@Emily Higgins I never read the book, or much into the lore (I always wanted to but don't really know where to start xD) but I always assumed that it was because Mangle is Funtime Foxy. Funtime Foxy after he got wrecked of course lol- that always made the most sense to me. Mangle has the exact same color color scheme as Funtime Foxy (white on the "outside" and hot pink on the "inside") and the same "gold" eyes. Mangle even has the same red bow tie, red cheeks and red lips as Funtime Foxy. That's why I always thought Mangle was the "broken" version of Funtime Foxy. If you think about it, Mangle actually has a lot of differences from Funtime Foxy, just to list a few.. F.F has a completely different endoskeleton from Mangle. F.F also has those "speaker' parts (on his chest). F.F has been scooped, leaving no room for F.F to "become" Mangle.
