I swear it really isn’t that bad. Your doctor should talk you through every step so you feel safe. You should be able to feel free to laugh, cry, vent whatever you are feeling at any given time. You should also be able to ask any question you’d like and disclose any info without judgment. I hope when you do eventually get a PAP it’s a gentle experience and if you already did I hope it went well!!
I’m a full blown guy and I love this. The balance of incandescent and fluorescent light is calming, like the slight brightness of warm light on your left side was like so nice.
I'm always really concerned about women who aren't seeing their gyno on a routine basis - not doing regular check-ups is a way for things to get really bad, without anyone really noticing anything has happened. I'm really glad young women have these videos (along with other resources for a variety of issues, for everyone) to help them get into good practices. They really do seem to calm people and get them taking care of their health

I've always been really into keeping my medical appointments - I really wanna big sister a lot of these young women and take them to go get a checkup, because these are really serious conditions if you're not looking for them! Nothing little minor things quickly turn into major issues when they get time to spread, and sometimes, you can lose precious things if you delay, even your life!
Someone I loved avoided checkups for 20+ years. She ended up dying of cancer that started on her external genitalia. Ladies, please at least get a mirror, get comfortable, and look at your bits. There's nothing to be ashamed of and getting to know what you normally look down there can help catch problems when they do arise.

I couldn't really relate as an only child. I asked a cousin that's the same age as me, who has an older sister, if she would let her sister do this and she said if it's free and she doesn't have to leave the house then she'd 100% do it lmao. But the difference is the cousin I asked is 24 while her sister is 34, I think the age gap helps a bit, having a sister with only a year difference is a lil more awkward I would think.

It is good that you take your family history into account but I think it is strange that virgins are encouraged to have it and especially if you are not even using tampons the risk is extremely low even if it´s in the family
@Isa It depends; if you have a special reason you should go, but just going bc most people go is not a good reason if you are virgin. And IF you go, say that you are a virgin clearly and hopefully the exam can be made in a less invasive way, especially if you feel pain during the exam

I’m sad because the last doctor I had doesn’t work in the clinic I go to, fortunately the clinics in my area have many female doctors who I prefer, so I better make that appointment soon.
I can understand why it is weird bur I think "big sister" title is meant as more of a comfort. Pap smears can be scary and traumatic to some. The idea of having a safe person walk you through it can be a big comfort.
My big sister literally stuck her hand up my cooch to check my dilation while I was in labor. It's only weird to people who either don't have siblings or don't have a strong bond with their siblings.
@@EmberRain666 this has absolutely nothing to do with having a strong bond with your sister or not. I love my older sister to death, I would absolutely anything for her. We have a very very close and loving relationship, we tell each other almost everything. However, getting a medical exam that includes your private parts is just that, private. I don’t feel comfortable showing my private parts to anyone but my partner and, IF necessary, a doctor because I have no other choice if I want to be healthy. But except for my partner, it’s my natural sense of shame that makes it uncomfortable or at least not relaxed for anyone to see, touch yet CLOSELY exam my private parts. I know some people are extremely comfortable and don’t feel a sense of shame with close friends, siblings, parents etc. But please don’t confuse having a sense of shame with not being close to your loved ones ☝🏻
