@@ImGerry Well, that is the difference between watching a video to make a point or a video to just catch your attention. Your comment is so disappointing, I always choose to watch a whole video because I want to be fair on my criticism. The fact he watches the whole video to have an outcome that means he is a good viewer.
I just got the X100V and I agree I do not like the video portion. Shocked me that it had a time limit of 10 minutes at 4k 30. Did alright if I didn't pan or move. So I also have the Ricoh GR3 & GR3X and the 28mm & 40mm is a nice contrast. The video portions on these cameras are only 1080P and are lousy. So why do I have these Point & Shoot Cameras? Small & Portable which can fit in a pocket. Takes great photos and can crop at different focal lengths. Battery Life, Not So Good. That's why I carry extra batteries. These cameras Price bought together is still cheaper than 1 leica Q3 which I also have. Not Pocketable though. Cheers!
I am more looking toward not waiting and just getting the Nikon zf as a nostaligic one i dont have to wait on. I also have a sony 7rv, but the nikon seems to be a fuji on steroids.

I love how you folk just keep nit picking these cameras reality you missed the whole concept of using a masterpeice in a minimalist way creation with limitation, challenge yourself to take better photos and videos than your Sony because it not about blowing out the park its about how good you create.

I think this hype is good for photography and its industry. When people like to take and make photos with real cameras intead of dump smartphones, I can applaud to Fujifilm.
Was thinking the same thing today it’s good for the camera industry. Maybe kids aren’t upgrading their mobiles so much but getting cameras instead?
Didn't know phones came with fake cameras and took fake photos. They have fooled so many people.
They already updated the lens. The lens was updated on the x100v (it used to be alot worse). What needed to change was the battery. Still annoying have to carry an extra battery for everyday usage.
I’ve never killed a battery in a day. What are you doing bro? 😅 but just take a USB-C power bank. Easy.
So you’d rather have a much larger camera (to accommodate the X-T5 etc. battery) instead of just buying an extra battery to keep the camera compact?

I am also hanging onto my x100v. I love it and use it every day but the new upgrades aren’t anything I need. I’m more interested in maybe a faster lens on a newer model down the road.

I found a second hand X100V at 1250€ with still 1 year warranty. I think I'll just cancel my X100VI pre-order :)
I absolutely love this video! I have an X100VI on back order (because I caved to the marketing I’m ashamed to say) and in the meantime I’m using my X100V. I’m considering canceling my order for the X100VI because as great a camera as it is, it seems to have become more of a hybrid stills/video camera, and I like the X100V because it is more of the digital version of the rangefinder film camera experience, which is why I like it. If I want IBIS and 40+ megapixels, I’ll use my X-T5. None of my Fujica rangefinders had IBIS or any of the modern aids, and I appreciate that my X100V is a digital version of these amazing cameras. We’ll see what happens. Thanks for a very thoughtful video.
I'll stick with my Leica Q2! The aperture ring was the deal breaker with this series of cameras. I've shot Fuji for years and the X100T was my first. The aperture ring is too close to the body for me. I'm lucky enough to be in a time in my life where my passion for photography is more important than my ability to make money with it. The Q2 will be my fixed lens camera of choice for many years to come. The hype is crazy. Happy for Fujifilm and the camera industry as a whole.
I would love to know what you would recommend as a hybrid camera, compact enough to take great photos with, but also video for reels and social use? I have the big cameras Sony fx3, a7siii etc. that I typically use for studio or at home work, but I want something small enough for an everyday carry that I can shoot vlogs or content for social and possibly YT use as well. That is also great for photos and travel. I was considering the x100vi, but if you think the x100v is good enough for that type of content I would rather spend less and find it faster or another camera you may recommend for that type of content, I would love your opinion? Thank you!

I preordered it at BH and I cancelled it and bought a used Sony a7r IV with 1k shutter count for $2K. If you compare both cameras it's not even close. Fuji is overhyped and not worth the money
All the sheep who bought into the hype of buying an overpriced x100v trying to justify not upgrading. I mean, why would you upgrade… you already got scammed the first time and fell for it.
Why the hate on the video features?? It's been a hybrid since they added video features on the previous models. Are they supposed to just limit the video specs to the mark 5? It almost sounds like sour grapes when I see (non owners) of the mark 6 complaining about new video capabilities.
40mp is so nice on this x100 with the new lens from the V. Reala Ace is so good. IBIS for handheld video clips is really good to stop the camera shake. FLog2 4:2:2 10bit makes for easy grading. Something about the way the x100 23f2 lens renders on this sensor look so good compared to my 100v. I’m all in. Wish it had a better battery.
2024 quality lens? The lens was updated with V and resolves the new sensor fine. Interchangeable systems don’t get new lenses with each iteration

I got to try one the other day & compared it to the previous model. It’s good but doesn’t warrant replacing the previous one.

I got stuck in the hype and couldn’t find a 100v when I was looking for a daily carry, got impatient and bought an x-pro2, and it complements my x-t4 perfectly. For my needs it’s an exceptional camera, better then the x-pro3 and I’m glad I didnt wait for the 100v. It’s interesting to see how many people have bought the 100vi purely to try and make a quick buck by selling it on immediately - it’s just sad really!

Thank you right on the money with this. Such a relief from the ridiculous hype around the VI. I’m a `fuji shooter, I love them. I have a T and a V, love them BUT the hype around the VI is nauseating & sycophantic. For me IBIS is of no interest to me for my use case the only reason I can see it’s useful is because of the increased noise in low light of 40MP which you don’t get on the 26MP sensor. If I need that many pixels or even more I’d go full frame or medium format as 26MP seems to be a sweet spot for CSC’s.
Video specs who is REALLY going to shoot video with this type of camera.

I'm interested in the X100VI because all of the X100V's i see are $1700-$2000 for decent condition and i just don't see that camera being worth that price.. especially now that the VI is out. I think people are trying to get money back that they overspent on the camera originally..
Just dont be the one to fix those dumb decisions for them brother.
Why not the X-T5 essentially the same camera but now you can use the lenses that you want

You made a great point. I don't think the VI is necessary for anyone with a V. I have been shooting on Sony for 8 years and I think it would be a great change for me since I don't leave the house with the A7 sometimes due to the size.
This is the exact reason I hope to eventually get my hands on the X100VI. I have an FX3 for video and an A7IV as a B cam and for photography, but I'd love an EDC camera that I can travel with and take along for times when I don't want my larger and heavier gear. I got to the pre order process way late though, so who knows, that may stay a pipe dream at this point.

I think it makes sense if you have a x100v to think if you want to buy the VI. If you wanted a V but couldn't get one, then it makes more sense to get the VI.

I'm also keeping my X100v. I took it with me last month to Lisbon and really enjoyed using it there. No point in getting rid of something I really like.
I still prefer my X100V because it has just the right amount of megapixels for what it does best (daily carry camera). And the upgrades in the VI, in my opinion, are half-baked. It's as if Fujifilm is deliberately leaving space to launch a perfect camera in future versions.
This is a good therapy video for those who own a X100V and can't get a X100VI anytime soon. I personally concur with most of the points made. I own a X100S and now X100VI. If I had a X100V I would not upgrade to the X100VI; the V already captures all the fun of owning a 23mm fixed lens camera that is just small enough to be more portable. On the other hand, if I wasn't able to get a X100VI, I would not be buying a X100V instead --- I love IBIS and do own a X-Pro2 and X-H2 already. So the X100VI is really just a noustalga trip to me to the X100S which was my gateway drug for leaving Canon DSLRs.
I won't buy the X100VI cuz I own the X-T5 with same specs and more lenses. But I'll think about the X-E5 or X-Pro4 if specs are different, or think about the new Ricoh GR!
I sold a few of my lenses and brought the VI, if I had the v I would not bother upgrading yet so I agree with you but for me its nice to have a compact camera that I can carry around everywhere with me. I think you have made the right decision, wait for the next upgrade from the vi.

Yeah, 2020 lens…glass doesn’t get updated as often as cameras. Fuji roadmap spans years. You think they didn’t plan for higher sensors back in 2020?

Fuji is known to put the same sensor and tech in every generation of their cameras, X100vi has 95% of the features of their flagship APSC camera
Tl;dr, the upgraded features are not necessary, it is heavier and the lens hasn't been updated. Continue on your day everyone.
Honestly with the bumper up video specs you can shoot beautiful photos and videos to create postcards in Instagram because everything is stabilized. But i bought the XT4 I need more battery life
It was a toss up for me between the V and the VI. I think the 40MP sensor is a step forward and backwards at the same time. Usually 26MP should be more than enough, but there will be that few time I actually wanna crop. Also IBIS is a nice addition and better AF is always welcome. That combined with the V only being available used brought me to pre-order a VI. Which will be arriving in a few weeks, with some luck, since I didn't order the exact minute pre-orders went live... The hype is kinda bonkers, not gonna lie.
I chose to skip it too. Love the x100v still and I don't want more megapixels. The ONLY thing I care about is the few new film simulations. But all the other upgrades mean nothing to me for what I use it for

I'm also not upgrading. My X100-F (2 versions old now) is still a great camera, and I bought it used at an exceptionaly good price 6 months ago. It's pretty new to me, and I'm still learning how to use it. I actually love it. So paying that much more to upgrade an already excellent camera seems quite expensive for the incremental changes.
That said I look forward to the VI being available on the used market when the VII comes out😂

What do you recommend for a good first timer point and shoot? Cuz I'm betting the 100VI is going to be a lot of people first "real" camera, I myself almost got swept up in the hype but slept on it and realized I kinda have a very good camera in my pocket regard less.

I hope Luna is ok! I’m glad you took the stool to the vet. Ask about getting Luna an x-ray too. Our cat had runny poops as well. We did the probiotics and antibacterials. It turned out our cat either had IBS or internal bleeding and she passed away from it soon after we figured out something was really wrong.

The thing is that the X100V sells for about the price of the X100IV so it’s a free or very cheap upgrade. Subject to where you live and the local supply of course. But it was for me.

Are Leica M film cameras full frame? I’m confused as they don’t have a sensor. How does it compare to X100VI ? Which has more full frame?

I cancelled my pre-order for an X100VI. I decided I had been carried away by the hype and might be too old to take images when it finally arrived . After watching numerous RUclips previews I decided that I wasn't taken in by all the excitement. I don't or rarely shoot video. I do street photography. Right now my street/travel camera is an older Canon EOS M5. Yes, Fuji has more resolution, faster autofocus, film simulations, better image stabilization etc. But, the Canon has interchangeable lenses. I have the 22mm prime lens so I can shoot that focal length if I want to. If I don't want to, I have a selection of other lenses. A final point, at 40MP the Fuji sensor has more resolution than the Canon. However, the Fuji's internal 50 and 70mm crop reduces that to as little as 10MP. With the Canon lenses I get the 24MP resolution no matter what focal length I choose.
