    She is one of my absolute favorit riders. Love so much watching her. Her father was an incredible horseman the same is she now. Absolutely PRO horse! ❤

    Awwww you’re so lucky. I’m still a hardcore fan of her father Reiner Klimke. I still watch his videos which are 30+ years old 😊

    Amelia, I am SO jealous. I'm outing myself, but I was fortunate to lesson under one of Ingrid's Dad's (Werner) students. I was further fortunate to receive a mini lesson from the man himself. I will always love the Klimke's style, love, and fairness to the horse. Because of what I learned, I am very particular who I follow, and your work has always reminded me of them. Thank you for sharing with us. 💞

    Hi Amelia! Thank you for sharing your input from the clinic, - that's very kind.
    My favourite takeaway was the position of the hands while letting the horse strech. I've instinctivly done this for a while now, because I felt when I put my hands wide apart he kind of got too low with his head and the nose less forward. But when I put the hands on fist-width, he also gently pushes with his jaw against the bit forward and opens his pole and the "Ganaschen" (sorry, I don't know the English word). So now I feel happy that I've got that one right by try and error. 😅

    The explanation for why it helps to have your hands close together was really interesting to me. There are so many conflicting perspectives on that one - many unexplained - so I am minded to follow Ingrid’s advice😊

    These are great, and thanks for sharing! Coincidentally, I was looking at Dr. Reiner Klimke's book Cavaletti two evenings ago-one of my college textbooks from my days as an equestrian studies major at Averett University! We didn't do much cavelletti work in school, but we did gymnastics and learned jumping for stadium and cross-country.

    Horses much softer with hands closer - makes sense as the bit is not bring stretched and pressured on bars and tongue!

    Does that mean that you will now incorporate the fist width apart reins in your training? I’m intrigued!

    @joannesimpson1490 Месяц назад

    So would you have hands a fist apart on young/green horses, or just the more established ones? As younger ones are the ones who struggle with straightness the most aren't they.
