It's also not the band's fault but annoying fans cause this. I can recognize that they wrote great music and that's it, but one time I met that guy who was all up in my face because I said I didn't care too much about Queen. I said I know some songs but I never really listened to Bohemian Rapsody because I just didn't care and he was getting so angry with me. In my opinion he overrates them and any artist that gets shoved into my face with the presupposition that I didn't care about music if I never listened to one specific song or one band is overrated in that sense by those particular people. I just don't care but I don't dispute it's good music. Gtfoh lol
Yeah, because of the movie, these queen fans are everywhere, saying like, '"Queen is the greatest rock band in history". Queen is one of the greatest indeed, but, not the greatest, Led, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles selled more and made more impact.
probably because only a few of their songs are good. they were not the first to incorporate opera into rock, and if you actually listen to their albums you'll find that their songs are actually kind of shit.
I don’t care about the supposed “queen” fans who only know bohemian rhapsody. But it’s the people that think queen is just Freddie Mercury. Argue all you want, Freddie himself could not be as successful as queen if he was just solo. Some of queens best songs were written by the other members. We will rock you was Brian, another one bites the dust was John and radio gaga was roger
They were 4 talented and professionnal artists who found each other. Anyone who listen to their music properly know that ! Don't forget Taylor wrote I'm in love with my car, the lyrics are silly but I like the music, and I like him singing.
Certain Queen hits are very over saturated. The fact that many people think We are the Champions and We Will Rock you are just sports anthems prove this.
I don't disagree that some of their hits have definitely been oversaturated and overplayed, but the band themselves released so much well-written material that the tiredness of their biggest hits pales in comparison. Add to this the sheer number of hugely famous songs (Bohemian Rhapsody, Bicycle Races, Don't Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free... need I go on?) that they released and the image of the band is far from boring or tired. That's not even touching on Freddie's *incredible* stage presence and charisma.
Kate Goss I’ll agree to that. The over saturation usually keeps me from digging in their discography same with Journey. Not so with Genesis but I only seem to hear That’s All on the radio.
Queen is an extremely talented band and they are one of my favorite bands, of all time as well. The problem is the people that only talk about Bohemian Rhapsody and other few mainstream songs and that's it.
MATEO RINCON exactly. I only know their most popular songs, and I mean, everyone likes them. I just feel like people say they love the band, and then just know the 10 most popular songs. They are good, but they get overrated by people who’s only heard the hits, if you know what I mean.
One big problem with Queen was that their albums were full of quite bad tracks. Greatest hits were good and absolute classics and early albums like Queen II and a Night at the Opera were overall good, but still compared to some other acts they just have too much lousy stuff.
Jaden LaFrance I am so very sorry I have not personally commented something bad abt Beatles but I do believe as a gen z queen fan that the Beatles is also an iconic band and very talented as well. I appreciate you bringing this matter up because I’ve never seen a queen fan comment something bad about the Beatles and I’ll try to look around for them and ask them to stop. :) I totally agree with you that we should only be praising queen on queen videos and not on the Beatles videos. Plus I bet the people who are commenting rude stuff about you guys probably came from the movie Bohemian Rhapsody or just in the fan group to make themselves look different than other people. I hope you have a great rest of your day or night! :)
@Jaden LaFrance I didn't realize this was an issue. Are there really young Queen fans going to Beatles videos and complaining or making comparisons? I can understand that being frustrating for you. So I suppose it's justifiable that you're here on a sort of vendetta.
Actually, you can't go trough the comments without getting a movie reference in the very firsts comments. Anyways we love the band and not the fandom...
I’m happy that the movie has brought a lot more younger fans to Queen. But some comments are very annoying especially when, on every cover of a Queen song, there’s one quote that’s repeated and it’s the “You can do whatever you want with my music but don’t make me boring”. It’s a great quote but some fans have made it annoying
Yeah except Scott tried to lure my big sister in his car when she was drunk at Gilman when she was 16 so fuck Choking Victim and fuck Scott. My homie threw a bag of puke at him. Wish I threw one too.

Ok, so Queen is my favorite band, and I agree with him for this reasons: 1. Most people only know a few songs by Queen and dont delve into there other tracks and albums. But seriously they are a great band, just poorly represented sometimes.
Queen isn't one of my favorites bands to be honest, but I see your point... I actually don't get a lot of enjoyment from some of the hits and it really surprises me when fans that are supposedly obsessed with them don't even bother to go deep enough and listen to the lesser-known songs that actually validate how they were really good songwriters... Like how someone will jam to We Will Rock You and not see that It's Late is from the same album and it's the perfect hard rock song... Brian May in that song specifically was one of the few guys along Steve Hackett, Harvey Mendel and Frank Zappa doing tapping before Eddie Van Halen... You'd think that's something a lot of Queen fans would want to brag about but a lot of them are completely oblivious to songs that aren't immersed in pop culture...
@@gabriellarrubia1006 There are actual Queen fans, and then there are people who like Queen. The latter will always tout hits, and say that 'killer queen' is underrated. Then there are queen fans who will tell you their best song is actually 'March of the Black Queen', 'Prohpets song', and 'Innuendo'. With a band so massive, it's hard to find people who don't just like the hits, but are enthusiasts.
Agreed. Queen II is a Progressive Rock masterpiece, and so are Opera and Races. Most people only point to tracks like "Another One Bites the Dust", "Don't Stop Me Now" or "We Will Rock You", but Queen were so much more than that. In fact, you could make a case that Queen are one of the most UNDERRATED bands of all time.

I dont think so, I dont see anyone rate him that highly. No one says he was top 5 or anything. To be over rated you have to rated highly and the kid did have skill and a lot of potential which will now never be met. He was just a cool guy, who made mistakes early in his life, who wanted to better himself and made the music his fans wanted.
William James Yeah "well known with a few popular songs" is less overrated and more... well known with a few popular songs. I've never seen anybody actively praise Bon Jovi other than specifically referring to one of their most popular songs being fun and catchy.
One of my friends is a Queen fan and I told her I respected them but didn't like the music personally and she called me trash lol. Funny thing is, my other friend is a kpop fan and she was fine with me not liking them. I'd always thought it would be the other way round.

Queen has achieved the pinnacle of the Pop song. In terms of peak musical complexity and technical skill without losing popularity, catchyness, timelessness and iconicity.
Hell no!! Freddie Mercury had an incredible vocal range, not to mention Brian mays beautiful work too. As a guy who really only likes hip hop, queen is one of those bands you really have to appreciate, the incredible classics they had in the 70’s and amazing legendary concerts in the 80’s. Idk bout this Fantano...
That doesn't mean their music is good though. Who let the dogs out by the Baja men is a terrible song, but everyone knows the tune and can likely hum it. I mean hell every 90s kid probably remembers the moonshoes jingle. Or the cars for kids jingle. Just because it's an ear worm doesn't mean it's good.
Funny thing about Queen is that they basically never got a good review in their entire career, until Freddie died and everyone did a shameless 180. They're still dismissed in most critical quarters, and Dave Marsh's Rolling Stone review of Jazz is notorious for how nasty it is. My view on that is that most rock critics don't have a sense of humour, which Queen did. I'm flabbergastered that critics take everything so damn seriously. It's like Bat Out Of Hell - the album is hilarious and it is supposed to be. Yet Springsteen is applauded for Jungleland, even though it's no less ridiculous as anything on Bat Out Of Hell. Only difference is that Springsteen is earnest where Meat Loaf and Steinman had self-awareness.
And let's be honest. Is Springsteen's best records(Born to Run & Darkness) any better than Queen's best(2, Sheer Heart Attack, ANATO)? I don't think so. Plus, Queen had a few more better records. Most critics suck because they're insecure and don't have a sense of humor. They're miserable pricks who are genre and lyric snobs. Don't get me wrong. I like Bob Dylan and he's an excellent songwriter but it's not like he didn't have spotty or bad albums. And who is to say that "the Beatles" would have never put out a bad album if they had stayed together throughout the 70's and 80's(if the tragedy of losing Lennon hadn't occurred)? And how ironic is it that Marsh called "Jazz" "fascist" when Brian and Roger are certainly pretty far to the Left and despise bigotry of any kind. Brian is like a "Democratic Socialist" who is a big proponent of animal and human rights! So, just ignore critics. They have their own personal bias not rooted in reality or fun for that matter.
@@jasongaylor2232 @SwingRiots Speaking as a Queen and a Springsteen fan (Bat Out Of Hell is a great album too, inspired by Springsteen), I'm not sure why people are pitting them against each other. Critics being biased doesn't mean we can't enjoy things. Bruce and Freddie are some of the greatest live performers and bandleaders/frontmen of all time. The E Street Band is great, Queen is great. I will say that Springsteen and Queen were different in their approach: The four Queen songwriters were very competitive, which resulted in great songs that were each tailored to the songwriter's preferences. However, great songs didn't necessarily mean a "thematically cohesive" album. It doesn't mean they're *bad* albums, it's just that the expectation for albums in those days was often a sense of thematic and musical cohesion. Queen delivered musical diversity and great songs (even the deep cuts) but I hesitate to say they fit that expectation. In my personal opinion, I think they were strong musicians, but not necessarily strong lyricists (Freddie could make anything sound good). Springsteen was the undisputed leader of the E Street band and a singer-songwriter. And he was a storyteller that was essentially depicting the development of the American Dream across albums. He was very much an album-oriented storytelling artist. And he had his share of fun songs as well (Cadillac Ranch, Rosalita, Sherry Darling). The duality of joy and despair is common theme in his work. Probably not as strong musicians as Queen (The vocal harmonies and guitar orchestrations plus Deacy amp made Queen pretty good in the studio, plus their live performance). Anyway, I just wanted to lay out some of the differences between the artists. I'm sure everyone has preferences.
That movie bring some consequences. Of course it detailed the greatness of queen but it also made their fans *NEVER SHUT UP!!* same things happened to straight outta compton NWA
And the movie makers pretended like all queens songs are the ones in their greatest hits album. the band made lots of crappy songs They are like prince, they are talented but released lots of trash
I will say this abt NWA at least the 4 surviving members were instrumental in the navies being made yk hell ice cubes kid played cube (this is a good and bad thing)
There is ALWAYS a group of people that say a classic band or musician like Queen or Beatles is overrated. It just always happens. It's human nature to say "that thing was popular and I don't get it so it must be overrated."
Talking Aren't you just agreeing with me, since every music scene is included in the total population? What I'm saying is that every music scene has these people.
Talking Division Ah I see :0 yeah it is, I can understand when people backup their dislike with actual opinions but I think it's a silly to just label a band "overrated" :/
de-void well those are a lot of the fake Queen fans honestly. And everyone has their own taste. They might prefer a band over another. I think The Beatles is the best, and Queen is somewhere behind them. I adore both bands.
@Gordon Wright I don't think Nirvana was ever considered average. Not as big as they were post suicide, but they sold out the god damn reading festival and knocked Michael Jackson off the charts. Queen in there day was meh, but Nirvana was already huge- they just got bigger.
@Gordon Wright Queen is attacked and called overrated because groups of people who like other bands are salty that their favorite bands didn't match queens success.
Queen are one of the greatest rock bands of all time, hands down. Freddie Mercury was a once in a generation talent not only vocally but also as a Showman and songwriter. Brian May’s guitar work is absolutely masterful. You’d struggle to find better constructed music than BoRhap, Somebody to Love, Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Under Pressure etc.
Simon Gunkel Exactly, he played his part very well,he is one of the best, maybe not top 10 best, but definitely top 20, he played very dynamic and complex basslines in alot of their more progressive rock songs, and even in things like You're My Best Friend and Crazy Little Thing Called Love,he goes up and down scales and adds a really cool swing feel, he was a perfect bassist tbh.
Queen was a great band. That being said, I think they were more of a great singles band than a great album band. ANATO was clearly their masterpiece, but a lot of their albums aren't great top to bottom. I'm not a huge fan of their album cuts. Just my .02...
They have 13 albums, IMO Qeen II, sheer heart attack and ANATO are brillant, my favorite one, top to bottom is Queen II. Their other '70s albums are all decent to good IMO. I don't care for their 80s projects but, truth be said, growing up as a teen in this area myself, there are very few albums I still like and enjoy listening to... I recently realised with great sadness that I don't care for U2's music anymore, very sad for me... I don' t know of any band or artists with 13 good or great albums. It's difficult to keep on being creative for so long and to adapt to the change of music style. So, for me, nothing to say against their early music, and in the end, they developped their live performances, Freddie was a better front man, and they were more a live act than a studio one. And an excellent one. I believe, if we want to compare (which I'm not sure we should) we should compare what is comparable, 20 years careers with 20 years careers, same number of albums, all aspects of music (studio and live) and so on.
Most of their 70's records are great top to bottom. They were very consistent during that decade. I would put their 70's discography up against any band. It's that damn good.
Hip Hop Has And Always Will Be Trash I mean, best would be some of the greatest songs ever created imo, Bo Rap, The March Of The Black Queen, Ogre Battle, The Hitman, Hang On In There, The Prophets Song and a lot of other songs, Queen is the best band imo and they have the best sounding production amd quality along with masterful songwriting and executing. Literally as close to a perfect band as anybody has ever gotten.
Seeing people say The Cure is overrated hurts my heart. Like, have they listened to "Close to Me" or "Fascination Street"? "The Love Cats"? "Killing an Arab" (probably not I guess, it was only on a live album, but still)? I'll concede I too think "Friday I'm In Love" is a kitschy song, but they're easily the most catchy of the early goth bands. They were really the first band to make post-punk/goth stomach-able for a mass audience, and they made some timeless classics of those genres in the process. When I was in late high school, I really connected with their music, and along with some of the early Metallica I was into, Joy Division, and a couple of the early '80s hardcore punk acts I liked, The Cure is one of the few acts I was into when I was an angst lord that doesn't make me cringe to death whenever I put them on now.
Derek Troxel that cure comment hurt lol. I definitely agree with you. Halo will always be one of my favorite songs by them it’s just so cute in that dorky gothy Robert Smith way.
killing an arab is not only on a live album.. anyway I agree the cure were never considered the biggest band in rock n roll but just a good new wave band so I do not see how they would be overrated... they recorded some solid albums (kiss kiss kiss.. 17 secs... pornography...) and some great singles. Friday I am in love is a totally unjustifiable pick as it was a super minor hit form a late period.. it's like talking I don't know dire straits and picking "so far away"...
Honestly, there was some really great ska music and ska influenced music and it really needs a resurgence. I get that third wave had alot of mediocrity like reel big fish, but that doesn't mean the whole genre is deserving to die.

It was a day like any other. Anthony Fantano, the Internet’s busiest music nerd, was hard at work listening to music that he was to review. It was sunny, and slightly humid, so he had left his shirt off for the day. His girlfriend was dealing with an emergency at work. But all of a sudden, Anthony heard a knock at his door. His muscles rippled as he got up from his desk chair. He slowly walked to the door… He saw a dark silhouette through the window. “I wonder who that could be…?” Anthony wondered. He slowly opened the door. And, to his great surprise, his biggest idol was standing before him… MC Ride. Or as his friends call him, Stefan. MC Ride peeked in the doorway, and said, “H-hey… um I don’t know if you know me… b-but I’m in a band and our van broke down about a half mile back… I w-was hoping you had some tools laying around…” Now, although Anthony had always loved Death Grips and their music, he tried to play it cool. After all, he kind of had a crush on Stefan ever since he heard his voice on Beware. Luckily, Anthony had a big shed in his back yard full of his dad’s old mechanic tools. Anthony smiled, and replied, “Sure… I recognize you. What band again? Deaf grapes or something?” “N-no… Death Grips…” answered MC Ride. Anthony laughed. “ha-ha, that’s right! just come on in! I could definitely give you a tool to use…” He led MC Ride to his back yard. On the way, He could feel Ride’s gaze on him. He wondered if he liked what he saw. He opened the door to the shed, and Ride quickly shuffled in to grab what he needed. “He’s even cuter in real life…” Thought Anthony. On the way back, Anthony hastily offered Ride a beer. “Hey man, want to have a beer? You seem like a cool dude.” “Well… Zach and Andy are waiting for me… but I guess a quick beer wouldn’t hurt I guess.” Mumbled Ride. At first, they sat awkwardly in Fantano’s living room. But then they started talking about Death Grips and other music. They were soon off on a riveting conversation. After a while, Anthony said; “hey… I haven’t really been honest with you Stefan… Can I call you that? To tell the truth, I know a lot about Death Grips. I’m pretty much your biggest fan.” “Ha-ha… Yes I know… and I have to confess something too. I watch almost all of your video reviews. Y-you could say that I’m your biggest fan.” Anthony then did something very risky. He laid his hand on Stefan’s leg, right above the knee. Their eyes met, and the next thing Anthony knew, their lips were locked and they were lying on the couch together. “Can Andy and Zach wait?” asked Anthony. Ride’s response was to continue kissing him. They made out like this for a few minutes, and then Ride started slowly moving down to Anthony’s private area, kissing his beautiful chest on the way down. “Please” whispered Anthony. MC Ride slowly unbuttoned Anthony’s black shorts. Anthony’s rock hard penis sprang up, and MC Ride started sucking it off. It was the best blowjob of Anthony’s life. Far better than any blowjob his girlfriend had ever given him. The way Stefan’s tongue moved… it was amazing. “Ohhhh Stefan… I think I want you to do the nasty in my taxi!” yelled Anthony. “I AM THE BEAST YOU WORSHIP” replied MC Ride as he took Anthony’s cock out of his mouth. Anthony bent over on the couch, and got on his knees. Ride undid his all-black jeans, and revealed his lengthy penis. He started to put his throbbing penis into Anthony’s butt, when all of a sudden, “IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES YUUHHHH!!!!!” “Oh my God!!” screamed Anthony. “You get-get-get-get got-got-got-got it in!” MC Ride wasn’t a tender lover. He pumped and pumped until finally, in euphoria, he came inside of Anthony’s butt. He withdrew, exhausted, and laid down next to Anthony, who had reached orgasm as well. “H-how was it?” Asked Stefan. “you’re good…” Whispered Anthony. Whispered Anthony. “I liked your lovemaking. I would give you a strong six, light seven.” .
i think queen is a great band, just poorly represented at times. people hear radio gaga and another one bites the dust and think “that’s queen”, queen is so so much more than that. they changed the music industry forever and are all insanely talented. i could go on about queen forever, but all i’m gonna say is do your research on the members and dive into their discography!!
Lizzie Cook No, opinions can't be "wrong", even if Anthony disagrees with them! And in my opinion (lol) I'd rather have an unpopular opinion than have my opinion completely based off someone else's
Opinions can only be wrong if they're based on interpretations of fact. But that's not opinion, to be accurate. That's an argument. Say some bonehead believes global warming is a scam and he shows some stats from NASA. Dude's setting himself up for a complete fail.

If anything in a lot of ways Queen are severely underrated. They pretty much invented/kickstarted Thrash Metal music with their song Stone Cold Crazy which not many would know about. Seriously look up Dragon Attack, Keep Yourself Alive, there are so many lesser known Queen songs that are absolute killer songs. Maybe their hits are overplayed? Definitely not overrated
There are better examples of 70's proto-thrash. Stone Cold Crazy is fast and has that riff but people wouldn't mention it as often if Metallica didn't cover it.
@@davorbrijacak I disagree if you listen to Hit The Lights you can clearly here the direct influence from Stone Cold Crazy, regardless if Metallica covered it or not

I'd Say That Queen Is Actually Underrated. Most Of Queen's "Fans" Only Listen To Queen's Most Popular Songs (We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You, Don't Stop Me Now) While Completely Ignoring Some Of Their More Underrated Songs Like My Fairy King, The March Of The Black Queen, Seven Seas Of Rhyne, In The Lap Of The Gods, Made In Heaven And Many More, Which Is Kind Of Infuriating.
I think Queen's songs are probably overrated but not the band itself. The 2 things I can't stand is that nobody knows Queen is the band that made We Will Rock You, and the idiots that misquote old song lyrics because of some dumb commercial that twisted the lyrics to fit their advertisements.
CalfMan yeah I think there is a lot of low balling when it comes to Queen. Institutions pick the most listenable and mainstream of the songs and pump them into the masses. Queen have some fantastic obscure stuff and it's really worth taking the plunge into their album work.
Queen consists of an amazingly talented guitarist and songwriter, great rhythmic drummer, heavy/groovy bass flow, and the best vocalist to walk the earth. I wouldn’t say they are overrated
@Comrade Vadim whole lotta goods and bads, not a lot of backing up being done here. You do realise they've had a cult following since pretty much their inception, right? Saying "people only like them because it's cool to like them" is easily rebutted with "people only hate them because it's cool to hate them". Name me a more forward thinking MAINSTREAM rock song than Bohemian Rhapsody
Comrade Vadim yeah I would say it is crowd cause I believe it’s for everyone that’s why amor follow them but yeah I personally think they are the best because they speak more to me but to me it’s the beatles then Queen
Queen itself is not overrated. In fact I’d say their underrated, because most people only know a few songs by them and never listen to anything else by them. If you seriously listen to full albums by them...they are fucking amazing. Beautifully written lyrics, and just fantastic all around imo.
Krygio well I disagree. They continued to release some of their most iconic music all the way up to Freddie’s death. Their 70’s stuff was more consistent tho.
Totally agree with Pink Floyd Animals, it's my favourite. However, I understand why a lot of people claim Dark Side to be their best, it's probably their definitive album. The Wall is good but it's not their best by a long shot. Animals is that little gem that gets under looked by many and that is criminal.
Señor MeinKrafter2020 Bro, fuck all of their hits, I wouldnt care if they all disappeared, their album songs are the reason i love them, theyre all masterpieces and way WAY better than their hits, The March Of The Black Queen, Ogre Battle, Great King Rat, The Prophets Song, My Fairy King, Father To Son, '39, It's Late, Keep Passing The Open Windows, Hang On In There, Was It All Worth It among so many other songs, they are 100% an album band, I fucking hate when people only listen to the hits because the hits dont do them justice, its their lesser known side of their catalog that makes them one of the greatest bands in history.
I disagree. I think overrated can mean good but just not as good as everyone states. As a gamer, I played the entire Bioshock series. One matched with the status quo, second was underappreciated, third one overrated. Is the third game a bad game? No but it's not as good as people claimed. The gameplay was simplified and felt solid so it's good. However everyone else claimed it was better than solid, thus being overrated.
@@aryanahmed2199 If anything Bioshock 2 is underrated because that game gets shat on so much. Sure the first is better as the second is just more of the same but sometimes that's all a sequel needs to accomplish.
@@nerdyneedsalife8315 I liked 2 a lot actually. I thought it worked well as an addition to 1. Of course it isn’t even close to being as good as 1, but I thought it was a pretty good sequel.

When I think of “most overrated”, I think of the band with the largest disparity between talent & popularity. To me the most popular band with the least talent is EASILY Def Leppard.
Wow, there are far worse bands that have a lot more hype than Def Leppard. Five Finger Deathpunch comes to mind. Edit: Kiss also comes to mind. Def Leppard has at least 2 good songs
Shredder Steve I’m old. I don’t really know any five finger death punch. Sadly I have to agree about KISS. Even though they are a guilty pleasure for me. Def Leppard does have at least 2 good songs, but they are both on High and Dry. That was over 30 years ago. Nothing worth listening to since then.
Shredder Steve I think when Def Leppard brought in Viv Campbell & still didn’t have a respectable guitar sound, that sealed their “most overrated” status for me. That was the guitar on Holy Diver. If Hysteria has been their first album instead of the fourth, they would be considered bubble gum pop.

Yeh man I'm feeling really Bohemian Rhapsody today.
100% this
They were 4 talented and professionnal artists who found each other. Anyone who listen to their music properly know that ! Don't forget Taylor wrote I'm in love with my car, the lyrics are silly but I like the music, and I like him singing.
Yeah almost all of the songs are amazing apart from the rubbish that Wyclif Jean did with another one bites the dust.
And people need to remember that the singing is only a small part of their music and a small part of music in general
But Freddie's singing voice tho

Kate Goss I wished I heard Bicycle races, Don’t stop me now and Killer Queen more.
@Jaden LaFrance Dumb kids will always be dumb kids, happens with pretty much any band.
@Jaden LaFrance I didn't realize this was an issue. Are there really young Queen fans going to Beatles videos and complaining or making comparisons? I can understand that being frustrating for you. So I suppose it's justifiable that you're here on a sort of vendetta.

But some comments are very annoying especially when, on every cover of a Queen song, there’s one quote that’s repeated and it’s the “You can do whatever you want with my music but don’t make me boring”. It’s a great quote but some fans have made it annoying

Ok, so Queen is my favorite band, and I agree with him for this reasons:

That reaction to the cure tweet is spot on. My man.
SwingRiots wait no no jungleland is good🥺its so poetic and it has that indescribable x factor
@kkm engineering he is not saying anything negative, wtf. Why are all the Queen fans so sensitive.
Xtc are better.Queen are overrated
That movie bring some consequences. Of course it detailed the greatness of queen but it also made their fans *NEVER SHUT UP!!* same things happened to straight outta compton NWA

the band made lots of crappy songs
They are like prince, they are talented but released lots of trash
I will say this abt NWA at least the 4 surviving members were instrumental in the navies being made yk hell ice cubes kid played cube (this is a good and bad thing)
There is ALWAYS a group of people that say a classic band or musician like Queen or Beatles is overrated. It just always happens. It's human nature to say "that thing was popular and I don't get it so it must be overrated."
Talking Aren't you just agreeing with me, since every music scene is included in the total population? What I'm saying is that every music scene has these people.
Tow El I'm not saying people don't have legitimate reasons for disliking these bands, but I think a band being "overrated" isn't a valid reason.
Talking Division Ah I see :0 yeah it is, I can understand when people backup their dislike with actual opinions but I think it's a silly to just label a band "overrated" :/
Queen is overrated because many people think they're the "greatest band of all time" while there are bands that are better than them in every way
de-void well those are a lot of the fake Queen fans honestly. And everyone has their own taste. They might prefer a band over another. I think The Beatles is the best, and Queen is somewhere behind them. I adore both bands.

2pac is the most overrated band
What is the role of the bass guitar in rock music? John Deacon.

Okay but Dark Side Of the Moon or The Wall?
Cuts?
At the start of their career they had solid albums but post night of the opera they’re way more singles driven

Hip Hop Has And Always Will Be Trash Many people like Fantano feel, in Queen's case, the best of what they have is good.

MC Ride peeked in the doorway, and said,
“H-hey… um I don’t know if you know me… b-but I’m in a band and our van broke down about a half mile back… I w-was hoping you had some tools laying around…”
Now, although Anthony had always loved Death Grips and their music, he tried to play it cool. After all, he kind of had a crush on Stefan ever since he heard his voice on Beware. Luckily, Anthony had a big shed in his back yard full of his dad’s old mechanic tools.
Anthony smiled, and replied, “Sure… I recognize you. What band again? Deaf grapes or something?”
“N-no… Death Grips…” answered MC Ride.
Anthony laughed. “ha-ha, that’s right! just come on in! I could definitely give you a tool to use…”
He led MC Ride to his back yard.
You seem like a cool dude.”
“Well… Zach and Andy are waiting for me… but I guess a quick beer wouldn’t hurt I guess.” Mumbled Ride.
I’m pretty much your biggest fan.”
“Ha-ha… Yes I know… and I have to confess something too. I watch almost all of your video reviews. Y-you could say that I’m your biggest fan.”
Anthony then did something very risky.
He started to put his throbbing penis into Anthony’s butt, when all of a sudden,
“IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES YUUHHHH!!!!!”
“Oh my God!!” screamed Anthony. “You get-get-get-get got-got-got-got it in!”
MC Ride wasn’t a tender lover.
I would give you a strong six, light seven.”

Zan Man I'm crying. That was so beautiful.
I think I came
i think queen is a great band, just poorly represented at times. people hear radio gaga and another one bites the dust and think “that’s queen”, queen is so so much more than that. they changed the music industry forever and are all insanely talented. i could go on about queen forever, but all i’m gonna say is do your research on the members and dive into their discography!!
Hell, Stone Cold Crazy is the precursor to Speed Metal!
"Lets argue" more like "lets post our humble opinions to have Anthony furiously shut us down"
Kevin Deegan they’re asking for it.
Humble? Yeah, these opinions were anything but humble.
Wrong opinions* in this case
Lizzie Cook No, opinions can't be "wrong", even if Anthony disagrees with them! And in my opinion (lol) I'd rather have an unpopular opinion than have my opinion completely based off someone else's
Opinions can only be wrong if they're based on interpretations of fact. But that's not opinion, to be accurate. That's an argument. Say some bonehead believes global warming is a scam and he shows some stats from NASA. Dude's setting himself up for a complete fail.
My favorite Queen song is Despacito.
A sad little ducky Are you kidding me? The best queen song is obviously whiteboy
THATS NOT EVEN A QUEEN SONG!!! You are all idiots! The best queen song that is ACCTUALLY a queen song is obviously "Never Gonna Give You Up"
@@slurpiegames Don't want to be rude, but that's not even a good Queen song... I only listen to SEX
Nope gangnam style is the best Queen song of all time
Bruh it obviously hey jude
Please never stop doing this
I’m not a toxic stan who will attack people for being against queen but I angrily clutched my blanket when I saw this video. I just love queen so much.
Its cool to hate on queen fans now I guess
Sheady No not really, i love queen and it was the first band I ever heard, but when there’s other talent like deep purple and Black Sabbath and they say that queen is one of the greatest when there’s Ian Gillan and Brad Delp, you can see why people say there overrated and it doesn’t mean that there bad
queen fans are hated on because they’re associated with the people who wear nirvana tshirts without knowing a damn thing about nirvana.
when i say that im a queen fan, i feel that i have the duty to begin to list all of the songs off of Queen 1 and 2, Sheer Heart Attack, ANATO and ADATR, News of the World and so forth that way the person knows i’m not some loser who only knows their 3 most popular songs
Whatever widely praised and influential band I didn't grow up with is overrated
Does the word overrated have any meaning anymore?
There's a starman waiting in the sky idek
There's a starman waiting in the sky ikr, people say everything is overrated
That word is sooooo overrated.
zevvay :p
I hate when someone says something is “criminally underrated”. Cringe
Tupac writing every song with a z instead of an s is the equivalent to kids running around school naruto style
gangsta cringe
Underrated
If anything in a lot of ways Queen are severely underrated. They pretty much invented/kickstarted Thrash Metal music with their song Stone Cold Crazy which not many would know about. Seriously look up Dragon Attack, Keep Yourself Alive, there are so many lesser known Queen songs that are absolute killer songs. Maybe their hits are overplayed? Definitely not overrated
There are better examples of 70's proto-thrash. Stone Cold Crazy is fast and has that riff but people wouldn't mention it as often if Metallica didn't cover it.
@@davorbrijacak I disagree if you listen to Hit The Lights you can clearly here the direct influence from Stone Cold Crazy, regardless if Metallica covered it or not
"Queen invented thrash" GTFO
@@emperorofwar1 Name a thrash song before Stone Cold Crazy in 1974 then 😂
Hey this isn't totally related to the post but you guys should listen to Dragon Attack. It's an extremely underrated Queen track and I'm tryna promote it.
Ska is excellent when it’s good and horrible when it’s bad
"I'd rather listen to Lil Uzi Vert all my life than 1 Lil Wayne song"
Found the pleb who's never listened to any of the dedication or da drought mixtapes.
Anthony Fantano is the most overrated melon of all time
Cantalopue > Watermelon > Fantano > meloncholy
Kuba Tyniec I'm surprised Hammer to Fall isn't as big as Radio GaGa or Under Pressure. It's as underrated as Don't Look Back - Boston (
CalfMan yeah I think there is a lot of low balling when it comes to Queen. Institutions pick the most listenable and mainstream of the songs and pump them into the masses. Queen have some fantastic obscure stuff and it's really worth taking the plunge into their album work.
Loving the Brock Hampton sweater
Some of Anthony's fans are very young. LiL Uzi Vert over Lil Wayne mixtape era? Please.
Queen consists of an amazingly talented guitarist and songwriter, great rhythmic drummer, heavy/groovy bass flow, and the best vocalist to walk the earth. I wouldn’t say they are overrated
'Best vocalist to walk the earth' ?
Define overrated..
Comrade Vadim eh agree to disagree
Ikr. Every member of Queen wrote a hit single. That’s talent
Comrade Vadim yeah I would say it is crowd cause I believe it’s for everyone that’s why amor follow them but yeah I personally think they are the best because they speak more to me but to me it’s the beatles then Queen
These are always too short
In this comment section: People calling Beatles overrated while only knowing Let it Be, Yellow Submarine and Hey Jude
Queen itself is not overrated. In fact I’d say their underrated, because most people only know a few songs by them and never listen to anything else by them. If you seriously listen to full albums by them...they are fucking amazing. Beautifully written lyrics, and just fantastic all around imo.
Their 80s stuff is terrible tho
Krygio well I disagree. They continued to release some of their most iconic music all the way up to Freddie’s death. Their 70’s stuff was more consistent tho.
Totally agree with Pink Floyd Animals, it's my favourite. However, I understand why a lot of people claim Dark Side to be their best, it's probably their definitive album. The Wall is good but it's not their best by a long shot. Animals is that little gem that gets under looked by many and that is criminal.
XplosivX ahhh I love the wall, I’m sorry but I like The Wall the best
Wish you were here....
Do Queen Best to Worst
Kiril Janakiev they're not an album band really
No one cares about their album songs. People only care about the 5 or so highly extremely overrated songs that they made.
@@tplouffe9226 Overrated.
Clicked right away because Queen is my favorite band they're fucking opera rock boiiiii
dyladino you like megaman too :3 yay
Best band of all time!
Honestly one of the best series on RUclips atm 👍🏻👍🏻
Everyone here including Fantano himself seems to think that overated means bad
@@nerdyneedsalife8315 fr fr I have no idea why people like infinite so much I thought it was an average game while 1 and 2 were so much better
Pink Floyd’s “Pigs” blew my mind when I was stoned and heard it for the first time. Animals... Hell yeah.
I really wish these were 15 mins long, like come on melon I know you got more tweets to read.
Appreciate you not dismissing ska as some novelty genre as most of my music- head friends do. When I tell people I listen to ska music they think I'm joking. Some of the best shows I've ever been to were ska shows. And yes Choking Victim is awesome.
I’m ready to fight anyone who thinks they’re overrated. Bri, Freddie, Roger, and Deacy put their heart into these songs. That’s why they’re popular.
If you can’t accept other peoples opinions that’s your problem
Aye man please make these longer.
This is the best series on the channel, keep it up Tony Fantano!
Death Grips, is the most correctly-rated band ever
I'm not a queen fan but you have to respect queens impact, their talent and legacy.
thatreally9dmy11 all they did was give everyone aids

@@randomherosvid aids isnt funny, its not something to joke about
Christopher Carr God you’re a dick
Someone who says a band is overrated probably isn't even caught up on anything that band has put out.
Did you know, ska came before reggae?
To the guy saying surf rock needs a resurgence: please attend any local show in Los Angeles. You will never wish for such a thing again.
AC/DC is another popular band with minimal talent.
RogueReplicant it’s not about the talent, man. It’s about the music. True, they did release the same album 11 times, but they did have some bangers
I feel the spirit of thatistheplan trickling back through this series.
Jewlz Cartagena why’d that channel get taken down?
Hannah Montana He didn’t like that he kept getting demonetized.
So much sexual aggression
The Lorde one made me say "Oh fuck!" out loud. That was a good one
