Juicy. Really gets the Gojira riffage, although if you ever Gojirafy another song it’d be great to try and include some of that distinctive Mario weirdness on the drums - he really sounds like nobody else!
Awesome, those super fast gallops on the main riff are SOO gojira Also, something you didn’t mention but is very gojira is the major diad at the end of the loop of the main riff

That pick scrape was used by Pantera, more specifically Dimebag, back on Far Beyond Driven. Check out Using My Third Arm from around 2:55 in. Great video though, as always 🔥
Not this time, I usually swap between my 6505MH and Archetype Nolly for most of my videos. This one I used the 6505MH into my Torpedo Live. Thanks for watching! :)
Pantera is my soundtrip back in college days. This version is more rhythm-riff oriented, can still hear the original vibe to it though. Indeed a new level
Brilliant!!! I love both bands. I started looking at your stuff after the Adele cover Hello with Leo Moracchioli you rocked it. Effortless. Keep up the great stuff!!
Man, truly amazing job, you have an amazing knowledge of Gojira weirdest. Only thing that bothered me a little bit is the drums (I'm a drummer and a Gojira fan), they are pretty good, but don't fit Mario Duplantier style that much, they miss the random weirdness. But other than that, everything was spot on.
Some other ideas for this: 1-What if Slayer sounded like Deftones?(Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss) 2-What if Nightwish sounded like Behemoth?(Nightwish - Dark Chest Of Wonders) 3-What if Iron Maiden sounded like KoRn?(Iron Maiden - The Trooper) 4-What if Trivium sounded like Meshuggah?(Trivium - In Waves) 5-What if Lamb Of God sounded like Megadeth?(Lamb Of God - Laid To Rest)
A possible replacement for the solo could be an octave tremolo ending, like in e.g. Dawn, In the Wilderness, Esoteric Surgery, Inward Movement etc etc. Anyway spot on for FMTS/TWOAF era.
Is it me,or the beginning is definitely similar to "The Heaviest Matter Of Universe" 🤔? Anyway, you have obviously created a cool progressive-groove metal song!
Thanks! I have to be honest, I was never massively into Gojira before doing this video but I’ve been listening to them a lot lately and I’m really liking them now :)
Dude, you’re a genius and creating songs by one artist to sound like another. You really know how to capture and replicate their sounds. Im a little jealous of your talent. Lol
What if Lamb of God sounded like Architects? I kinda just want to hear that blood of the scribe riff turned into an architects riff since it already sounds super modern despite being 20 years old at this point
You gotta include the Gojira scrape haha. There’s probably has a proper name for that technique but Gojira scrape just seems to fit the best. Thanks for watching! :)
It's actually uncanny how perfectly you transposed this into Gojira's style
Thanks! :)
Time to do if Gojira sounded like Pantera 🤘
Definitely! Toxic Garbage Island, Silvera, and Love come to mind.
@@behindthewolfseyes for me satan is a lawyer would work well
If I didn't know this was Pantera, I'd think it's a geniune Gojira song
Great job!
Thanks! :)
I genuinely had no idea what song he was playing because he made it sound so much like them
Can't wait for the video went viral and see how the Gojira guys react to this! Well done Pete! Great job!
Haha, I’d love that. Thanks for watching! :)
Sounds dope, man. I would love to hear someone do some Joe style vocals over this.
Challenge accepted. Any idea how i'd go about getting the stems or even a FLAC mixdown?
Thanks! :)

@@Nestorglass how'd you get the lossless audio it's not on Bandcamp or anythin
@@H4RM0N1C5 I didnt
last time I did this I just downloaded the audio from the YT video
It's just as simple as that sometimes ngl
This is genius! Pantera being my all time favorite Old skool metal band and Gojira being my favorite modern metal band I can dig this!
Being a massive fan of both bands gotta say I dig this! However the missing solo makes everything just a long (awesome) riff.
It makes me wonder if Gojira are the perfect band to use for learning to write solos haha
Yeah, if I’d have had a bit longer to experiment I think I would’ve attempted to Gojirafy the solo section too haha. Thanks for watching! :)
@@Necron00b the gift of guilt is very good for soloing
Juicy. Really gets the Gojira riffage, although if you ever Gojirafy another song it’d be great to try and include some of that distinctive Mario weirdness on the drums - he really sounds like nobody else!
Mario is awesome! I tried my best with drums even though I can’t play them haha. Thanks for watching! :)
Rhythme Sauvage is a drum pack on Toontrack that Mario DuPlantier made! He should try that
You do this wayyyyy too well man, great job
Thanks! :)
Brilliant!
4:28 song starts (for those who come back and want to listen)
Awesome, those super fast gallops on the main riff are SOO gojira
Also, something you didn’t mention but is very gojira is the major diad at the end of the loop of the main riff
Yep, I forgot to mention that. Dimebag actually did that a lot too, in songs like Rise so it’s kinda like both bands haha. Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks for watching everybody!

Pete is that one youtuber that doesnt upload as much, but all the content is absolutely fire! Nice work!
Seriously well made, Pete. This has to be one of your most believable "what is X sounded like Y". It bloody slaps
Thanks! This one was tricky to do :)
Now I really want to see Gojira record a Pantera cover. Their Sepultura and Metallica covers sound great but Pantera fits their sound really well
Great work on this Pete! Loved the tone as well as the Gojira elements *Whale Noises Intensifies*
Thanks! Yeah, I actually used my 6505MH on this for the first time in a while, I wanted it to sound bigger than an Amp Sim plugin :)
Your band dissections, analysis, breakdowns and crossovers are awesome. Applying a bands style to another the way you do it is great entertainment.
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words! :)

Great video though, as always 🔥
Two of the best bands in history mashed up sounds so fucking heavy my spine damn near snapped in two from my headphones having so much metal in them
I love this! The bridge almost sounds like oroborus. Can't wait till this blows up!
Spot on!!! Well done
Thanks for watching! :)
I can literally hear Joe songing to this in my head! \m/
Fucking GNARLEY! I headbanged to entire demonstration. BRAVO my main man!
THE TONE 💯
Thanks! It’s my 6505MH going into my Two Notes Torpedo Live :)
@@peteplaysmusic Amazing dude, great video and thanks for the answer 😊🙏🙏
Did you use the Neural DSP Gojira plugin for this? Sounds so much like their sound lol

I didn’t know that I could imagine what a pantera song written by gojira would sound like until now. This guy is metal af.
Thanks! :)
Pantera is my soundtrip back in college days. This version is more rhythm-riff oriented, can still hear the original vibe to it though. Indeed a new level

i m a old school hiphop fan, but Gojira and PanterA are two of my favorties bands
Absolutely nailed this one!

These are such cool videos man. I hope people understand the skill you have to do these adaptations. Truly impressive! Cheers
Thanks for watching, this was a tricky one to do :)
Sounds like the acacia strain! DL was such an underrated guitarist!
A possible replacement for the solo could be an octave tremolo ending, like in e.g. Dawn, In the Wilderness, Esoteric Surgery, Inward Movement etc etc. Anyway spot on for FMTS/TWOAF era.
I thought about including some tremolo picking sections but I just couldn’t make it fit nicely so I just opted to leave out the section :)
Make an EP. Godzilla days revisited

The hammer on part is giving me Jinjer vibes.
Dude, you’re a genius and creating songs by one artist to sound like another. You really know how to capture and replicate their sounds. Im a little jealous of your talent. Lol

There were no Gojira pic scrapes that a lot of bands (like Spiritbox) have started using.
SICK!
Bra, Walk and Gojira is a recipe for heaviness...
This is really cool
No solos pick scrapes pitch shifting and more
Awesome video content as always!! Especially if it includes pantera
Thanks for watching! :)
How do you like that HB Amarok? Been thinking of pulling the trigger on the baritone version.
Just curious to hear your'e doing the vice versa "Gojira Sounded Like Pantera"
The sound is Sick and dope
More videos please 💚
hear me out, flesh and the power it holds by Death done by Gojia
What if Lamb of God sounded like Architects? I kinda just want to hear that blood of the scribe riff turned into an architects riff since it already sounds super modern despite being 20 years old at this point
Thats metal as fuck.
just listen to morbid angel you will hear gojira's sound. even the pick scrapes. listen to "where the slime lives" specifically.
No se
Not a fan of Gojira but I enjoyed how you explained the process of taking one bands song and make it sound like the style of another.
Thanks for watching! :)
I was hoping for the gojira scraps. Was not disappointed😂
