Good luck Alex. I count you a friend, even if you don't know me. Since watching you, I climbed 300 in rapid using, Caro, Kings Indie, and Jobo. In my head is your calm, clear voice giving fabulous instructions. Thank you a million times - you are by far my fav chess RUclipsr.
@@mitchelltj1 I could play a lifetime and he would still crush me. I’ve played kids OTB in classical that dusted me. Hurts lol. Nice to see Alex get one back for Team Adult
I bet he felt like he was walking on a beach when a coco-nut fell on his head. 🤕 Don't feel too sorry for him, he'll come back in a few years as a GM and he won't feel sorry for you if he beats you dude :)
18:02 Got it it first guess. if we're so desperately wanting bishop to move from G5 to H4, the reason could be we want the diagonal, and exactly that is the reason.
was great to see this video man. like others have said, consider you a friend at this point even tho we’ve never met. between youtube and studying your courses…i hear your voice and see your face more than most of my friends these days, haha. was awesome to see that you were back at the table. best wishes and hopes of big pp moves for you in the following rounds! thanks for always finding a way to not only teach and educate but also keeping things light-hearted, fun, and funny. as well as always being respectful to your opponents. you just seem like a great guy, with great sportsmanship. so, no matter how far you end up going, i hope you know we’re happy for you, and excited to get your perspective on what was learned. much love from the U.S.
Loved your description of what can physically happen during chess - it’s true - I can open a new game on the damn app live and I’ve got palpitations…never a nervous person but it’s like a damn sport or something. Love your work
Best wishes in your next round. Thank you for playing in big tourneys and posting your games on RUclips. I learn a lot from you every time you play. Is it possible for you to get a GM norm in this tourney?
I am a 900-ish player and find the 3 day game - per move - (essentially a Correspondence Game) a great way to learn to avoid blunders and obvious mistakes. Everything is slowed down to a speed where I can develop a better understanding of the game. On the other hand, 3 day games just fry my nerves waiting for my opponent to make a move.
Converting that last game with only 10 seconds on the clock would have been a challenge indeed. Now let's hope your opponent for tomorrow doesn't watch this video. Good luck.
Thanks for your advice on playing chess. One of my favorite pieces of your advice is, "If you are being attacked, maybe you should ignore the attack, and instead go on offense. Let them win your castle while you are winning their king."
Well, with TT we may have forgotten that Alex is still a strong one!) In this regard taking part in the event is a good idea, win or lose does not matter, but when every other is 2500+ in TT, it is easy to forget the scale of things
clearly Alex is way underrated! also i’d like to mention his Caro Kann speed run is the best by far …i know Eric Hansen is a stronger GM but Alex’s run is very instructive in every move and he’s more professional but that’s my opinion

Yeah his reasoning sets the mindset, just by watching and tuning for reasoning it is +100 elo in performance.
Round 3 victory reported for child abuse
That poor kid. I felt bad for him too, but such is life and he must be amazing.

@@mannylokzzzSchadenfreude, and no regrets. Most importantly, Alex keeps the humour going!

When you said the worst move on the board I assumed he somehow hung his queen. I didn't expect him to hang mate.
Awesome to see you playing over the board. Hope your back feels better soon and good luck tomorrow. We are all rooting for you!
Awesome job, good luck for the next round of games!

Hi Alex.
Any chance of making a K.I.D course on chessable in the near future?
Thanks
The Gawain Jones one is pretty excellent for beginner-intermediate. The free one on Chessable covers a ton of practical lines
Thanks for sharing Alex. Good luck the rest of the tourney. 💪🏽
Congrats Alex. Well played.
Excellent news Alex. I think this will be good for you (apart from the back pain)
Yey!! 🍿🍿🍿 Stoked to see you back at it!

SabinO (Brunello) - He's italian: the O must be pronounced.
