QT: describes all the markers of a high risk pregnancy
WIll and Hasan: IT'S BABY TIME
the way she looks to austin for help
The whole reaction to her situation was actually unhinged and insensitive . Sorry 🤷♂️
@@Greg-bh4jp it was. but unhinged and insensitive is the ethos of this pod so you have to take the good with the bad.
Right like hun. Pls be reasonable 😅😅
@@hinasakukimiand Austin being the straight gay man that he is just laughs lol
This is why Qt is an important member of this pod
you beat me to it, i love her
Agree. I must admit, QT was my least favorite (along with Will) when I first began watching. Now, they are my faves. Hasan always seems checked out nowadays and Austin just talks about twinks.
so the gyno's bedside manner leaves something to be desired but it sounds like she went and did some research to see if she could accommodate QT's need to avoid anaesthesia which is pretty pogchamp of her
Agreed
As a listener of Wine About It, QT simplifies A LOT. Example is at 5:45 where she says "I've got no eggs," then clarifies later she does have but "it's pretty bad." You just see how they kind of get a slight sigh of relief lol
I'm not judging her. This is a problem I have as well with my friends so it's funny when QT does this and Maya gets shocked/ scared for a second until she clarifies LOL. Reminds me of my interaction with my friends.
Anyways point is, I don't think we should hasten to judge the doctor. Although it would definitely be messed up if QT, this time, wasn't simplifying things
Or the doc went home and googled if it was possible and went “oop well waddyaknow”
@@avakiin6614 what episode of wine about it was it?
@apricotllama6383 I havent watched it in awhile but it's not like QT changed when it comes to this lol just play any episode and you'd likely find an example.
I haven't been able to listen to full episodes of podcasts in general recently. I need to catch up to both of QT's podcasts, Lily and Poke's new podcast, and the Yard.
Yes there are such things as dumb questions and they were asking all of them 😂
Also life of a hypochondriac is so wild bc you get so overwhelmed thinking you have something wrong and then when you're finally affirmed it's overwhelming lmao
This is the only source of knowledge for such issues for thousands of men btw
No there's no dumb questions here
Only a weird guy would know gyno stuff
@@DemosApollono it isn't
Really hoping the best for QT, this stuff fucking sucks to deal with
I feel bad for her and other women dealing with this
will was unhinged in this😭
He always is lol
@ i mean you’re not wrong lol
I know they are joking and all but I hate how casually they tell qt to get pregnant, truly a men moment
Right, where’s the emotional intelligence?
i'm sure they meant well (trying to be funny), but sometimes it's not the time
I was in physical pain watching this, qt is being so vulnerable and expressing something that was hard and ik these guys are friends but they joke abt it so bad.
I have PCOS and while this doctor seems like they have no bedside manner, pretty much the only advice I've been given is lose weight so at least she seems to be getting SOME healthcare
she's getting some second opinion I hope, you too
she got healthcare because she is already skinny
I mean, if you’re obese that is the likely cause.
Ah yes. Lose weight to help with your Can't Lose Weight disease
@tamhuy10 she did tell Austin that she was "going to get there" when he asked about a second opinion. So maybe she set up an appointment with another gyno.
I’m sure QT is not gonna read this, but just in case: hi, I’m a medical doctor based in Brazil (so not licensed in the US and therefore this is 100% #notmedicaladvice) but I’m sorry you had so much to deal with after just one visit to your doctor. By what you said, you do have the necessary 2 out of 3 criteria for the PCOS diagnosis and while that can feel scary there are many ways to deal with the symptoms. Combined contraceptives or just isolated progesterone can help you deal breakouts and the annoying hair growth, which by what you explained your doctor already put you on, but a regular daily exercise routine can go along way by helping you deal with the symptoms (and even with the long term resistance to insulin which can eventually lead to diabetes). If anesthesia for the endoscopic treatment of the polyps is a concern, try to set up a consultation with your doctor’s partnered anesthesiologist to see what options you have at your disposal. You don’t necessarily need to be put under general to have the procedure done and a good doctor will always try to adjust your experience to give you the maximum level of comfort possible so that you’ll actually feel good about taking care of yourself. Don’t feel discouraged!
That’s such good advice i totally should’ve talked to the anesthesiologist before my pcos surgery
Very crazy to me that both professional doctors and my unemployed ass are watching the same people talk about their lives for an hour
Ow you'll be surprised... Some of us are licensed professionals... Engineers, Architects, Lawyers etc.
That's why I don't like streamers belittling chat...
its a bit different, but I'm on testosterone and azelaic acid is the only thing that's helped with my hormonal acne, so that might be a good option for QT in terms of acne care
Doctor tell me how to get rid of blackheads
OMG, QTs story is so reminicent of when I was diagnosed with PCOS that shit was traumatizing, but for me they didn't even go into full detail on anything essentially just gave me all the bad news about it, told me I would be on birth control for the rest of my life and got me out the door. I was 17 too like wtf do I know. Honestly such a shitty shitty process. Hope all goes well for her
I've heard SO many women describe similar experiences to yours. Absolutely horrible how women's health is so neglected. And they put women on birth control without warning them of the consequences too. I hope you found better doctors and are doing okay.
Think of anesthetic as like hitting the "skip" button for a cutscene. One moment you are waiting in a room and the next moment you wake up with the surgery all done.
True its crazy. I woke up like "so when are we doing this surgery" and was in disbelief when they said it was done already.
For real. Went nighty night and the next thing I know I'm in recovery and the nurse was like "you're in the recovery room and the Dr said everything went great!"
Everything up to sleepy time straight up sucked, but it literally felt like seconds passed when I woke up.
There's an anesthesiologist on RUclips, he talks about how Gen Z has a very different experience with anaesthetics and tries to raise awareness of it, it's due to a few factors, one of which is that many Gen Z patients aren't very good at disclosing certain things about their drug/alcohol use and sleep patterns which makes it harder for anaesthesiologists to do their jobs. PTSD, depression/anxiety meds, marijuana use, psychedelic use, lack of sleep, attention issues and overuse of devices, all contribute to a very different landscape of brain alertness compared to previous generations, and so many unexpected things end up happening on the operating table as a result
qt deserves everything good
feel so bad for QT :( so many anxiety inducing things to find out at once and the boys are being very inconsiderate
PCOS doesn’t make you infertile! I have PCOS and a baby. It just means you can’t OVULATE properly but there are things that can help ovulation induction. I’m also confused about “insulin” pill, do you mean metformin? Helps with insulin resistance? I’m desperate to talk to QT and explain this to her properly 😭
She wants a surrogate anyways because apparently her phobia of giving birth trumps the desire of having your own kid…
infertile means you have a harder time producing children- you are confusing this with being sterile!
I think she's talking about metformin and inositol. I can't figure out if she's exaggerating for comedic effect or if her doctor has given her a lot of misinformation.
@@popartpistolor perhaps she was overwhelmed and didn't get all the details straight for this podcast. Sounds like there are overlapping issues anyway
@@Cyrribrae Definitely seems like there was a bunch of info dumped on her. But if the doctor told her she was infertile because she was PCOS then that's not okay and it's not true.
I went from PCOS & endometriosis to benign brain tumour affecting my ovulation so good luck to all cysters
One of Fear&'s previous guests, Brittany Broski, has been very open about her PCOS diagnosis on her podcast. She might be a good resource if QT wanted to talk to somebody.
Agreed
Most relatable segment to date
Talking about serious women issues with immature men is triggering ...not everything is a joke
She was joking too. Its a comedy podcast. Not everytime a woman or person speaks of an issue theyre facing are they trying to do McGrim pity parties. NOt every time a woman opens her mouth is a torch wielding coveralls with the bandana femnism soap box moment.
To get uber parasocial for a sec- they're extremely extremely close friends. They know her limits. You can go watch the Atrioc recover, or minx clip. You know they can get serious. But they also are people too. theyre hearing about their friends insane fucked up condition. I get you've probably hyper sheltered yourself and dont let your heartrate get over 80 bpm without freaking out and main lining Lana Del Ray. But shes a big girl. You can watch her face in the moment. Its just some big brothers trying to distract you with cringe.
What about wills tone asking her about the anesthesia fears? Hes not being brash and asking with the like "oh you scaredy cat" hes genuinely curious. Understand shes just shooting the shit with her friends- not trying to become the next Gloria Steinem. Relax, go listen to angel maker suffer forever and like exist above 80 bpm for like 3 seconds. you got this.
So much information for a single appointment, id be overwhelmed as fuck too!
Damn qts fears are really strong I hope she can handle them one day cause as a med student I’ve seen that exact surgery done without anaesthesia and it is bad. I would definitely be more afraid of getting that without anaesthesia than anaesthesia itself which also is dangerous don’t get me wrong.
But it would be good to have that surgery your problem ARE gonna get worse.
why is everyone so scareed of anesthesia in the US? I mean if you can avoid it do so but it's absolutely not a concern in Europe, like nobody would refuse an important surgery because they're scared of anesthesia, that's unheard of here
QT has talked about getting an oral endoscopy without any sedation and having to find a doctor willing to do it that way so while it would be nice to not have to go the no anesthesia route, she seems very willing to go to whatever lengths necessary if the possibility of avoiding it is an option
@gior987 Well it like all medical stuff has its risks it can damage you or even kill you. Depending on the anathesia you can wake up mid surgery which can leave you with ptsd, I understand people that have phobias around it
@@NotD-kp3byDoes that really happen often?
Hasan full on disassociating here instead of QT 😂
Bro why are these guys so (leftwing) but the way they talk about her "whats wrong with yur pussy" sounds hella disrespectfull wth, ludwig L
Its called a joke between friends
@ Lemme put some jokes on your girlfriend buddy. …
@@MrSHADEKILLAI'm a different person but if my friends said that to me, I wouldn't be happy. I really don't like my parts being called a pussy. I also don't like the whole damn system being reduced down to pussy because then when we do try to talk about things like this and use the actual part names, nobody knows what's being talked about. I think there's a better way to make jokes about this, just not in a time where QT is being vulnerable. Would have been better to see some support.
As a woman who has gone through IVF, you can remove polyps from the uterus while awake but it does NOT feel good
You can tell that she genuinely told them on the podcast. I know they were just joking, but thinking that getting pregnant "the natural way" would be a way out of infertility (outside of all the factors that made it a joke because she just does not want to) and getting fertility treatment seems like some unprepared "I only know egg freezing for people who delay their fertility journey because I'm in LA and infertility struggles aren't sexy enough to make the news"-shit. Not hating, by the way, you could tell they cared even when Will asked her if she wanted this cut. I think it's another testament to QT's character that she purposefully chose to be public about this at a vulnerable stage in her journey and you could already see the impact in the comment section of that video where there were countless stories by others who have PCOS. It might have also been convenient because she wanted to tell her friends and was on a time crunch, but the very stressful week she had would have been enough for content without this. She really steps it up every time she thinks about her impact and the thing she chooses to do, like having marginalised gender hosts at the streamer awards or putting herself at a lower priority than her goals and ideals a lot of the times. Not saying that it would have been wrong for her to keep this private, for now or forever, that would have been her right as well and hurt no one when the way she did it helped a lot of people. Awesome human being all around, lots of love to her.
Honestly sometimes the guys on this podcast really annoy me with interruptions. She can't even talk about pretty serious medical issues without constant interruptions and jokes.
I know this is supposed to be a humorous podcast but can we let her finish a sentence before interrupting her 😒
Yeah this is the case with them all. Y’all act like shes the only one that gets interrupted while telling serious stories. Plus if they tell her anything nice she constantly tells them to shut up. They can’t even tell her she looks nice without her having to say some joke instead of her just saying a simple “thank you.”
@@yup8166 haha don't get me wrong she's pretty insufferable too.
Maybe all four of them just lack general manners 🤣
Poor QT, that's A LOT to deal with all at once.
Thank you for sharing and normalizing this conversation even with a bunch of boys being gross nasty and insensitive lmao. But yeah in all honesty I’d just adopt at that point.
“I DONT KNOW HOW THIS WORKS!” Austin then stfu 😂
Obviously this is a pretty glaring issue of the doctor's bedside manner, but I think this is also very reflective of problems most U.S. Medical professionals are facing regarding the doctor-patient ratio. The congressional budget bottlenecking residency slots makes it so many states are seeing massive doctor shortages, and SO many doctors are being expected to conclude patient visits in 15-20 minutes in order to keep up. I wonder if QTs doc was in this position, since it sounds like she was pretty urgent.
I got diagnosed with Diabetes and Hashimotos very flippantly so i understand the spiral
Take a couple days to breathe, watch your favorite shows, go for a walk and just try to chill
Then research your shit and youll get an idea of what other people did
QT anesthesia is kinda fun though, you go to sleep and then you wake up and the hard part is over
Yeah but there's a 1 in 100,000 chance you never wake up again, which is insanely high for a non-emergency solution. It really should be reserved as a last option.
@@jamesmccomb9525 Its less than 1 in a million for a routine procedure, as the 100,000 ones count surgeries that are "dangerous" in itself. You are more likely going to die in a car accident to the hospital
The easy part is going under. Everything up to that sucks. On God, for real.
@@queenpenelope_for QTs thing or in general. Mind you my experience is with the Australian hospital system going under to get my ear put back together after an accident, but it was super seamless. The chilled me out with pain/anxiety meds, I waited a little bit, went into a room, was knocked out, and woke up bandaged and was even allowed to leave the same night on request.
@@queenpenelope_oh I have the opposite problem. I'm weirdly chill leading up to surgery and after I feel like I got hit by a car.
Have been going through the same process since I started my period and having any type of condition with the American healthcare system sucks, especially as a woman because most doctors will not have any information (how can we have so little information about conditions that affect women in this day and age) or will not take you seriously. 😢 Been 12/13 years and still no real answers 🤷🏻♀️
GET A SECOND OPINION GIRL.
I highly doubt a second opinion will change anything. Everything she described sounds like the gyno was right on the money.
@@JebusChrustDoc spoke in a lot of certainties without running labs to check for those things. Just said it like it's there. Okay, but if you suspect something, you run tests to see if your suspicion is true or not. That's just how medicine works.
I hope QT gets a second opinion or goes to a new gyno in general cause it felt like that doctor was super inconsiderate dropping all that info at once
Well, a good doctor is one that helps heal the patient. I would prefer a rude amazing doctor to a nice good doctor any day
@@DemosApollotheres this third option called kind amazing doctor.
If the gynecologist that QT visited isn't HER gynecologist and this was just like a first visit, the doctor could *potentially* have just dumped everything because they may not have been sure that the patient (QT) would have returned. And it's not like they would have known what kind of patient QT was. Some people, even when told they should return for a crucial second visit, for whatever reason, they don't. Better to get all of the news out of the way than wait for a visit that may or may not happen.
@@DemosApolloDo you like being called stupid? Not to mention if you did the same you’ll be the one getting banned
Jesus, can the dudes please let her talk!!
QT I hear you, I have endometriosis and had a second laparoscopy a couple weeks ago and waking up from anesthesia does really suck. I always feel extremely sad when I wake up and can't stop crying for like the rest of the day
it’s taken me foreverrr to find a good gyno. i finally found one and a very good hormone doctors person! from what i know you can be diagnosed with pcos if you have two out of the three main symptoms and getting blood work and hormones checked is helpful for that to see if you have high insulin levels or high testosterone etc. taking insulin can cause you to make more testosterone which is one of the symptoms for having pcos. sooo taking insulin = more testosterone and more testosterone (as well as those other symptoms) isn’t the best for pcos. however i’m simply just a girl so idk (i do have pcos tho and am currently going through it lol)
I'm over here, like knock me out, get shit done and I'll wake up when its done with a better life. Anime my life.
Coming from a man, I really hope QT is okay even thought they made light of everything 😢
When I had a general anaesthetic for wisdom teeth removal (I wrote a will before going under) I felt like Id had the best nights sleep of my life and I was only out for 45mins.
I hate going to the gyno, I've been avoiding it for 9+ years, the whole experience is so unpleasant and embarrassing.
9 years? Damn. An uncomfortable experience is worth it to know of potential life altering diseases. Im not here to change your mind but I hope you do SOMETHING to get a check up.
i hate the gyno as well but pls go get checked!! you will never regret checked in case they catch something early.
Here its mandory to do it once a year. You want to do it. Its just some minutes. You can do it!
not going to the gyno just means when you inevitably have to go it'll be worse. Why not go now when things are simpler and easier, it doesn't have to get to that point.
What an unconfortable experience. BTW the pill probably was metformin, not insulin
Hassan seemed to be so awkward during the gyno talk LOL 😅
He's so polite lol
QT putting the Fear into Fear&
Fear of anesthesia is wild, I would be TERRIFIED to go through any procedure without being under
This should be shown in sex ed classes, dudes really need to learn this ish.
No there are much better resources out there than this discussion.
Why don’t hasan and will try to have kids, why does QT get this pressure? (We all know why)
I'm having horrible stabbing pain in my left ovary but the ultrasound didn't show anything. I have all the symptoms of endometriosis but the only way to diagnose that is through a laparoscopic surgery where they put a camera in your abdomen to look around. My surgery is scheduled for January 16. I also hate anesthesia and don't come out of it well but this is the necessary next step. I have been suffering for over a decade and I just want answers. Throughout all of this I've found out that my chronic back and hip pain which I thought was sciatica could actually all be because of endometriosis. It's so important to find good doctors who believe you and take your pain seriously, it's taken me over 14 years to get here, I'm so happy I finally have doctors taking my pain seriously. I'm hoping this diagnosis will be my ticket to a full hysterectomy cuz like QT I have tokophobia and am terrified of pregnancy and child birth. I will foster and adopt thank you.
My sister has PCOS but she was still able to conceive with IVF on the first attempt so even with how overwhelming things sound there are always options. Hope everything works out for Qt
It's always interesting to see how little Austin knows about women
3:40 I love imagining her saying this. 😂
I have had to watch my very small child undergo general anesthesia more times than I can count. I don’t blame QT for not wanting to go under. That stuff is scary.
Pap smear are incredibly painful. INCREDIBLY. Qt is lucky it doesn't hurt for her
Real. As someone who also has vaginismus, Pap smears are hell.
Will was kinda weirding me out with his comments. I don't watch the podcast much so maybe that's a normal dynamic for them but it grossed me out that his first reaction to QT taking about her health problems was to make sex jokes
yeah, this one felt weird
I think the podcast is supposed to be light hearted and funny so he probably didn't mean it very seriously. QT may have been looking for some comic relief from the not so serious boys. she has lovely female friends to get deep with who understand better.
Dude...... I'm pretty sure they discussed with her off camera to see if she would be OK with it. I highly doubt the boys would ever do something intentional to make her feel uncomfortable.
@@cheaboiMWA I don't think it was intentional but it also didn't seem like they knew what she was going to say before she said it. I also don't think they run potential jokes by each other before they say them, that'd be a lot to do before every podcast. QT also seemed to think the "Ludwig should nut in you" comment right after she told them she had very few eggs was icky. I don't think he's a monster but whether or not it made her uncomfortable it definitely made me uncomfortable to hear
@@fayelizzyy That's definitely possible and a good point, but I think he could have made jokes without being so sexual with it to the point where it was uncomfortable even as a viewer. Again, maybe she's fine with it, it was odd though
Anesthesia sounds like a seizure where when you wake up all of your emotions happen at once.
As a person who has seizures, not really been my experience. The memory lapse with a seizure is much more terrifying. Usually because, for me, it's not really expected. I've also never woke up in the same place as I last recalled being. With anesthesia, I knew what was happening. I knew I would be in PACU after. I knew my memory would be weird for a while. With a seizure I had no idea how long that would last. I was in and out of memory for days with a seizure. So they are similar on the surface, but not so much in my experience.
They scrape the cervix with a WIRE brush in the US? Are you kidding me?? Maybe it feels like that but in austria they use a big q-tip
Also fun fact: in austria u dont wear a hospital gown for the checkup, just naked from waist down and onto the chair u go 😄
I like it thos way, it would make it a much bigger thing if u had to change imo.
No it just feels like it. One time they had this plastic paddle thing they used and I didn't appreciate that. But I've also just had the q-tip swab. In all cases my doc showed me and prepared me for things.

That's just his personality lol

if there was some kind of male equivalant to the things shes describing i genuinly dont think i could do it
Maybe colonoscopy? Although, that is in 45+ age bracket for men and women to do.
Colonoscopy prostate exam maybe? Nothing else I can think of
….prostate exams?
Y'all 😂 please! 😂 There is no equivalent. Not even close.
I'm in the small camp of people who don't react well to anesthesia. My lung collapsed and when it comes out of my body it's so ridiculously painful. There's got to be a better way to figure out if anesthesia is gonna fuck you up
the majority of the questions presented by the guys here were so distasteful. even to frame it as a joke, saying the obvious solution PCOS is to let your partner nut in you is so gross. as if PCOS doesn't lead to incredible medical ailments, such as cancers down the line. I understand they're ill informed on the subject, but there was no care or consideration for their friend who has to suffer with these ailments. Truly a hard watch. L 👎
Since they’re actually friends they probably have a better idea then you about what lines to cross and not cross, and how to deal with a story like this

@@DVK111 I appreciate your honesty. I don't have an issue with them talking to each other and making a joke of it- however, this is CONTENT. for viewers like me and you. It's ok if you found it entertaining! I, as someone who has had to deal with health negligence for YEARS, still lack a concrete answer on why I don't bleed and that is scary. I was told I am at risk of developing cancer because of this PCOS related issue. The woman's health field is archaic and it's hard not to worry when you're told about these ailments. As a viewer with these concerns, it was really disheartening to hear my favorite creators laugh about it and brush it off with "the answer is to let your bf cuum inside you" I get it's a joke and people find it funny- that's okay. It is just me who is affected. I don't think that means I'm invalid in sharing that perspective.

Propofol ROCKS, the people dying on it are abusing it, you can't abuse it in a clinical setting.
Your friend tells you she might not be able to get pregnant and you make a stupid joke about her boyfriend coming in her? Wtf 🤢
That's not exactly what happened. His joke came from the thought process that if she is at risk of losing all her eggs, she should just get pregnant now before she loses more.

Couldn't they do local anesthesia?
I'm terrofied of anestesia. It's totally different than sleep. It's like coma. I hope I never have to do it.
As someone who has gone through surgery, it is not bad at all. To me it didn't feel different from sleep, if you compare to times when you couldn't remember dreaming anything (since as far as I know you can't dream under anesthesia. I definitely didn't). You just feel a bit "funny" in the head for a second and next thing you know you're awake again (my throat hurt tho and I was really thirsty when I woke up).
Respectfully this gyno sounds like she sucks and i would get a second opinion. Plus there are ways to mitigate the symptoms of pcos without medication, to so quickly tell you you need meds for the rest of your life with no other testing than an ultrasound is a red flag. there are a lot of pcos communities online of people sharing tips. I wish you the best health and healing!
shes expressing her trauma and the guys making jokes. i dont think they were the right support group

It is really really shockingly difficult to get a hysterectomy if you haven’t had children and are under the age of 50 in the United States.
Hysterectomies have risks of cancer
Except where she says she's terrified of anesthesia. It's hard enough to find an OBGYN to agree to a hysterectomy when you don't have kids, but doing one under an epidural not during a C-section? That might be a really hard ask.
