For the "metal detector" bit, lots of non-ferrous metals are currently used in surgical procedures that wont set off metal detectors or be a risk in MRI machines. Titanium screws and plates currently are in my skull after brain surgery.
This is one of the few chosen games from 'last gen' I truly wish would get a sequel. I know the team is busy cranking out Yakuza remasters, but still, please, whenever you find the time.
@@almalone3282 Well, in their defense, Like a Dragon doesn't seem to be a numbered sequel. I haven't been following it that closely to be honest, as I'm not really hyped for 'the next-gen'. However, if it is a spin-off, at least it makes more sense than Yakuza: Dead Souls.
The sequel's plot would probably be pretty sweet. The sequel hook implies a story about someone discriminated against for her ancestry leading a (shooter-style) activist group of her minority against the people who call her subhuman.
"A crane as a boss fight." Given that Yakuza 7 has a boss fight against a crane, I think someone at RGG Studio has a thing for fighting heavy machinery.
You know, I bought and beat the game just to watch this video. I dont regret it one bit. The gun play is so satisfying. It's also the best action movie I ever played. Fun fact, my mother in law accidentally broke my motherboard by tripping on my computer while I was playing this.
Ah this one. I remember having trouble with the spider boss, due to the fact that the game told me to shoot at its central core. The problem with that is that the thing has tons of weapons, and trying to get a good angle to shoot the center usually lead to it spotting me and shooting me to death. Fortunately, the game's damage system allowed me to just blow off most of its legs, which forced it to stand sideways and give me a very good angle to shoot out its center core. The robots in this game are very determined to kill the player, so much so that nothing short of complete destruction will stop them from trying. This is part of what made this game more tense than than the average shooter in my mind. The fact that anyone could be a robot also adds a bit.
Binary Domain has a few segments with endless enemies where you're supposed to just hold out until something happens, in at least one of those(The sewers with the robot monkies) you can stick around for as long as you like killing robots and max at least two squad members pretty early on, you still have to do the rest but if you figure this out the remaining squadmates are pretty easy to max just by playing the game normally.
I got about 70-80% success rate when I realised most terms are interchangeable synonyms, and picked 1 that's the easiest to register. My first language is Russian and I have next to no English pronunciation experience.
My only real complain about the game is the ending. The way everyone seems to be 100% OK with an AI, something that has effectively spent the entirety of the game trying to kill you and cover its tracks, having "free" will and access to nukes is just plain nutty. It feels like we missed a scene or an exposition dump explaining why this is actually a good thing(outside of were not getting immediately nuked).
What? No. Only the US government at the end want the AI. Every other character wants it destroyed. You really think the real-world US military wouldn't want such a powerful resource? Shackle the AI and you have the world's most powerful computer at your disposal.
@@anibala.moralessanchez8018 What's really funny is the Autonomous Nuclear Equipped Armada. The US Army, Navy, Marines and Airforce all unanimously agreed to ban autonomous AI war machines on the basis that THIS EXACT SITUATION COULD HAPPEN.
The AI wasn't trying to kill you for malicious reasons though. It was simply trying to protect itself and it's offspring. The way I read this story, the team you control are actually sort of the bad guys. The game hints at the boundary of life and non-life several times. I mean hell, it even goes so far as being almost completely on the nose by giving you a likeable, quirky AI squad-mate. So essentially, your mission is to commit genocide on intelligent, feeling beings. The AI is simply trying find a future where both humanity and it's own kind can survive - by becoming one. And if anything, the ending does serve to question, whether we are truly safer with our nuclear arsenal in the hands of humans who are able and willing to use such a weapon for their own selfish reasons. The military orders a nuclear strike in the middle of Tokyo, one of the most densely populated cities in Japan. Given the current state of the world and tensions rising to the point where we are slowly moving back towards being on the verge of another cold war, having a safety net to prevent the use of nuclear weapons, wouldn't really be that undesirable.
Probably 8 or so years ago I asked a friend of mine working at Gamestop to recommend me something cheap that I hadn't played. He suggested Binary Domain and that was probably the best $5 I spent that year. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, just be competent with a lot of heart

The Name BOATENG is interesting since there exists a prominent German soccer player in the National Team with that name since several years. The story itself follows the routs of Capec´s RUR ( Rassmus Ultimative Robots [ First time ever mentioning of the term ROBOT, Czech for WORKER] ) , Dick´s DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? and Stanislav Lem´s stories about Captain Pirx (1968). Here the one about an Android Conspiracy. If you will also Asimov´s stories about the supercomputer MULTIVAC and Robert A Heinlein´s REVOLTE ON LUNA 29:04 THE BEST END: BOATENG victimising himself is stronger I believe. All in all an exellent discussion of the game.
I remember watching the Super Best Friends play this one after I had woefully disregarded it as just jank SEGA would put out sometimes. After that I bought it emidiately and had a lot of fun with it. Binary Domain is certainly a underappriciated gem that deserves so much more attention and love.
Merry Christmas! Loved BD, I think it's even the best cover shooter I played, when it comes to actual gameplay. Quite an underrated game, but I guess the same can be said about majority of SEGA's games aside from Sonic.
This was a great Christmas present! I heard this game wasn't that good but after seeing this I'm convinced that this was another case of "professional journalism" and the lowest common denominator being shitheads. Also, was this game really running at 60fps cause if so then goddamn!

it feels more like a combination of Blade Runner and Ghost in The Shell. Hell, there's a similar plot point in this game to one in the second Blade Runner film.
I beat this game on survivor mode with max trust on everyone all in the same playthrough. I would not recommend playing like that. Putting up with stunlocks AND having to keep every squad mate impressed by meleeing enemies made the game super unfun.
huh, tbh I played a bit of it and found it very boring, then again I never knew about the frequent interesting bosses though, and glad they never pulled the "you were a robot all along ooooooo" crap a plot like this might of done.
it's basically mass effect but without all the shitty parts. and with what remains being infinitely better first two levels are garbage though but not as garbage as mass effect
So, this is a story about how Japan wanted to provide robo-waifus (the only one who can have hollow children) to the entire world for free and the US bravely stepped up to stop them. That is a seriously bonkers plotline!
This game us a great example of how not everything has to be unique, if it's done really well.
"Done really well" can be quite a unique trait by itself, though.
