Brilliant! I've also got a 25 mariner that I use on my Sib I'm about to make the tiller more central (easier when standing up) and also thought about making it longer! And moving the gear change forward into the side of the grab handle and eventually also make a trim and tilt. Great channel 👍

Yep, they are tohatsu, built in Japan. Mercury just put their stickers on them. A lot of the smaller Mercury two stroke outboards where actually tohatsu because they are AWESOME
G'day mate , bloody good work there. I'm just wondering because to be serious I have no idea... I have a 5hp four stroke suzuki and was wondering if when in gear it should idle without cutting out. It's new to me but I'm sure the previous owner changed the idle setting. Would really appreciate your input if you will. Thanks.
Hi mate, Yep, it should definitely idle without stalling while in gear. See if you can adjust your idle speed up slightly. Does the motor run ok in gear once your going?
@@25hpboatracerman Thanks for getting back...Yeah it goes well considering it's pushing a big old solid 3.7 fiberglass boat from the 70's , bloody thing just wouldn't idle without cutting out even in neutral. I threw it into the plastic 44gal drum and adjusted it this morning so it would idle even in gear but didn't want to keep it that way if it wasn't supposed to...it doesn't clunk and is rather smooth when engaging. Thanks for clearing that up for me mate I really appreciate it , cheers.
@@douger1517 LOL. Actually it's a 2018 model with only 15hrs on the clock + the 2hrs I put on it , in mint condition (Just run in) only used in freshwater , it hasn't had time to fall apart yet...but I get what ya saying.
