1:40 Trackmania saves its replays as input files, which it plays back in-engine when they're loaded. Because of this, you can check each replay with an input display even if it's not initially recorded with one -- which is how a bunch of people were caught all at once and a massive scandal broke out.
anyone remember playing the Trackmania/TrackRacingOnline on gaming websites back when Unity Web Player/Flash wasn’t dead? those were quite the fond memories!
I just want Patterz to react to "Watch for rolling rock in 0.5xA" or "SM64's ivisable walls explained once and for all" from Panennkoek2012 just to watch him be absolutely flabbergasted by PU's, floor overshadowing and much more.
"How do you figure this out man?" Does that mean you dont know about SM64s lord and savior Pannenkoek? He is an absolute TASing legend and as Karl pointed out kind of a SM64 scientist. Highly recommend watching his iconic "Watch for rolling rocks in 0.5 A presses" video for a glimpse of the madness that goes into SM64 mechanics. A true classic.
The 120 star category is alive more than ever after a "recent" discovery. A 50+ second timesave was discovered. Before the trick was a big meme in the community but someone found a way to get it consistent. Still people are pushing daily to get a pb/wr.
It fascinates me how smart people are with this - crime investigation field should be growing in professionalism as there's so many smart people out there!
Love the early 2000's graphic engine aesthetics of N64 games; reminds me of 'Fighting Force' :D I had some xp with Motion Capture and gotta admit even though Nintendo has always created a seriously fluid and accurate movement animations and overall choreography for games, they set the industry standard with the new Marios and Zeldas games. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
People have always been hacking Monster Hunter. Those people suck to lobby with. But now we have streaming and these same hackers are cheating in front of thousands of people. They are dumb.
I remember being in elementary school and my teacher would always give me a tape of someone reading a book only because, for some reason, I'd just refuse books. I had an early Audiobook subscription 😂 The book I remember most is Bunnicula. It's about a killer bunny or something 😅
I have a feeling you would be fascinated by Watch for Rolling Rocks done in 0.5x A Presses. It is a legendary video, especially if you have an interest in speedrunning / technical game knowledge.
Monster hunter is soooo fun I’m replaying 4U right now and I’m having such a good time. Also if you want to be part of the mh world but can’t get into the main series games, I can’t recommend the Stories series enough!! It’s super fun and more of a creature collector than fighting monsters only, and it’s just so enjoyable
You asked why people who are good at the game cheat, and unfortunately, the answer is just that they're lazy. The hardest part of speedrunning isn't getting good at the game; anyone can do that with a bit of practice. The hard part is just grinding runs until you get the record. There are so many tiny things that can go wrong, even in a short game, that it takes a *long* time to get a record. Hundreds, if not thousands of attempts just to take one step closer. Some people know they have the skill to get a world record, but they don't have the patience to earn it. So they cheat. In their mind, they're just skipping the boring grind to get the record that they deserve now.
cheaters just likes the clout and other things that comes with it as for monster hunter, it depends on what you want for games but the game has good gameplay loop that keeps you around
If you're going to bother going through all of these cheating methods and discovering new ones, then why not just be a "cheat hunter" for the community instead of trying to get new times? You'll get just as much respect for studying and understanding the game without the ridicule of using cheats, because it's in the name of science.

Damm imagine getting caught because someone randomly decided to watch some Trackmania replays.
Mario kart Wii also famously, lots of games save inputs without controversies too tho lol.

massive agree though the Full world record progression for the A button challenge by Bismuth would also be great for blowing his mind
@@aboveaveragegaming5503 I forgot about that, but that is also a good option.
It's also funny that the 0.5xA is outdated now (0 just work)
@@astorakino829 I know, but 0.5xA is much more infumous.
no for sure if pat things this is nuts he has no idea what mario 64 is capable of

I'd rather have him watch the invisible wall documentary. He gets to see the madness AND he gets to find out just how bad at coding Nintendo truly is.
@@milesfarber I'd honestly love to watch him through the whole 3.75 hours and watch his brain melt in slow motion, as did mine.
Got caught by the animation cycle of Mario blinking I would never expect that way to catch a cheater.

There's a reason the dark souls no-hit community was difficult to get into. IIRC they required live-stream footage to be considered for acceptance
I'm scared someone will dig up my victims at some point in the future.

Can't believe it was believed for so many years.
They found the Zodiak Killer?!?
Might need to fact check that one?

Older DOOM: I literally invented what you just said and to this day, people still get new records on me, am I a joke to you?
Monster Hunter is like pokemon except you turn the pokemon you faint into weapons and armor

Im sorry pat
Monster Hunter is pretty fun you should try it out and maybe do it with Dylan since he too loves those games. Could be a fun video
Actually one of the most competitive speed run games is Ultrakill.
More patterzz is goated, as is your second channel Patterzz :p
