Just a Ravens fan here re-watching this and what Kurt Warner said about Greg Roman's offense after the loss to the Dolphins. They were both right about Roman's offense and when defenses know how predictable your offense is, even a 30th ranked defense or whatever the Dolphins were ranked can look like the 1985 Bears or 2000 Ravens.
I’ve been saying that Greg can not help Lamar reach that next level. He is way too concerned about getting a HC job and he is going to ruin us going forward.

In my days of playing ball, and huge overpowering rush was offset with draws, screens and shuttles……none in the Ravens playbooks……the mark of a good offensive coach is reading defensive schemes…..what do they do on defense, who is the best lineman, linebacker, safety……stunts, blitzes, drop backs into coverages etc…..injuries took their toll and working with second and third string talent is not easy at all……

Lamar Jackson scored a 13 on the Wonderlic, so Steve's 6 year old probably has a much higher mental acumen to run an offense. No one wants to admit that the reason they run such a basic offense is because Lamar would struggle to learn a more complex system.

I've always said that Roman needs to steal plays from the Cheifs. The Ravens almost match up man for man as far as speed. But the Cheifs are more creative in the way they us theirs.

Bruh with the speed & agility we have on our offensive roster it boggles the mind that Roman’s playbook doesn’t have screen passes in it. I constantly see JK & Hill open in the flat with no one around within about 10 yards of them. That’s the perfect opportunity for speedy guys like JK & Justice. They’d would rack up so many RAC Yardage if they implemented screen plays to get it to those guys quickly & they inevitably break out for a huge chunk of yards. It’s vital that Lamar gets it to the speedsters if they in the flat wide open.
Ravens need to reach out to Bobby Petrino imo...he ran a far more complex offense when Lamar was at Louisville (Erhardt-Perkins I think which is what the Pats are known to run). Lamar has it in him to take it to the next level...ravens just need to let him off the leash because RN with how vanilla GRo's passing scheme is...mmm forget the leash they have that man in a friggin straight jacket. Take an extremely limited playbook like that and mix in a weak performance from the o-line...they were pretty much asking Lamar to swim with his hands tied behind his back vs the bills.

They held the bills really to 3-10 points that screen pass was bs and I don’t know why harbaugh didn’t call a timeout because it was 2 on 3 on the left side. Even the announcers were saying it was a bad defensive play. That defense played its heart out and ravens should’ve won it but poor offensive play calling and drops once again cost the ravens when it mattered the most. If dobbins gets going on those short routes and andrews doesn’t drop it in clutch moments then ravens can get it going but until then they’re just gonna be this team with a good record but never do anything. It’s sad because all the blame gets put on Lamar but Lamar is not all the problem. He can throw and I’m so tired of the critics saying he can’t throw outside the numbers. He needs personnel he can trust and play calling he can work with.
