I stopped watching the podcast after seeing them laugh about a very serious topic. It seems like they are very insensitive commentators. People are dying in war, and they are laughing over a topic related to it. Shame
these sessions are so good please do these on a weekly basis discussing the stuff that happened over that entire week

I don't completely agree, that Iran doesn't have any emotions towards Palestine. I think iran is emotionally connected, but it is not taking any action because it lacks allies and military superiority compared to western nation which r allies of irs_hell.
Iran obviously has sympathy with Palestinians. If it's just iranian politics and drama why iran not usher itself in strong economy by accepting israel and America? Even Afghan Taliban have supported Iranian attacks. We as a Pakistanis are hypocrite and envious people. Rather than admiring sth better we just indulge in sectarian hate mindset. I started watching your podcasts since some time ago. But your perspective on Iran (and attaching a motive to Iran if they engage with the West on the Palestine cause even when genocide is unfolding for many months ) is just ridiculous.
It just reminds me when Yemen Houthi forces started firing rockets on Israel and blocking there ships in the red sea to force Israel stop committing genocide, then the journalist told the Houthi spokesman that Houthi are attacking the West just as a posture and to win PRAISE. I love the reply of the spokesperson, who said that even if the Houthis didn’t care for the Palestine and they may be doing just to get praise, what is stopping other countries to try winning praise.
My analysis is that Iran was already a darling of the West during the Shah. Only point of contention between Iran now and US is the Iran’s assertion on one-state solution. I believe if Iran today just abandons Palestine/Lebanon, then it will be a darling again of the Genocidal West (like Pakistan, Jordan etc.)
By the way, I am Sunni. And I am not Pakistani.

Iran’s core principle belief was to stand with oppressed people of Palestine from the days of Islamic revolution. It is that no other muslim countries stand against Israel does not translate to Iran attacking Israel because of Saudi Arabia. Iran has not gained anything except sanctions from standing against Israel.

Why does Iran only support Palestinians? Why not Ughyers, Kashmiris, Rohingyas? It even has a policy of "mutual silence" with India on the Kashmir issue. The simple answer is that Palestine and the issue of alaqsa favor its broader agenda and it's willing to play along.
Nation states are not moral actors.
Imran Khan even denied the existence of Ughyers when asked once in an interview.
