be used as emphasis. It's something like that. So the title, "kara kara kara no kara", which is written in katakana, has multiple ways of translating it imo. The easiest is the one Kikuo wrote, Emptiness, Emptiness, Emptiness of Emptiness. One other way is the one in the captions: from the depths of emptiness.
@@komorebi301 it's also a word. Usually, if they mean the ononatopoeia, it's written in katakana, but it's not a strict rule for more creative stuff. It can be taken both ways.
Can we talk about the fact that the drawing is REALLY similiar to the hole dwelling one? Looks like something, but when you try to identify it you can't even decide where to start, like counting stars
Yes yes yes!!!! I was just thinking that! I have no idea how Kikuo draws something that we can't process in our brain. like it would make me really confused to draw it!
I think they're meant to be smiley faces drawn by someone who's under some kind of psychosis. They remind me of the clocks Will Graham from the Hannibal series drew when he was suffering from encephalitis.
2:15 CAPTION TRANSLATOR, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS OF THE CAPTIONS. I can't get this song out of my head istg, randomly I just start to go: Kara Kara Kara Kara- which means it's a really REALLY good song! Keep it up Kikuo!!
If one looks hard enough, the odd indentation and shapes to the faces look a bit like the shape of an ornamental bell. Now line that up with the lyrics, which are loaded with symbolic references to bells. Kikuo is so genius.

How ironic is it that a song called, "Emptiness, Emptiness, Emptiness, of Emptiness" would be so full of sound effects. Filler sound, perhaps. Ironic.
Maybe it's a person's auditory hallucinations/thoughts in the emptiness of the night, not allowing him to sleep.
@@fictionlover2064 That is an interesting theory, indeed.
Perhaps it's that it's all happening within a certain instance in a certain amount of space that wont reach out very far into the said emptiness
Perhaps it refers to the abundance of sounds and music but the lack of meaning, hence an emptiness. A lot of noise with a lack of purpose

I think I've just found a name for what I've been going through for 4 months now. Do you know what could help this?
BloodMoon heyo! I wanted to help you as much as I could, so I decided to take it upon myself and look up Alexithymia, and find more about it, what causes it, how to prevent/help it and more! I’ll also link all the website I looked at below, in case u wanna find out more!
I’ll put it in a separate reply, I have a feeling it’ll be extremely long! I hope it helps! And I hope things get better by you! Just gimme some time, and I’ll type out some stuff that should help! :)
Overview:
Alexithymia is a broad term to describe issues with your emotions. While it is not well known, it is estimated that 1 in 10 people have it. You are not alone.
Symptoms of Alexithymia:
Many people who struggle with Alexithymia say that they have difficulty expressing the proper emotions, such as happiness at pleasant and joyous occasions, or sadness at a gloomy setting. Others may also have a difficult time identifying their emotions. Just because someone has this disease does not mean they are apathetic, but they instead may not have strong of an emotional sense as others, and have difficulties feeling empathy. People with Alexithymia may experience in social events:
- anger
- confusion
- difficulty “reading faces”
- discomfort
- emptiness
- increases heart rate
- lack of affection
- panic
This condition may also make it difficult to interpret body changes as emotional responses. For an example, people with Alexithymia may struggle understanding that a racing heart is linked to excitement and panic, but you are still able to acknowledge you are experiencing a psychological response at the moment.
Causes of Alexithymia:
Alexithymia is not well understood. There is a possibility it could be genetic. Another cause could be brain damage. The insula, the part of the brain that manages emotions, social skills and empathy, can possibly develop lesions, in which some studies link these lesions to apathy and anxiety.
Other causes include:
- Links to Autism
There is a wide range of stereotypes linked to people with autism. Some can be associated to this condition. Some research indicates that half of the people who have autism also have Alexithymia. It is Alexithymia that causes the lack of empathy, not the Austin itself.
- Depression
It is possible to experience this with depression. It has been noted in major depressive and post-partum disorders, as well as schizophrenia. Research indicates that 32-51% of people with depressive disorders also have Alexithymia.
- Trauma
Alexithymia has also been noted for people who have experiences trauma, especially during young childhood. Trauma and neglect at adolescence can possibly develop changes in the brain that make it harder to feel and identify emotions as the child gets older.
Other diseases linked to this condition include:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Dystonia
- Epilepsy
- Huntington’s disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s disease
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
Diagnosis of Alexithymia:
Alexithymia is diagnosed by a mental health professional.
Treatments for Alexithymia:
Currently, there is no single individual treatment for Alexithymia. The exact and proper treatment varies on your overall health needs. For example, if you have depression and anxiety, medications for those conditions may also help the emotional health symptoms.
Therapies may also be helpful for Alexithymia. Possible therapy options include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Group therapy
- psychotherapy (also known as Talk therapy)
How to Cope with Alexithymia:
One way is to start being mindful towards your own psychological responses.
Conclusion:
While not life-threatening or seriously dangerous, Alexithymia can make even everyday tasks, such as talking to your friends or going to school, extremely difficult.

Side notes about the lyrics:
"So I can't sleep, I can't sleep, I can't sleep..." Couldn't relate more.
(I'm too lazy to write any more notes, so thank you for reading.)
*TLDR: Insanity perfectly put into song.*
Kikuo has this capacity of making song that perfectly fits the description of "art disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed" all his songs make me want to cry cause his songs can be interpreted in different ways he makes it so that even the background have a meaning word can be interpreted literally or in a different way.. People would just find it weird but all those sounds make me want to cry but it comforts me so much at the same time
I can tell

This song is immensely special to me.
Thanks so much Kikuo for making songs like this
TLDR: I love kikuo

Now it's making sense to me and love it :o
What a great theroy and I learned something out of it take my like
Also explains the illustrations of the emojis. All of them look distorted, never telling what emotion they're doing.

You know what? I'm actually GLAD TikTok has taken in this song.
We can't keep gatekeeping vocaloid, or the fandom's just gonna die.

Oh, the lyrics are kinda similar, except it's about not knowing what emotions are.
It's Alexithymia, where someone doesn't understand emotions.
You can turn on the captions to see the lyrics

This is my interpretation though lol
EDIT: it came up in the replies so I'll explain a bit more my understanding of "kara"
So, to be clear, "karakara" in katakana is the onomatopoeia.
Ooh sounds legit! Like how they're yellow emojis looking things
But bells?! I gues so cool
This is a perfect explanation, I was thinking the same thing with crushed/deformed bells but couldn't put into words why.
Raindrop woahhhhh, that’s really cool! I really, really love that! Nice job!
If kara is just onomatopeia how come it's translated to emptiness in the title?
@@komorebi301 it's also a word. Usually, if they mean the ononatopoeia, it's written in katakana, but it's not a strict rule for more creative stuff. It can be taken both ways.
Can we talk about the fact that the drawing is REALLY similiar to the hole dwelling one? Looks like something, but when you try to identify it you can't even decide where to start, like counting stars
Yes yes yes!!!! I was just thinking that! I have no idea how Kikuo draws something that we can't process in our brain. like it would make me really confused to draw it!
@@Anji.2004 actually Si_ku does the art for most of kikuos works! And yeah shes really talented at this sort of thing

@@getrope4209 it kinda looks like if an ai tried to make emojis
I think they're meant to be smiley faces drawn by someone who's under some kind of psychosis. They remind me of the clocks Will Graham from the Hannibal series drew when he was suffering from encephalitis.
2:15 CAPTION TRANSLATOR, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS OF THE CAPTIONS.
I can't get this song out of my head istg, randomly I just start to go: Kara Kara Kara Kara-
which means it's a really REALLY good song! Keep it up Kikuo!!
If one looks hard enough, the odd indentation and shapes to the faces look a bit like the shape of an ornamental bell. Now line that up with the lyrics, which are loaded with symbolic references to bells.
