Our Cabin in the Smokey Mountains has become quite the honeymoon and or anniversary destination. When I'm interacting with whoever is booking and they mention that they are coming for their honeymoon, I tell them that we're thrilled to be a small part at the start of a great journey. I then ask them "When's the big date?" If they tell me, I will go onto a site like Personalization Mall and find a cool Honeymoon gift that gives each of their first names and then the date of their wedding on street signs. I then will have my cleaners either have it in the cabin on their arrival, or have it delivered to them while they are there at the cabin. It's not much, but It's something to help them remember our place.

That’s amazing! Great thinking. In the world of digital assets, tangible items and gifts are very impactful. Having something the guest can physically take with them helps visually remind them of their experience

I am just getting into the research phase to do my first STR and want to be different,, ahead of the curve. I travel , and know the bnb s that have been great but no one really personalized it to me, I have no team, large budget or excess spare time. But will look for ways to do this. thanks for the insight

Your hospitality guest asked for the wife's number? How did you know he had a wife is this one of the hospitality questions? Please elaborate please! Appreciate the video

A well meaning suggestion with best of intentions - this video could have been packaged into a 3-4 minutes clip vs 15 minutes

Thats all fine and well once the guest is actually there but how do you stand out from the millions of other STRs out there? Hard to quantify hospitality in an Airbnb listing.

Standing out enough to get the guest to book with you is the hardest part! Delighting is surprisingly easy because so few people do it. We have a lot of examples across this video and others about how to surprise and delight your guests.
Something that changed our way of thinking was learning how delight is made from the unexpected. And it doesn’t have to be anything big. For example, when you get your $1000 paycheck, you’re not delighted because it’s to be unexpected. But if you were to find a $10 bill on the ground, you’d be excited and thankful for your luck! The $10 is only 1% of $1000, but it’ll give you 100% more delight.
Of course, depending on the person, $10 could mean very little. We take a little time to get to know our guest, why they’re coming, what success looks like to them, etc. so we can thinking of how we can delight them with the unexpected.
Stay tuned for more videos discussing this topic!
