I loved this phone! it was a very clever and ergonomic. The dual cameras were pretty good (I had the camera module as well) but the build quality wasn't great as well as software support back then.
I have one of these that I will use as an inexpensiv backup phone and am about to get another to use as a viewfinder for my Osmo Pocket Cameras. Good Screen, sufficient power and replaceable batteries sole me on them.
I had this and really loved this phone. Sadly the build quality is really poor for a "flagship" phone. Screen got shadow or burn in just a year after I bought it and battery got really suck
I remember so well the day this phone and the Galaxy S7 both got released 🫤 The G5 was just inferior compared to the S7, plus the only thing this modular design added to the phone was making it a frail and easy-to-break phone 🤷🏻♂️ Even the HTC 10 and Xperia XZ coming after were better than this, LG really spiraled into a downfall after the G5
The phone just naturally runs hot in my experience. Not overheating levels of warm but far warmer than a modern phone. It is probably just the old CPU having to handle modern apps. Google play services is particularly heavy on older phones. I don't have a concrete answer though unfortunately
