I realize that from a business standpoint the Unreal engine team want to market THEIR product.However when comes to games we are adding more gpu lag cpu lag but not realy making games better.A few spotty visuals does not make a better game it's just making a texture look better.
Realistic environments"is often an inaccurate statement we need to interact with everything in the world and not just a visual.If I could keep pushing a statement it is that we want to play exciting games not just look at stuff.
The ability to make games better has already been there for 10-15 years but devs are not putting in the work or creativity to make games better so all we ever get is marketing.
Games nowadays have become more flashy and cinematic than entertaining
Unreal 5 actually runs better and less demanding than other engines from what I`ve heard.
The environments just look dead to me. I can always tell it is Unreal. Dead scenes is their hallmark. I rather play cartoons that are full of life. Once I get used to graphics I don't think about it. But when things don't move when they should I lose interest.
The hardware & software journey from the 1980's ZX80/81/Spectrum/CBM64/etc to today's hardware has been pretty astounding. Unfortunately, as games companies merge into large entities, owners don't want to take any risk on their next (expensive) projects...so we have stagnation...cookie-cut releases where the latest iterations of the popular game engines promise "better graphics". This, in turn, becomes the primary selling point of these new games.
In focusing on game engine improvements to eye candy and producing only cookie cut games, innovation naturally takes a hit. Going back to those early 1980/90's and you'll see the birth of most of today's game innovation. Real innovation won't happen again till mass market/affordable pricing (hardware and games) is reached for games/experiences delivering ultra high res, full-frame ray tracing + full-frame, high refresh rate VR (edge-edge sharpness, no 'sweet spot') becomes the norm. That's asking a lot. Until then, enjoy the pretty cookies.
@@ChrisM541 the next evolution with be with AI. What they do with the characters will be more interesting than graphics.

Black Myth Wukong is looking pretty good, that little bit of gameplay was alright. Hoping they come out with more gameplay previews. OD looks good, hope they come out with more gameplay and trailers.

Nice cinematics... No different than PS2 pre generated videos.
However, what makes a game good is it's gameplay and story.
The market has been flooded by pretty games for at least 15 years
then why not stick to PS2 games then? You know what's better than a game that has good game play and story? A "pretty" game has good gameplay and story :)
The Marvel game looks amazing, & I love the Witcher - can’t wait for all these to be released!

Guys can u make some suggestions to make our games popular are playable and fun to the player help me with key points like how to make our game fun and enjoyable
Pass. Is photo realistic. Photos are dead. I want a world full of life. Blades of grass and trees need to move with the wind. I'll compromise photo realism for good animation. Good examples are Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima.
It's an animation tool dude - people can make as much life and colour as they want, and UE5 makes it easy for e.g. trees and grass move in the wind. Pretty sure this video even showed at one point a slider manipulating weather conditions.
@@GatecrasherSlim they why do all the UE5 demo's I've seen are lifeless? Give me a title to a UE5 demo that is full of life.
@@GatecrasherSlim check this out. Digital Foundry recently did a review of Ghost of Tsushima graphics. Of course all they talk about are textures and detail. But that's not what I noticed. The scene is full of life. Check it out.

Ghost of Tsushima looks ok. Oversaturated colours, mega amounts of god rays and flora/fauna make it unique yeah, but the same artist could do that in UE5.
Plenty of colourful looking titles in this video. If you want the next Okami/Journey though, you may have to wait.
@@GatecrasherSlim blades of grass and trees move with the wind for example. Please point me to a UE5 demo that has that. As for colors, so long as they are consistent it doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me about Ghost of Tsushima is Jin doesn't know how to ride a horse. You are not supposed to be bouncing up and down like that.

Unreal engine 5 is just way to make more turn over reduce pay for dev, CDredproject next game gonna be less good, plus UR5 look dead/souless. It was a pleasur to have knew peak CDredproject.
