The most beautiful music in this world, so I asked God for one thing: When I enter the gates of paradise, I want Stargazer to be the soundtrack of a new era for me. Congratulations from São Paulo Brazil.

One of the best songs ever written and performed. I saw Rainbow a couple of times in the early 80's when they still had some great lineups. Unfortunately, Dio had already left Rainbow at these occasions. But I saw Dio in his own band DIO in Stockholm 1984. I'm so glad I was able to see him live during his stay on earth.
I still get goosebumps the same way as my first listen of the song. The songs Dio did with Blackmore were really amazing. Definitely 70s were the golden era for the Rock music. And I love the way you kept smiling throughout the reaction😄
When Ronnie James Dio (real name Ronnie Padavona) was younger he listened and influenced by Opera singer Mario Lanza. This song is an epic rock opera with a killer instrumental composition. Simply one of the best songs ever recorded.
To be exact, he was born Ronald James Padavona but im sure he was called Ronnie or Ron even as a kid and he used Ronnie Dio very early in his career long before the Rainbow days even. I think ive heard Blackmore calling him Ron for short in some video. Dio is my favourite singer ever and this song is epic and still gives me goosebumps.
Richie Blackmore is one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. Other reactors have said, "I felt the guitar solo was too long." To them, I paraphrase, Gandalf, A Richie Blackmore solo is never too long or too short. It ends precisely when Richie means it to. Fun fact, some of the lyrics were inspired by a film called, The Silver Chalice. In the film, a charlatan magician named Simon attempts to fly from a tower but falls to his death.
My favorite song! I'm really happy to see you enjoyed it. The combination of Blackmore, Dio and the band's drummer Cozy Powell in my mind is the greatest group of musicians to play in the same band. If you wanna see more of them, I highly suggest you check out Mistreated or Sixteenth Century Greensleeves from their Live in Munich 1977. Mistreated especially showcases the band really well and has some of Dio's best live vocals.

To have this much passion, love, repect for his craft.., amazing!!! RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO! HEAVEN FINALLY HAS ITS GREATEST VOICE OF METAL IN ITS CITY OF GOLD.
This old man had the record album when it was new. Side two has "Stargazer" (I felt almost struck with, "Look! Look! Look! Look at his tower of stone!") and then "A Light in the Black," another 8-minute song. Fast and frantic, the late great Cozy Powell that you heard in this one thunders brilliantly there, Tony Carey and Ritchie Blackmore have solo trade-offs... worth a listen. "All my life it seems, Just a crazy dream, Reaching for somebody's star . . . Something's calling me back like a light in the black, Am I ready to go? I'm coming home..."
I see her reaction on Deep Purple a couple of minutes ago and now this!! She's melting my heart ;-) Ritchie and Dio and the gang. Thank you so much for reacting to them.
"Now where do we go" is one of the most powerful phrasing ever performed. No one can bring extended vocals like Ronnie James Dio. His range is insane; and Rainbow's beautiful music allows Dio to go where no man has gone before to steal a Star Trek phrase. Thank you for your analysis Aaliyah!!
Dio, Ritchie and Cozy! For the three of them, to take the opportunity to join in, at the same time - it's a once in a lifetime. And it won't ever happen again. They were so perfect together, and You can almost hear the harmonies, between the vocals, the guitar and the drums. This masterpiece is pure magic! Thanks for choosing and sharing this song! Too bad it didn't last another ten minutes! 🤩
Rainbow came around when I was in my mid-teens learning how to play in a rock band. I was already a fan of Ritchie Blackmore and fell in love with this band. RJD is one of the best rock/metal singers ever. RIP RJD!

Ritchie Blackmore was also the guitarist for Deep Purple, who had a pretty good singer in Ian Gillan. If you check out Child In Time by Deep Purple, you'll see. Both Gillan and Dio are fantastic singers.
It’s great to see people who are the same age I was when I first heard this song experiencing it for the first time. Someone rang me to tell me RJD had died..I knew he was fighting cancer. I played this song three times back to back, and then a whole host of his classics. Next time you play it, remember that the guitar solo is the musical interpretation of the lyrics that follow it, namely the wizard climbing the tower and then the long sliding note is him falling. Ritchie is the guitarist’s guitarist. A true virtuoso. I’ve seen him at least 20 times. I also saw Ronnie about six or seven times too. R.I.P.
Blackmore (guitarist) was a founding member of Deep Purple who were one of the forerunners of heavy metal (the others were Black Sabbath & Led Zeppelin). He now plays classical (renaissance/medieval/folk style) music w/ his wife (last I heard) (Blackmore's Night). Check that out if you like (he has CDs, etc.). Dio is amazing as always. Seen him several times as a solo act & w/ Heaven & Hell. Always a great performance.
So glad to see you enjoyed this! I would also suggest Rainbow's "Mistreated" live in Munich to see a great range and TONS of vibrato from Ronnie; 10 seconds after Dio starts singing in this one your jaw will be on the floor! Dio's stuff with Black Sabbath is also so, so good. Any thing from Black Sabbath "Heaven and Hell" or "The Mob Rules" (falling off the edge of the world, over and over, etc.) This is a deeeep rabbit hole you're falling down....enjoy the ride! Thanks for the video.
Aaliyah, what a way to start with genius of Dio!!! Well done. I feel sorry for the younger generations that never saw all these bands live in the 70s and 80s. I began in 1973 and eventually saw the same bands with my son.
Tremendous comments Aaliyah, very insightful, thank you so much for your reaction! You helped me understand Ronnie's singing skills better, specifically what he is good at. And I liked the detail in your comments. Glad you enjoyed this song so much as it is easily one of my absolute all-time favorites. It is a classic in the rock genre.
Dio was like Floor and Bruce Dickinson are...we know how good they are, but they still impress every time every song...also Blackmore is excellent every time, notice how the guitar solo foreshadows the wizards fall in the descending tone ..
Check more Ronnie James Dio! After Rainbow, he took Ozzy's place in Black Sabbath, and then had his own band called DIO. Between his range, technique, and vocal fry, not to mention stage presence, Ronnie never disappoints. He also seemed like a genuinely nice guy. RIP Ronnie. 😢
How could anyone "NOT" be impressed with Dio, and Blackmore's Rainbow. Modern rock, mixed with baroque, Renaissance, and medieval-classical influenced fusion, which started a whole new genre of rock music, lasting decades to come. A band that influenced, and launched thousands of musical careers. And it was awesome to see her so entranced by Ritchie's guitar solo. She looked like she was about to sploosh all over her chair. Thats just how I felt when I first listened to Ritchie. Unbelievable! I am happy to see the music of my generation still appreciated. Thank you for that.
You need to see Ronnie and Ritchie live, what you just saw was their amazing studio track as the audio for a mishmash of videos of them live. Just search for Mistreated, Live, pick the Rainbow version for Ronnie or Deep Purple to see David Coverdale singing it. Either way you get great vocals and Ritchie Blackmore on legendary guitar. You are awesome my dear, fun revisiting with you. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
There are so many amazing qualities to RJD's voice - for me, aside from his power, is the perfect enunciation and dictiin of every word. No matter how 'loudly' he sang the lyrics, you could clearly understand every word coming out of his mouth. I can't say that for many singers - especially over the entirety of his career, from his early 1950s rock roots all the way through Heaven & Hell. He is one of a kind - and rightfully earned the King of Heavy Metal title
Great reaction, kiddo! I love watching talented, trained, and increasingly well-informed artists journey through this wealth of performance greatness! Cheers rl 🤘👹🤘
Loved your reaction and your personal take on RJD's performance on this track. Those of us who are quite familiar with it hold Ronnie, as well as the other musicians on the album, in very high regard. I very much enjoyed your feedback and watching the joy on your face when hearing it 😊💜
I seem to be echoing the feelings of others in this being one of my favorite songs. Undoubtedly one of the best vocalists to ever sing rock. Thoroughly enjoy your reactions, even those to songs, singers, and groups that I am unfamiliar with. Dio is missed but we are grateful for his legacy of music. Thank you for sharing this one.
Ronnie was one of the Unholy Trinity, among Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. The fundamental voices that defined vocals of heavy metal and that still echo in countless newer metal voices.
And these three are on a level where you need both talent *and* a lot of hard work to get there. Not everyone can get to that standard however much they work.
Ronnie was one of the greatest of all time . He just got limited respect because of his genere . It's good to see new listeners appreciate his talents as of best vocalist ever. Thank you.
Good call on the guitar solo Ritchie Blackmore is a guitar God/legend yet greatly underrated at the same time! Him and Dio are at the top of the heap in their fields no question about it!
Dio was the best voice in Metal. This song is among my favorites; also check out some of his other work, please. I saw others mention "Mistreated" and "Gates of Babylon" by Rainbow, and "Heaven & Hell" by Black Sabbath. These are great suggestions! I'd like to add "Don't Talk To Strangers" by Dio (his own band). That has to be my all time fav song; it shows the versatility of his voice; from soft & soulful to rough and raspy. Highly recommended! (BTW: I love your rendition of Händel's "Rejoice Greatly" at the beginning of this video.)
Dio Sabbath is the BEST Sabbath. 🤘 Incidentally, Tony Iommi said in his autobiography that with Dio in the band (Black Sabbath) he was inspired to do some of his best work.
"I see a rainbow rising", R.I.P. Ronnie, we miss you! Thank you, Aaliyah, one of my favorite songs ever! 🤘

Greatest vocals of all time! I miss RJD but he left lots of music thankfully.
🥰
Thanks so much for sharing Mr. Ted
Miss you everyday of life Ronnie
Long live Rock N Roll
Just know Ritchies soon next
Way of life 😢
🌺
You need to see Ronnie and Ritchie live, what you just saw was their amazing studio track as the audio for a mishmash of videos of them live. Just search for Mistreated, Live, pick the Rainbow version for Ronnie or Deep Purple to see David Coverdale singing it. Either way you get great vocals and Ritchie Blackmore on legendary guitar. You are awesome my dear, fun revisiting with you. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Thank you very much Mr. Vic for watching and for your recommendation, have a great day always💕
Thanks for sharing Mr. Scott
It's great to see the joy on your face, thank you.
Thank you too

I see you have stumbled upon the greatest vocalist of all time.
Bet you didn’t expect the distorted vibrato.

🤘👹🤘
Thanks so much Mr. Rob
Loved your reaction and your personal take on RJD's performance on this track. Those of us who are quite familiar with it hold Ronnie, as well as the other musicians on the album, in very high regard. I very much enjoyed your feedback and watching the joy on your face when hearing it 😊💜
Thanks so much🥰
My eyes are bleeeedding!!! Imo one of my favorite vocal performances on a rock/metal singer.
🥰
I seem to be echoing the feelings of others in this being one of my favorite songs. Undoubtedly one of the best vocalists to ever sing rock. Thoroughly enjoy your reactions, even those to songs, singers, and groups that I am unfamiliar with. Dio is missed but we are grateful for his legacy of music. Thank you for sharing this one.
Thanks so much Mr. Bubba💕
Yes brother ✌️
😍😍😍
They are amazing🥰🥰🥰
Ronnie was one of the greatest of all time . He just got limited respect because of his genere . It's good to see new listeners appreciate his talents as of best vocalist ever. Thank you.
😍😍😍
Good call on the guitar solo Ritchie Blackmore is a guitar God/legend yet greatly underrated at the same time! Him and Dio are at the top of the heap in their fields no question about it!
Thank you
The appreciation that you show in your face,
Thank you Mr. Scott
Ciao Aaliyah, è un piacere immenso guardare i tuoi video. Sei meravigliosa! Semplicemente la migliore 🤗💖💞
Thanks so much Mr. Stefano
Thank you very very much Mr. Terry for your kind appreciation, and for your recommendations. I will check it out too
Dio Sabbath is the BEST Sabbath. 🤘
Incidentally, Tony Iommi said in his autobiography that with Dio in the band (Black Sabbath) he was inspired to do some of his best work.
Definitely goosebump music.
😍
I love that you dont stop it so much and spend more time enjoying the song. It's one of the best ever. RJD is a god. He is sorely missed
Thank you very much🥰
