Limahl - The Never-Ending Story [Instr. Cover]

This is my instrumental cover of English vocalist and former Kajagoogoo lead singer Limahl's 1984 single 'The Never-Ending Story', from the movie of the same name. The original song was written by Italian movie soundtrack composer Giorgio Moroder with lyrics by English drummer Keith Forsey and featured female vocals by American singer Beth Anderson.
My version was performed using Linn LM-1 drum samples in Impact XT, a Roland Jupiter-X synthesizer (all synths, synth bass and sitar overdubs) and Arturia's DX7 V for the main sitar patch. The guitar used was a Fender Stratocaster ('fat strat') through an Avid Eleven Rack guitar FX unit. The track was originally recorded and mixed in Presonus Studio One 5.5 DAW with a Faderport 16 and an 1810c audio interface. This version was remixed and partly re-recorded (the guitar solo) in Studio One 6 Professional. The reverb was changed to an Arturia LX-24 (hall setting).
