In the middle of a VA 'presumptive' claim that will get me to 100%. After other funds I'm looking at a total and permanent income approaching $6000 per month, plus $30,000 available for 'setup and emergency' funds. Money won't be a problem.
I already own/live in a 'tiny home', so downsizing isn't an issue.
I just hit 60 years old, and other than dual ostomies from colon/bladder cancer 6 years ago and 'foot drop' braces I'm in good shape (5'9" @ 185 lbs.)
My question revolves around 'getting around'. I can walk with a perfectly normal gate with a cane over level surfaces just fine... but prefer a walker for anything uneven. Now 'stamina' isn't an issue (I can literally walk for miles without tiring... it's balance over uneven surfaces as I have foot neuropathy and don't have the normal 'feedback' mechanisms for uneven spots- almost like 'walking on stilts'). Stairs are not a problem with a handrail or a cane for support.
I don't want to live in the city- but province life isn't appealing either. Someplace like Roxas City or Dumaguete seems more desirable.
Is the 'walking environment' doable for these places? Again, the 4 wheeled rollator isn't for 'support' or holding me upright- it's for not falling flat on my face if I trip over an uneven area. Otherwise, I push it around like a normal gaited person would a small shopping cart.
      Quick thoughts?
      Thanks!

    Great Video 👍
I'm from Washington State. Been living in Quezon City for the past 15 years and I love it. I go to the beach areas whenever I want but don't need to live there full time. I like the lifestyle of Metro Manila.
I have had zero problems living here. I have an SRRVisa, I play by the rules and I mind my own business.
I don't care about relationships or marriage. I don't want any woman stealing from me and giving me her problems.

Majority of Veterans that live here in the Manila area are here for one freaking reason we have to keep continually going to the VA to keep receiving our disability checks. If we don’t keep showing up, the VA pretty much takes our disability. Majority of us don’t want to live in a smoggy polluted city with very cold and disrespectful Filipinos here in the city we look pretty much rather live in a tropical climate with smiling people everywhere. You’re living the good life.

Good advice. I'd add, get snipped before you go to PH and ensure no unexpected babies arrive on the scene (younger Filipina's want kids!!!!). And I also agree with know what you want... for example, I will be looking to have a place in the countryside, small house, have a vegetable garden (for good health) and just keep it simple...but still close enough to a few bars etc for the occasional mingle with locals and expats. If you know what you want, it makes finding the right place and people easier and you won't waste much time or make too many mistakes.

My wife's siblings would tease me saying I was her favorite son. One time I went off with a few of my wife's uncles and we got into some rum when we got back home my wife was angry. There were neighbors watching us. When my mom in law walked out she raised her hand and the crowd split like the red sea of Moses. She said leave them alone they are just haboug (sp?) And my wife calmed down. I miss that lady.

Any WISE man IS looking to leave the USA. I moved to Portugal 2 years ago. But now I want the Philippines for sure. Deciding factor for me? Language. English being widely spoken. It has been 2 years of TORTURE having to learn a foreign language from scratch here in Portugal. I've finally acquired basic conversational Portuguese after intense, prolonged study. Now I'm ready to GO. I will learn Taglog or whatever, but at MY pace, without the stress. Hopefully, with a beautiful girl to help me. Knowing that with my significant amount of wealth that IAM THE PRIZE, moreover than her fir once. But with humility, honor, trustworthiness and love. Then I'm truly THE prize for her. And she will be the treasure by reciprocating those same qualities - or she's OUT the door. It's a two-way street. The woman is not and cannot be in Contril. Not if you're a REAL man and want to live in peace and have the same love and respect returned that you offer. With this one caveat: Trust and Respect must be Earned. And one must Give the same to deserve receiving it in kind. Thanks .
