Good stuff. I went on a trail hike today. I have been on this same trail dozens of times, even during some muddy times. But today I was sliding my butt all over the place. I was either tread-milling trying to go uphill or mud-skiing on the way down. My trail shoes have decent tread on the bottom… But I think perhaps more will be better. Anyway, thanks for the video.

I watched your video because I wanted to get an extra technical tip on how to run in mud, which I didn't get as this video should be titled: WHats the best shoes for mud, and not how to run in, because you mention nothing about how to run in. The choice is actually ridiculously obvious: chose trail running shoes. The only useful thing was to see what happens if you use spikes. The only problem with them is the whole time you should be running on trails and no rocks. So you either travel there on a vehicle or running there in a different pair of shoes and changing the shoes there. How to run in a mud should be about your stride technique your body posture. What I found yesterday was, running in mud is similar to running on ice: your stride should be short and quick, but you need to keep your eyes on the next step, planning where you going. I have the luck to have a reservoir just a mile away from my doorstep which u can go around. My legs know its trail very well, so yesterday I went on a muddy run around it and exercised my technique. No falls😅. It definitely slowed me down though.

I’ve been using ASICS for road and Saucony Peregrine 10 for trail running.
Can’t praise the Saucony enough .
    Great video, thank you .

Noob question: The more slower we walk on muddy descents.. the more chances of us getting slipped (fall down)? On our local trail it is more muddy than this and we really find it hard to go down even with hoka speedgoat and salmon supercross.
