Sehr schön gespielt. Herzliche Gratulation.
IMO the greatest piece of organ music ever written, here played on an instrument that is a Dutch national treasure, by a man who is one of his country's elite musicians. Bravo!!
This is a much more interesting performance of this great work than others I've heard on the Westerkerk organ. It's a very Dutch approach, refined but powerful.
Very fine organ voices. Well played, indeed. A passionate performance, technically accurate. I also like the choice to have assistants changing registers according to the sheet. Very good. Very good. Mr.van der Kooy, I salute you as a great performer.
Splendid performance. IMHO one of the best recordings I ever heard in the Westerkerk. Besides, the almost "detachée" articulation has produced a transparent BWV 582, considering the tricky echoe that could otherwise have blurred the sound produced by this gorgeous organ.
According to F. Griepenkerl in a letter written when he was an old man: "Bach himself, his sons, and Forkel played the masterpieces with such a profound declamation that they sounded like polyphonic songs sung by individual great artist singers. Thereby, all means of good singing were brought into use. No Cercare, no portamento was missing. Even breathing was in all the right places. Bach's music wants to be sung with the maximum of art."
I forgot how I like this one... The best Bach's Passacaglia 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like Mr. Koopman's interpretation the most, but this will be my second one :D Beautiful registration!
Great recording, very nice acoustic, top-notch performance of my all-time favorite organ work. On a strictly aesthetic note, this is a weird organ. Clearly a "tracker" but I've not seen the coupler on the bottom manual before (it may not be all that rare; I've just never seen it), the pipework, with the exact architectural match to the nave and the gold trim & inlays, is a work of art in itself, but they cover it behind doors, and finally (this one I like) the "backwards" colored keys on the manuals. Again, all aesthetic anomalies - the organ sounds great and so is the performance.
Excellent....except he looses interest on the music in the last five seconds...a pity. Probably not satisfied with what he did which was really splendid indeed.....
I love Stamm's version too but my favourite SO FAR is that of Albrecht Koch on the wonderful Baroque instrument of Freiberg Cathedral, Germany. Also here on RUclips.

Eine der besten und schönsten Interpretationen. Tolle Registrierung!!
Love the calm, modest exposition of the theme. Now my favourite rendition of this awe-inspiring piece.
Magnificent performance of my favourite organ piece!
Acustica eccellente.
Esecuzione ineccepibile.
Bravoooooooooooo

The greatest piece of organ music - written for harpsichord.
@@xbqchm
What makes you think that? Sure, it's not impossible, but the evidence points to it being composed for the organ
@@Hwyadylaw At my funeral….
@@xbqchm Especially since the sources we have all indicate "pro organo pleno" Definitely harpsichord music...
Herrlich. Passt sehr gut zu diesem Stück.
Excellent performance overall but the fugue was virtually perfect. Well done!

I'd say it's a more Pennsylvania Dutch approach.

Chapeau!

An exquisite performance and wonderful video production of this sublime work. Many thanks to all those involved..
wonderful music, wonderful playing, wonderful instrument!!!
Bach live every day through his Music.
Excellent Jos, you're one of the best.
The best variations of all I heard.
Wonderful performance!
best version over all
Great performance, very good
Beautiful!
Ronduit klasse!
Realmente Bellísimo,gracias.

Much prefer this interpretation, letting the music sing and breathe rather than masking it with 'ornamentation'. this is glorious!
well done! great
Very nice....Thanks
Prachtig 👍
Thank you.
I can not findthe greatest "Soli Deus" I just am so thankful God gave him this gift so that we may have a piece written as it were just for us!!!
Bach liked this theme and decided to improvise on it or he was challenged to do so. Nice use of the Vox Celeste stop
Superb!
Excellent!

And paintings of Gerard de Lairesse
This is a standard baroque organ, nothing weird about it.
This was once the standard.
The doors are (only) one of the great glories of this instrument you wing-nut
Flat pedal board and reverse color keys is in the true Baroque style.
Ja, de 'geloofsbelijdenis' van elke organist.
Fugue begins at 8:30.
ontroerend
💕🍀
Kinderleicht, das spiele ich auf Drehorgel.
👌👍

Será Pistorius?
💙
Is he chewing gum?
Must admit I wondered that too!!
Bel orgue baroque
Very similar to Karl Richter's one, and not my favourite version... Hans Stamm's version is the best one to me...
