I was a 68J/10 in the ARMY and got a ride in a Cobra once in November 88.
My unit went to FT Irwin, and we flew them from Saber AAF to Campbell AAF and loaded them in C5's for the trip to CA.
My pilot CW2 Smitha let me take control for about 5 min. WHAT A GREAT FLIGHT!!!!
Thank you Mr. Smitha I'll never forget that flight.

My ship had one squadron of cobra, one squadron of harrier, one squadron ch47, one squadron ch53 and few sea stallion and we love it with enough for city defensive if we carry out defensive front. I bet you the Marine wish to have what we had then in the 1990

My ship was the Tripoli, no Harriers, although they landed on the deck during WESTPAC 87. LOUD! Heard 'em in the Engine Room.

It's funny to society cobra don't get recognized I never new about cobras tell last year if I seen one I thought it was a apache got to be sexyest helocopter usa has and russia just made a generic nock off

This is more an advertisement than a description of the experience. Experience and talk about target diving from 7,000 feet at over 200 knots and the incredible G's on pullout. That's what being in the gunner's seat of a Cobra was about. Otherwise take a helo tour over the Grand Canyon.
