Good afternoon!
Today I want to play for you the Zapateado by Regino Sainz de la Maza. The zapateado is a danced flamenco style (not sung). It has many influences: Latin American, Spanish, from the Baroque "Canarios" or the tanguillos of Cádiz. Being an instrumental style, it has allowed much more complexity and virtuosity in these pieces. Regino was a great composer and, although he was classical, he composed many flamenco pieces as well, because he knew the flamenco genre.
