2:42 Multiplayer Season Mode that plays Similar to Universe Mode? Having set Allies and Enemies? Having your Stables/Factions actually come to help you during matches? Being able to Create A PPV? I'd say they're still worth giving a try, especially SmackDown 2, but I agree that SYM and HCTP are still Superior Games.
Smackdown PS1 games are great at the time. The first one was solid, but quite limited in it's features. The 2nd one had improved and expanded on those features, but suffers from frustrating load times (especially in Season Mode).
I felt like smackdown 1 and 2 still are great games and isn't subpar to no mercy. Gameplay is still fun and with a good season mode that's based off that happened during that period which I think is worth playing still
I like the KOs in UFC 2 but yeah, they can look arcadey as hell. I Still think fight night 2004 has the funniest and even most brutal KOs in any fight night game. Seen em yet?
WWE All Stars is quite overrated, it has fun gameplay but has a complete lack of any content. The 'Story' mode is just a regular arcade ladder x3 and a bunch of match types such as Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Ladder, Iron Man and any 6 Man Matches are absent
It could have more modes, but it is mostly supposed to be a sit down with your friends and go ham. I wish we could have All stars 2 so we could have more game modes, and a more interesting story. By yourself, yes it can get boring after a little bit. I believe saying it's overrated is in the minority of people.
I was ready to be upset when I saw "Smackdown" in the thumbnail, but you're right. I didn't have an N64; I had a Playstation, so it was all I had to play. However, whenever I went to my cousin's house, "No Mercy" and "WM2000" were played nonstop.
Facts. That's why he had the caveat at the beginning. Doesn't mean the game was bad, just mean that it's not as good as people remember and give it credit for
You’ll be surprised at how much people will defend Diamond Dynasty on MLB the Show. I left the discord because they were too “play DD it’s fun actually”. Like, I don’t WANT to get involved in it, period. I just want a good baseball experience on the PS4. But no, they just had to insist on it.
Smackdown 2 Know Your Role is a great game to buy if you want to run a season mode with your friends. The ability to swap who you play as can help freshen up the game and the multitude of match types you can play keep it in my rotation.
If you count games with a notable e-sports following then Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Rocket League, Fortnite, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros Melee would all be on this list.
Smackdown beats No mercy at everything, season mode, create ppv, create a wrestler, game modes, gameplay. It had everything we needed from a wrestling game. Back in the time solid state drives werent a thing so every game had loading screens.
the thing with the "greatest game of all time"is kinda hard to debate, in one hand, you have to consider time and context because otherwise, a remake of super mario bros is then "a better game" for example. in my book, Metal Gear Solid 1 is the GOAT game, for the time, i can't think of other games taking gaming to such level of inmersion and deph gameplay wise, but then again, graphically sucks for today's standars, so i'm going to say it looks like shit? hell no, ps1 polygons never looked so realistic haha
It's an interesting conversation. The remake isn't always automatically better though. Since you brought up MGS, the remake of MGS1(twin snakes) was inferior to the original in every way except graphics. The original MGS game has some wonky elements for today's standards, but I believe it's a game that can stand the test of time. Tecmo bowl/Pong just comes across as a novelty. Both should definitely be recognized as revolutionary games, but time has not been kind to either of them in every aspect. You can find pong on flash websites, and you can find pixel football games on mobile devices.
i see how people can rank older games higher than they deserve, just to compensate for "it's good for its time". but lists of "GOAT games" are inevitably going to skew towards newer games, since they use newer and more advanced technology, as well as the growth of the game industry leads to bigger and (usually) better games. pong is a game a student from 2021 can make in 1 day, it can belong on a "most influential games" list but not a GOAT games list, where things like modern Madden games, Ride to Hell Retribution, Flatout 3, Flappy Bird, and millions of Unity asset flips would rank higher than pong
U would think so but new companies just don't understand what makes a good game. Also, realism is killing games too bc they have to spend so many resources on making sure everything appears realistic. It's more than that tho. A lot of basic features are missing in favor of features that make the company money. To your point, there is a point around mid 2000s where companies still understood how to make games and the graphics and everything just mixed perfectly. Those games tend to be the best games ever made, but there are still some games from the previous era that hold up well save for the graphics. No mercy just understood what made wrestling exciting as a spectacle and catered the gameplay to that. It's just amazing that newer devs just can't understand and mimic that feeling.
Skate 2 was better and I didn't like a lot of the changes in 3 but considering it was the last title at the time it's probably my most played game of the three. Plus how much fun it was downloading custom parks and spending hours shredding in them with friends I probably spent at least 500 hours in that being me and my friends go to chill game. I even remember making my own WWE arena skate park with a ring, entrance stage, audience, ect and invite friends to "wrestle". We should run at each other using the bail mechanic trying to clothesline each other and have one person lay on the ground ground while the other jumps off the top rope trying to make the most brutal looking dive lmao.
where is wwf no mercy/here comes the pain :) i know you wanted to say it but the amount of room temperature iq people who defend it would go nuts. no mercy is just boring and here comes the pain is worse than shut your mouth and lacks basic features that existed in the last installment
Honestly No Mercy is pretty overrated, Here Comes the Pain is way better. As for SSX, I'd say both Tricky and SSX 1 are quite overrated. SSX 3 is easily the best SSX game.
I love that game sm but I think its overrated. I thought ncaa 11 and 12 was better. Tbh if it wasn't the last ncaa game it wouldn't be as well loved as it is now
Idk man, most of the wrestling games on n64 are the same and way back when I use to rent smackdown all the time. Like it’s easy to say now that there are better games but at the time they were great if you only had a ps and n64. The entrances were trash tho 😂
Okay I got one thing for two different games skate 3 and MLB The Show first of all Skate 3 is not overrated the first two games were all based around realism Skate 3 was Lily doing what Tony Hawk did and doing it better cuz after a while Tony Hawk during the first two releases of Skate 1 and 2 the Tony Hawk series try to make it more realistic that would make it fall off Skate 3 digit 20 Hawk tried to do with the Arcadia s*** in the third game because of the simple fact that they already did the realistic stuff second of all MLB The Show the entire fan base don't play Diamond Dynasty and not only that you can earn diamond cards just playing Road to the Show so everything else besides those two games is all right Skate 3 in MLB the show was off
I also agree with tecmo bowl to a degree. I feel that bc of the games status and greatness of that era its going to be talked about. I think its one of the greatest football games bc of its long impact and influence.

I still play Smackdown 2 regularly
@@sergiodbd the season mode is ruined by the loading screens and that stupid health bar nonsense
@@disclaimer.imjokin I wouldn’t say ruin but I get how they can become an annoyance after a while 😅

I need to plug my ears for this Smackdown and Smackdown 2 slander
Tecmo Super Bowl still is a masterpiece in fact till today.
Did you really play the 1080 Snowboarding music over the SSX part? That made my brain hurt.

The art style didn’t appeal to me either but there is heavy praise for it 🤷🏾♂️
yeah the game gets boring very quick
It could have more modes, but it is mostly supposed to be a sit down with your friends and go ham. I wish we could have All stars 2 so we could have more game modes, and a more interesting story. I play smackdown 2 all the time more so than no mercy. In fact, if I had to pick between the 2 I would pick smackdown 2 every time

Smackdown 2 Know Your Role is a great game to buy if you want to run a season mode with your friends. The ability to swap who you play as can help freshen up the game and the multitude of match types you can play keep it in my rotation.
the load times is what kills Smackdown 2's story mode
If you count games with a notable e-sports following then Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Rocket League, Fortnite, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros Melee would all be on this list.
great takes all around, especially Skate 3; considering how Skater XL turned out, we _really_ need a proper skating sim again.
Will Smith joke aged like wine
9:38 that looks so wrong alongside those other two
Tecmo Super Bowl was the shiz, Don't get the hype for the original tho.
Smackdown beats No mercy at everything, season mode, create ppv, create a wrestler, game modes, gameplay. It had everything we needed from a wrestling game.

The thing with Smackdown 2 is it sadly has one of the best career modes ever because so many are bad.
i see how people can rank older games higher than they deserve, just to compensate for "it's good for its time". but lists of "GOAT games" are inevitably going to skew towards newer games, since they use newer and more advanced technology, as well as the growth of the game industry leads to bigger and (usually) better games. pong is a game a student from 2021 can make in 1 day, it can belong on a "most influential games" list but not a GOAT games list, where things like modern Madden games, Ride to Hell Retribution, Flatout 3, Flappy Bird, and millions of Unity asset flips would rank higher than pong

MLB generally gets off easy because of what series are standing next to it. It looks REALLY good by comparison.
As someone who grew up on smack down/svr games, smack down 1-3 pretty overrated
Well at least wwe raw vs smackdown was fun

As for SSX, I'd say both Tricky and SSX 1 are quite overrated. SSX 3 is easily the best SSX game.
I get this strange feeling this video is pure rage bait
"Greatest" doesn't mean "Best." And I'm 45 and I think pong is better than any sports game.
SSX not overrated at all due to SSX 2 Tricky & 3 being the best SSX games and SSX 1 gets slept on
Ufc2 is dope no game is perfect but it's the closest we can get
Tecmo Bowl is meh but Tecmo Super Bowl was awesome

Tecmo superbowl is good tho it deserves its high regard.
Nascar thunder 2003 and 2004 are the most overrated racing games because there are better nascar games especially NR2003.
Smackdown 2 is not overrated. Love that game and play it to this day
Smackdown 2 just bring it?? Not the name of the game.
The Show is definitely overrated
