    Subbed! Love this review, I really feel like you went into detail with it from a consumer prospective. I don’t know why but your review is the only one I never skipped through. I’m hopefully about to make a deal on a blue 2019, red interior. Thanks for your review!

    I really liked your review and I've subscribed. You covered all the important stuff and you reviewed it from a consumer's as well as an enthusiast's standpoint.
    I went from a 2018 TLX V6 ASPEC to a 2020 RDX Advance. For me, the RDX is more fun to drive than the TLX, and I loved the TLX. The 0-60 time is almost as good as the TLX was, and steering/handling feel better to me, which I honestly didn't expect on an SUV. I went with the Advance trim because I wanted the HUD and 360 camera, and it also includes a heated steering wheel. The Advance (like all the other non-ASPEC models) also has a compact spare; the ASPEC just has a tire sealant repair kit. You have to buy a compact spare as an add-on. Buyers who want an ASPEC should get the dealer to throw in the spare; it's a few hundred dollars, and it's really inexcusable that it's not standard equipment.
    I also agree with you about Acura not even allowing certain features as options on the ASPEC. Now that I've got HUD and 360 camera on the RDX, I won't get another car without them. Another thing I love about the RDX is that the different driving modes are all really good at what they do. On the TLX, I found that Sport was the only driving mode I liked. On the RDX, I can easily put it in Comfort on the freeway for a smoother ride, but still have fast acceleration. Sport and Sport+ both tighten up the steering, and Sport+ gives you the most aggressive shift points. I think that for the price point, the RDX is definitely the best deal overall.

      I really wish they would’ve put ASPEC as the highest trim with all of those features on the advanced included. I have the blue/red ASPEC and I love it but I wish I didn’t have to choose between the appearance package and those extra technology features. I just love the way the ASPEC looks compared to the rest so I had to get it.
      The acceleration is so good sometimes I have to check to see which mode I’m in lol! The only complaint I really have is that the ASPEC doesn’t have a digital speedometer reading. I wish I would’ve known about negotiating the spare in the deal, that honestly slipped my mind but it’s probably a good idea to have it.

      Thank you for your kind words. I am in the process of finding more cars to review. It has been tough with Covid. I agree with your statements. I was shocked at how well this SUV drove and is the perfect transition for someone who drove a sporty sedan. I cannot wait until Acura releases the Type S versions of their lineup. All car manufacturers should give us more options to. Yield our perfect vehicle.

    Thanks for the review. No offense, but glad to see a kinda big guy, appear comfortable in this car, because I'm considering it and I'm a kinda big guy myself. I would like to see them make this with the sportback variant, like all the other luxury brands are trending. Good review though! 👍🏽👏🏽

    Also that S is for manual shifting with the paddles not sport mode. And the suspension is not dampening so the different driving modes only effect transmission shift points, nothing to do with the suspension.

    Have one in white and I'm torn on it. It's got a suitable amount of power and handles very well. It's also the best looking (IMO) small crossover. That's where the good ends tho. The interior, although it looks good, is horribly laid out after living with it for nearly a year. Aesthetics over actual function. The entire center stack is a massive waste of space and not very ergonomic. Gas mileage is terrible - I'm averaging 22MPG mixed with probably 70% being highway doing 70-75MPH on average. Ride is also fairly harsh, but I guess a trade off for the handling and the 20" wheels (smaller tire sidewall). Throttle and braking are also twitchy, which makes driving smoothly a chore. It's hard to actually relax and just soak up miles on this car. The transmissions works very well when driving mildly aggressively, but not so much when just poking around town, which goes back to being not good at driving smoothly. I'm fine with the infotainment ... people who complain about it are simply inept. Overall, I do love the car, but I think I'd have been happier in a Lexus RX and spending a tad more money.

    • @WhatsyourForte
      @WhatsyourForte 4 года назад +1

      The layout did not bother me much as I could reach everything easily. Your Gas mileage is accurate really as although this is a four cylinder it is a turbo four. Turbos are known to be a little thirsty plus the weight of this vehicle. I would agree on the ride being a little harsh for an SUV but someone moving over from a sporty car would love it. I think that is where the ASpec shines like the M sport versions on BMWs. The previous owner of this vehicle had a Lexus NX200 and stated that this SUV is way better. Lexus needs to step up their technology and features in their vehicle. The gas mileage on those Lexus SUVs are not that great either. Their turbo fours and thirsty as well and the V6 they use in the RDX is old and underpowered for that big of a SUV. The X3 has the best driving dynamics of all of the SUVs I have driven but it is also one of the most expensive when you add in the options you want.
