I’m genuinely happy for Dustin! From a fan since the UFC began, I believe he will be looked back on as one of the best examples of a mixed martial artist!
Dustin is one of the best of all time. Great fighter, great father, great role model, great member of the community. He’s been so consistent and so entertaining for the last 10 years.. the ufc won’t be the same when he decides to retire!
So much respect for The Diamond. Just the maturation over the years. From a young punk in a lot of ways to the grown man he’s turned into is both commendable and admirable. HOF, legend all that and with class. Respect 👊🏼
I remember being in college and rooting for Dustin against Khabib. Watching him bounce back and prove his greatness again and again has been incredibly inspiring to me. Also, Justin vs MJ was the first MMA fight I ever watched. I love both these guys, this weekend is bound to be spectacular
Very well said, newer fans won’t get it, but Dustin has really earned everything he has in this game and he’s matured from a knucklehead to a respectable family man. It’s good too see a comeback story.
@Thatthar899 honestly though Poirier is not a bully and he’s proven himself as one of the best time and time again. It’s surprising to me that anyone would dispute that
Congrats too Dustin. I’m a little concerned how nonchalant he is about the altitude. Leon slept in an elevation tent his whole camp (not just the last 2 weeks) and you saw how he looked against usman up until the head kick. Justin trains above the altitude in Salt Lake City so I hope Dustin is ready.
Dustin trains in high humidity states all year. High humidity also affects your breathing and heart rate. Are altitude and humidity the same, of course not. But they affect you in the same manner.
The level of akward weirdo behavior from the MMA media is bizarre. A normal room of humans would have given Dustin an appreciative yet controlled round of applause when he received his pin. Nope...just silence and onto Morgan's first question. Congrats Dustin 👏
Around the 13 minute Mark a reporter asked Dustin has he always enjoy these kind of wars or is this something he developed I'm going to answer that for him. Because he either doesn't know or will not be honest about this but here is the truth. He gave up in that first Eddie fight. He wasn't hurt he just wanted out. And afterwards he hated himself for taking the way out and he told himself that will never happen again. And to his credit he was right. Since then he has made that dark place his home and he does not run from it like most people do the first time they go there. True savage.
Let’s go DP. Fan of both Dustin an Justin but been watching DP since WEC days. He only lost by champs. He will be the next champ after this! Let’s go for the best fight this year! 💎
Justin has no rematches because no one wants to fight him again. Mad respect to Poirier for fighting him again. They are both better from the first fight.
@@pedrocolo25 I think with Habib it's also about the timing, his father had just died and his mother might have needed his help or presence around her or the family in general, just my opinion
I love both these guys so much, and it was really hard for me to pick who'd I like to see win, but after thinking about it I'm really pulling for Dustin. He deserves another title shot
Amazing. When youre fighting ppl and you know for a fact they are across the cage, juiced up on roids, and youre all natural blasting through everyone. The guy who took all the steroids.. and loses to a natural guy is another level of defeat.
I was a Conner Fan then Paddy Plemlett, now Dustin is so good, he has good character, a lot of class, no doubt this guy and Nate are tough guys and now Sean O'Malley, all 3 are beast.
This guy is such a great role model. He does not need to talk trash, attavk his opponents family, religion, wife , etc to put eyeballs on his sport. He just brings it every single time . Both dustin & justine are “ barbarians” and i mean that in the most respecful way. They both think that the best way to put out a fire is to swallow it ! Good luck to both men . Thank you for giving us this fight !
I want dustin to get the lightweight title he deserves it , and thats crazy how big and powerful amanda nunes was and she was the leading fighter for clean tests crazy
I feel like Poirier vs Gaethje will be a much more technical fight than the first one, but I believe Poirier's still gonna get the win in the end either by decision or TKO late in the fight
They might’ve applauded but the mics get shut off in transition. Only Jeff’s microphone was on and you can tell because Dustin’s thank you was lower. They might’ve only turned on the mic near Dustin when he started talking
Should get a bonus for being clean. Or at least a pay increase for every "x amount" of cleans tests. The minute they "pop," that pay increase goes away.
He needs a really solid partnership to get that in stores. I’ve heard good things but I’m not paying $30 for a bottle. Plus I heard it’s not that hot and I want my sinuses to bleed
Poirier: "It is a Legacy Fight". Hey, why not? These guys are both such legends. No matter what happens, they will always be. But sure, if you want to call this a legacy fight, I'm all in. These guys come to fight. Every time.
I’m genuinely happy for Dustin! From a fan since the UFC began, I believe he will be looked back on as one of the best examples of a mixed martial artist!
Hard to argue that point
Gaethje too though. Win or lose for either they are solidified as two of the best ever
Very genuine human being and as a fighter, went against all the top competition. Never had easy opponents.
💯
Dustin literally fkn fought everyone lol.. first time I seen him fight was vs Cub Swanson and it was a badass fight.. been a fan ever since.

You can tell it’s a character though
When dustin pulls his short pants up a couple times and spits on the canvas its over for Justin. Only the real know what im talking about
He's a real down-to-earth guy and well rounded a great role model imo.

Both guys are warriors, but we're riding with Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier. Best boxer in the UFC! Dustin is now at Boss level!
Dustin will always be my favorite fighter. It’s got a heart of gold, but can turn vicious in a heartbeat.
Dustin always sets a great example - good father, husband, teammate etc - a stud no doubt about it!

Justin isn’t a wrestler. They going to strike and pace themselves.
