People commenting complaining about people complaining about people who complain that "they were born in the wrong generation" are getting annoying so I'm complaining.
Y'know that feeling when a song makes you feel so good, it just gives you chills and then makes your blood boil and gives you a warm feeling inside? That's the feeling I get when I listen to this song. The vocals, the lyrics, the music, the power it makes you feel. This song just makes me feel so good. Whenever I'm down, I play this and I feel so much better about myself afterwards. It's just so powerful. You just want to shout the lyrics out and scream at the top of your lungs. Hopefully people know what I am talking about. So fucking motivational and powerful and inspirational!
I'm 17 and I was born in the perfect generation, all the music that people used to pay out the ass to listen to is now completely free, and I can even listen to it while playing my ps3 or any pc game and can customize the audio to amplify any aspect of any song I so choose, gotta love this generation :)
I'm 16 I'm not saying I was born in the wrong time but man I wish I would've been able to see these guys live and in their prime. I'm sure it was amazing
People say they were born in the wrong generation, but if I was alive when this came out I wouldn't be able to watch RUclips or play games such as GTA V or Fallout 4. Though im glad I'm given a chance to listen to these songs.
It is weird, the only band who make me headbang by accident is pantera. This is the lightest song ever but I cannot help but headbang, the amount if emotions the guitar and Steven Tyler's voice can bring is incredible!
So first, there were too many comments on kids and teens saying how this is so much better than today's music but then there were too many comments saying how that is annoying. Now, this is a comment saying how annoying they both are... it's just an endless cycle.
I made a jack-ass of myself due to a misunderstanding. So yeah; I agree that these comments on social media are sometimes an endless cycle of being annoying & obnoxious.
"I was born in the wrong generation" Apparently not because now you have access to all of this music you wish you grew up with, and easier than any other generation. I really don't like that whole "Born in the wrong . . . " stuff. Good on you for subverting that.
we sang this today infront of 7 other schools today in my choir and i had a solo in the beginning part and i got a standing ovation and everyone loved it.
Steve wrote this before fame. There's this one photo of him at a Rolling stones concert a few years before fame. I can imagine him looking on stage thinking, I wish that was me. It's crazy how his dream did come true.
my brother moved to Texas from Virginia when he graduated. I was in middle school. he left this in vinyl for me as something to remember him by. I listened to this album over and over. thankfully he moved home when he finished trade school. still love this song. ❤✌
my favourite areosmith song and the first single of theirs, so emotional so moving, i cry everytime i hear it, cause of how far i have come in my life, i just never gave up. i really believe in my heart i will get my dream, everyone please go for your dream, don't look back on what could of been, go for it i believe in all of you.
John Fereld that is a song by areosmith sweet emotion. no not really. all it does is make me see my past. and shows how far i have came, kind of a different emotion for me than you.
I asked them to play this at a school dance and because they are ignorant and refused to listen to the whole song, they thought it was too slow and replaced it with"Baby" by Justin Bieber, so we plugged in some speakers to a phone hidden in the bleachers and blared this song over everything else. I got suspended, but it was worth it.
1975 me and my brother would turn this up , open the 2nd floor window and play it as loud as we could so our neighbors could hear it. Middle America seemed so lonesome back then, small towns, snow, grey winters. Lots of teenage masturbation was the only thing that saved me from suicide. I took Steven's lyrics seriously, dreaming on and on desperate to exit the mundane . Thank god i escaped the simple life deep in the hills
try to stay with me here step 1: kids says "im 8-15 and i love this music. that gets annoying step 2:people get annnoyed and begin to complain and kids saying that stupid shit b/c their just trying to be "cool" or "classy" step 3: people actually complain about people complaining about the kids saying they like this kind of music. at this point most of these kids arent even making these comments anymore. im looking at you iheartmagikarp and gawee step 4: this is where it gets stupid, people are now complaining about people complaining about people complaining about kids saying they like this music so should i complain about complaining about complaining about complaining about this?
Morgalucci what do you mean, "who came for better parts"? So you think there are people who just come and listen to one part of the song? Because that is really stupid as well,. That's like saying instead of watching movies, you skip the whole thing and just watch the climax at the end.
+Andrew Ricklefs No, it isn't, it is more like skipping a talking scene (which may be brilliant) to get to the action because they are in a rush. A lot of people want to go to the familiar parts of the song rather than a long introduction.
Don't want to sound like a jerk, but honestly, no one cares if you're 10 years old and like this music. Why should it even matter? Music is music, and if you like it, then that's good for you.
Most of the comment section is preteens seeking approval for liking this song. But notice the video that's happening on is the one with 12 million views. Most of these "born in the wrong generation" kids probably couldn't name any Pink Floyd or Velvet Underground songs, shit probably not many more Aerosmith songs. I guess it doesn't matter. At least they're listening to this and not Nicki Minaj so to that, I applaud.
Though there ARE those kids who's music tastes were shaped by their parents, whom do know about and listen to Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, and Aerosmith regularly.
Brendan Collins Of course, I don't doubt it. It just bugs me how they brag about it on the internet like everyone needs to know about it and think they're great. That might just be me being a grumpy old man.
I'm one of those that were born in the wrong generation, and I'll admit, yeah. I don't know those artists. But I listen to music from pretty much every generation but mine. Johnny Cash, some Beatles, heck I even listen to some classical stuff like Hall of the Mountain King every once in a while.
Electric Blitz I'm 15, I'm not claiming to be born in the wrong generation just because I listen to old music. I love the music from this generation. Strokes, Kendrick Lamar, Shins, White Stripes, Daft Punk, Eminem, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse. I think the people who claim that this generation sucks don't listen to enough music. You weren't born in the wrong generation, sorry.
***** Never heard of most of those people. I've heard some Eminem, and ironically enough I'm listening to Daft Punk's Robot Rock. But aside from a few songs, none of the artists you listed off are any good. And if the music I like listening to was in the past, then yes, I was born in the wrong generation.
the keyboard chords from 1:08-1:13 are intricate and are only played like that once in this song. My wife's favorite band. She met STyler backstage in the 90s. Gargantuan all-time great rock song. Timeless lyrics. Capo on third fret d minor to start it off. Much easier on keyboard F minor.
I love this song this was the right generation of music. 🎵 🎶 🎧 =dream on I wasn’t born then but every time I play this song for my dad he and I love it 😍
That's funny as frak dawg.. and an eye opener. I always thought he wanted to do hip hop. He was always handing out his mix tapes every Tuesday afternoon after feeding time.
Dream on.... Be careful what you wish for. I listened to the "record" back in the day it gives me perspective when I listen now. It brings back many memories and also let's me know that things are close to coming full circle in my life.
Tagger Tag shut the fuck up maybe they got sad bc it reminded them of someone in there family died. I know how it feels because I had to deal with my father dying yesterday
+L Martinson 75% of this comment thread is complaining about how people are complaining about people complaining about people complaining about their generation. We. Must. Go. Deeper.
OutlawRebel117 You have spoken the truth. Some artists nowadays run out of originality and decide to sample/remake a song (which then turns out to be crappy). The sad thing is, some of today's artists are given all of the glory for a song that was composed a "long" time ago by a way better artist (yes, a way better artist).
Jacob's right. Even though I'm not a fan of Eminem or the entire rap genre, Eminem is great at what he does, just like how Aerosmith is great at what they do. But, if we were going to talk about POPULAR music from then versus POPULAR music now, I'd say that Aerosmith, the Stones, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and all the others have got the modern artists beat
Thunderbolt22A10 First time I heard this song was because some guys were arguing on facebook after 11 years from the release of Eminem's "Sing for the moment"that it was a cover of "Dream On".
Aerosmith's music has lived on more so than alot of other bands from 40 years ago.. It has held up VERY well! Heck, 72M views on youtube speaks for itself, alot of older stuff isnt as well known as this today, that speaks volumes!
People commenting complaining about people complaining about people who complain that "they were born in the wrong generation" are getting annoying so I'm complaining.
Jam Steps gooby pls
Jam Steps ranodl pls
What's the point of your comment? Bo McQuiston
i hate complaining so i complain + i hate irony

I'm 17 and I was born in the perfect generation, all the music that people used to pay out the ass to listen to is now completely free, and I can even listen to it while playing my ps3 or any pc game and can customize the audio to amplify any aspect of any song I so choose, gotta love this generation :)

People say they were born in the wrong generation, but if I was alive when this came out I wouldn't be able to watch RUclips or play games such as GTA V or Fallout 4. Though im glad I'm given a chance to listen to these songs.
Jason Floyd yea I wouldn't able to use condoms
Are you related to Pink?
I was alive when this came out and obviously, I'm able to watch You tube :))))) Not totally senile yet :D
Jason Floyd I'm glad I was born after my parent's generation. I've been able to listen to the song since my birth.
Jason Floyd i agree
Not even a huge aerosmith fan but this is one of the greatest songs of all time
You don't have to be patient in guitar opening, you have to enjoy it.
You don't necessarily have to do anything. Do whatever you want lol

This is not a song it is a work of art that will go down in the pages of history as one of the best works of art ever made
Who cares about your age we just all love the song that Aerosmith has produced for us
Nicholas Frost i
It's not that this generation's music sucks. It's you that sucks at finding good modern day artists.
+Sam Henri there is a relatively new band called the heartless bastards that is great rock and roll, you should check them out.
***** there are realy no ggod rappers around today
Well, there is Trivium. Amazing metal band, you should try it out someday.

are you implying that old music is inferior to new music
He just hasn't been exposed to enough old-fashioned goodness
I get chills hearing this song everytime. Great message.

Arden Unger You don't have to necessarily be born in a certain generation. I jam to all these classics and I was born on the turn of the century.

Because nothing is so great like 70's music.
Aerosmith is waaaaaaay better than Eminem. True fact, guys.
OutlawRebel117 Yeah. Thanks for pointing that out.
They're both legends in their own genre. You can't compare them. Eminem is still original, just not with the song he sampled this in.
Jack Tilis Indeed.

Aerosmith's music has lived on more so than alot of other bands from 40 years ago.. It has held up VERY well! Heck, 72M views on youtube speaks for itself, alot of older stuff isnt as well known as this today, that speaks volumes!
